They offer exactly what you need and expect in a small cafe: good coffee, relaxing ambiance and WIFI. Plus, the location is great - only steps away from the Santa Lucia metro! The cafe has seating outside, on the very busy street of San Isdro where, on any given day, you can see street musicians, performers, hawkers and dogs - tons of street dogs! I prefer the outside seating on a summers day (especially nice if you order a scoop of their artesanal ice cream to enjoy outside), and for the smokers that like a cigarette with their coffee, this is where it's at. However, on the colder winter days, it is nice to sit upstairs and look over the busy city street while enjoying your espresso. They also have lunch specials that they make depending on the weather. For example, every time it is cloudy and cold I have seen them offering soups, sopaipillas and pan amasado (the most delicious bread I have come across...except for sourdough of course ;) ) They have good WIFI but I don't recommend working there for the day as the seating upstairs is very small so they expect their turnover to be high.

This is my favorite place to go for a nice healthy lunch. They have a different lunch menu every day which usually comes with a soup or small salad to start, an entree and small desert. I had the quiche last time I was there which was a perfect portion and the perfect dish to warm you up on one of those cold wintery days in Santiago. They have a wide selections of really good salads too with homemade dressings. T he inside has very sweet decoration and you almost feel like you're eating in a summer cabin. You can eat outside on their street patio as well, however the decor and warmth of the inside is hard to compete with. The only thing I would recommend is a little faster and more cheerful service to accompany your meal.

This cafe features a counter for perching and throwing back a caffeine jolt. Most patrons here drink their coffee fast and roll out. The cortado was good but not exceptional. It does come served in a beautiful glass and metal European style cup , which we did not experience because we asked for ours to go, a mistake. Note bien: the banos here consisted of three urinals attached to the wall in what appeared to be marked as a unisex bathroom and clearly was not. I ventured solo past the do not enter employees only door through a locker room for staff and a utility closet to find a sit down toilet that a female could use that was in a tiny closet-unmarked- in the back. In the spirit of adventure- and since we did not plan a trip to Chile but were redirected there courtesy of United Airlines and Copa Airlines- I consider this entire trip a bonus adventure- I accepted my bathroom exploration as par for the course. However, we also noted that all the staff here were young ladies wearing sheer black stockings, tight bodysuits and hyper abbreviated red velour miniskirts. Just saying. Visited this quaint little spot for a late breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the food. We were…read morethankful the lady was able to speak a good amount of English to help us. I ordered tea, eggs, bacon, toast, and a mimosa. The tea was ok and I thought the bacon was going to be real bacon but it was Canadian bacon. Other than that the food was delicious and the mimosas were made with fresh squeezed orange juice, you could taste the pulp. The toast was nicely toasted and I tried some of my cousin's avocado with it and it made it even better. The eggs with bacon and tomatoes were good as well. We also didn't realize it came with a dessert bc if I did I would've saved some space for it. We enjoyed our time there and recommend for anyone wanting a tasty breakfast.

The owners of the food truck, Soul Kitchen, have done it again with one of the best coffee options…read morein Santiago: Café 100. Cafe 100, named for its location in the Matucana 100 Cultural Center, just opened July 11th and is the reason you should get your butt out of your chair and head to Quinta Normal. The owners have taken the flavors and style that have made them famous for their food truck and have added gourmet coffee to the mix. They have switched it up a bit from their spicy tacos to gourmet sandwiches and mixed green salads - seriously yum! However, no need to worry, they have no plans to get rid of the tacos but will only be using the food truck for events and will be focusing 100 percent on the Cafe for now. All of their ingredients are fresh and local, making for delicious dishes with flavors that pop. What's best, is that they have just planted a vegetable garden in the same area, so they can start using their own vegetables in each dish! I recommend trying their delicious sandwich of grilled vegetables with red pepper paste, pesto and mayo between Pan Vitta whole wheat bread - yum! Accompany it with one of their drip coffees made with freshly ground Peruvian coffee (this is a place to take coffee snobs). I can only see Cafe 100 getting better as they get their kitchen fully put together and get settled in - I am excited to see what they will be bringing to Quinta Normal in the coming months!
