we order Uber eats from here a lot. I would say their food qualities is fairly consistent along with their flavors. Their lamb gyro is delicious. Their carrot salad and their baba ghanoush for appetizers is yummy. There's plenty full pita bread. We also got their mixed plate and their rice is amazing with pineapple, chicken and lamb and other meats. In the past I've also gotten the coconut cake and the tiramisu and it was delicious. It's been a long time since I have been at café agora but they are still great! This location is probably a lil nicer than the other one in Midtown in regards to ambiance and decor. Even though I haven't been in the one in Midtown in a while, and they may have changed. The food here is pretty consistent and tasty. The lentil soup is very different than others as it's probably all blended and you don't have the texture of the lentils but it is VERY tasty! read more

When got there we got seated right away and we asked to sit outside and they were very nice about it. It's in downtown buckhead, but it's away from the busy streets, so it was nice and quiet. First we got the sigara rolls. They remind you of a taqueria but light and airy. We got ground beef inside and it was flavored really well with parsley, dill and herbs. Paired great with the homemade titzki. Overall those were 10/10. Actually, they were so good, we got a second order. They come with 3 per order. Vinny was our waiter and he was so nice and patient. One of us got lamb chops, and it came with 4 handsome pieces. They weren't too gamy and they were cooked perfectly. A perfect medium! Came with a salad and a bed of rice that was moist and beautifully flavored. Then we got a platter of falafel. It came with 4 big falafels, 4 pieces of pita, Greek salad with balsamic dressing, and hummus. It was all great! Then they gave us both little cups of rice pudding. We visited Cafe Agora on a Tuesday night. Self parking was tricky, but we were able to get a parking space right away. We were seated immediately and our server brought us soft drinks promptly. We ordered the Turkish Mousaka and the Gyro Sampler Platter both with salads. The food came to our table as soon as it was ready. We enjoyed the Mediterranean style salads, and savored every bite of our meals. Turkish Mousaka does not use potatoes so it had a lighter body and texture. It was delicious. we enjoyed the decor as well. the walls have murals of windows looking into Turkish landscapes. We will return soon. read more

The ambiance and the free parking were both reasons why I selected this Cafe Agora in the first place. The mood and the lighting was just right and just. I love Mediterranean food so this was a definite must try for me when I was in Buckhead. The restaurant was clean, well decorated, and spacious. When we went we were the only ones there so it was pretty quiet, which was nice. We went around noon and people started coming in around 1230. We were searching the menu for the lentil soup, which is what we wanted the most. However, we were told it wasn't vegetarian. That was disappointing. We ended up getting the maza platter. Which was average. It was a bit tasteless and we had to ask for hot sauce and lemon to add some additional flavor. We did get the falafel appetizer to share and even that felt pretty bland. The best part was the balloon bread! That's a must try, but you have to eat it right away when it's hot. It was filling for the two of us just to get the maza platter and the falafel appetizer. We got a Turkish coffee which was too strong, not flavorful, and too acidic. Having been to Turkey and a fan of Turkish coffee that was also disappointing. The service was prompt, but didn't feel pleasant. The sweetest touch in the end was just two small spoons of rice pudding like dessert with our check. However, it was just delivered to us with no explanation. Overall, the restaurant had a nice vibe, but fell short in service and food. There's parking in front that's free. Start to finish 5 stars! Stopped in for lunch and the first thing you notice is the ambiance and decor. It feels Mediterranean and light inside with comfortable seating. There was only one person working when we went and he was HUSTLING! He did not miss a beat, fast service, quick refills on water. Really fantastic. The food was delicious! It tasted light and fresh. I had the mixed gyro plate and my husband had the chicken gyro. He literally wiped the plate clean! The portions are good size and I had basically a second meal out of my entree. So while visiting Atlanta for the night last month we needed a spot to eat a late dinner. We were staying at the Kimpton and Cafe Agora was within walking distance, was well reviewed, and it was Mediterranean cuisine so we were definitely checking it out. We got there less than hour before close but we told them we were just grabbing a sample platter of apps and drinks and we'd be on our way. They were so kind and welcoming. I'm glad this is where we landed that evening. We tried the classics: babaganoush, Tabbouleh, hummus, dolmas, and pita. It was killer and exactly what we needed to nourish our bodies and feel satiated before bed. Our waiter was chatty and kind. Located in Buckhead Cafe Agora is the delicious bit of Mediterranean goodness I didn't know I needed. Btw the parking lot is very small so parking is limited. But on the plus side now that the weather is starting to get a little better they have a patio which you can sit on and enjoy your wine, meal, and people watch. It took a few minutes to be sat but only because I think there was like one waiter which was fine. But once sat he brought over water (which was so good, usually I have to add lemon to cover the weird taste but not here) we put in our orders. Then it seemed like not even five minutes later our food was up. For my entrée I got the agora mixed grill with lamb and chicken came with rice, a side salad with feta, and some pita bread w/ what tasted like sun-dried tomato on it. But it was so good better than I had expected. My friend got the lamb Gyro with a side salad. She said it was so good and so flavorful I agree my food was as well. well if that was really nice was at the end they give you a small portion of rice pudding didn't get the picture because it vanished in .1 seconds but it was delicious as well. We were in this area a bit before noon on a Sunday, primarily to visit the Christkindl holiday market thing in Buckhead Village. After an initial stroll through there, nothing really drew me in food-wise. We had walked by Café Agora on the way there; it was only 2 doors (or empty lots) down the street, so we opted to have lunch there. I've seen this place for a while. I have not visited Buckhead with anything approaching frequency for a long time, so I'm not sure exactly how long this place has been here; their website didn't say. It feels like it has been there for a while, though. They appeared to have their own (small) parking lot. There is parking available nearby in decks and on-street (both for a fee). They appeared to have limited patio seating, but the weather was cold with some light drizzle, so no one was going for that. They have a large interior dining room and appeared to have some bar seating as well (though it was closed off at the time). The menu had a surprising array of choices given that it was basically just one page. In addition to a few sorts of gyros, they also had fish, at least a couple of types of kabobs, a decent selection of appetizers, etc. We both went for the gyro, which also included a small salad. The portion size wasn't overwhelming, but neither was it skimpy. I didn't particularly want leftovers but I was able to finish my plate without feeling overly full. The gyro itself was very flavorful. Both of us enjoyed our salads; they were small, but with a large variety of vegetables. Prices were not outrageous despite their location in Buckhead. I was expecting a rather average dining experience here, but was quite pleasantly surprised. I will definitely keep this place in mind should I be in Buckhead again at meal-time. read more

Visited Cafe Agora not that long ago for the first time with a friend and was pleasantly surprised! They have a selection of both Turkish, Greek and Mediterranean cuisines and all of it is super fresh. I had the falafel pita with Tabouli on the side as well as a 1/2 and 1/2 appetizer of Hummus and Fried Eggplant. Everything was delicious and our server was very nice! Grabbed a bite here since it was walking distance from the Atlanta History Center. It was around 4:30p & not many people there, but few more people showed up around 5p. We took our time ordering & did ask for recommendations or specials, but the Waiter didn't have any to give. Food came out pretty quickly from the time we ordered. Everything was tasty & portions were a nice size. We asked for lemon for our water, but it never came. We didn't get checked on or have our water refilled. It was as if they forgot about us. Overall the food is good but three stars for the lack of attentiveness, especially when it wasn't busy. I'd come again in case this was a one-off. First spot of my search for delicious food around my city. A few places popped up but this place had the best reviews! The waiter was nice and informative and helpful in choosing our food. We had the Baba Ganoush- it's a eggplant based and oh my gosh soooo good I really didn't expect the taste and with the tomato it was even better Our entree was the Agora Grilled Mix So essentially we got to try all the meats over a bed of rice and side salad and pita bread. Cafe Agora seems to be a favorite on Yelp, so I decided it was time for me to experience it myself. I was a little hesitant when I pulled in to park because the place looked empty. I chose to sit outside and there was one other family outside dining. However, after sitting for about five minutes, I quickly realized that Cafe Agora stays busy with takeout orders. I kid you not, during the 40 minutes or so I was there, I counted at least 30 people come in to pick up their takeout orders. Now for the food, I ordered: 1. Turkish Potatoes ($8) - Quite tasty! I'd order these again. 2. Mix Gyro Plate ($15) - Chicken & Lamb. Also served with rice, salad, pita bread and tsazitki sauce. The lamb was amazing! We've been eating here for years now! It's definitely our absolute favorite Mediterranean restaurant in Midtown and on days we cannot agree on where to get dinner, Cafe Agora has always been a happy compromise. My husband and I always get the Meze Plate (appetizer platter), small if we are dining in and large if for takeout, EVERY SINGLE TIME! Most of the time we just share the small Meze plus Mixed Grill Plate, which has a little bit of everything. The place seems like a hole in the wall and interior is quite humble, but it never stopped us from going and we often take our out-of-town friends there. We remember many times that the food was so good that no one said a word before we devoured everything. Now we are in the middle or quarantine, we actually have ordered delivery from here a few times. Most recently we got the large Meze ($16.50 with extra pita), Lamb Shish Kebab ($18.50 with extra tzaziki), and large Lamb Gyro ($10.50). Such a good meal and we had plenty to snack on the next day. I will admit that we were within an hour of closing when we arrived and there were other patrons in the restaurant but still didn't appreciate an employee trying to dissuade us from dining in and then the owner practically telling us to wrap it up and leave soon after we ordered and got our food. Sat at the bar to save time and almost immediately ordered a Lamb Gyro. The food came out quickly which was good since I was hungry. I really enjoyed the cuts of lamb and they were probably the best I've had in a gyro in Atlanta, but there was entirely too much sauce on the dish. Little Bo- Peep has lost her sheep, And can't tell where to find them...Oh wait you can find them on my plate at the Cafe Agora in Buckhead. Talk about some of the best lamb shank I ever had and I'm Greek I would know. It tasted like the lamb my ancestors had back in the old country, when it was cooked over an open spit. The meat fell right off the bone and juicy, Zorba juicy. It was like Zeus was in the kitchen throwing lighting bolts of flavor into each dish, the taste had me crawling for more before I could finish my previous bite. The sauce laid over the lamb like a warm blanket, homemade no doubt - these taste buds know preservatives. On the side were Turkish potatoes, which were perfectly roasted on the outside and soften on the inside. They acted like a zamboni as I mopped my plate and scavenged for any bit of lamb I may have overlooked. It also came with a Greek salad which was fresh and flavorful. Most salads I generally eat two bites and call it a day. I ate every tomato, onion, cucumber, and piece of lettuce like a vegan at an all you can eat salad bar. But, I am no vegan and was starring at a bare lamb bone... After all the Greek references, I do have to say this is a Turkish restaurant. The atmosphere was great and the outside patio was an added bonus. The servers were on point and very attentive; A+. At the end of the meal you receive a small cup of rice pudding which was magnificent parting gift.
