Everyone was incredibly kind! Food was amazing! They only wanted the best for my experience and continued to go above and beyond even after I paid. They accidentally made an extra entree and gave it to me for free! I have to shout out Mahni and Scott. They obviously care for their customers. They went above and beyond to make my "pre-vacation day off" the best it could be. Definitely coming back here during my mall trips :)

You will be pleasantly surprised if you decide to go to Cafe Bistro. I know I was surprised over Cafe Bistro being so delicious despite it being owned by Nordstrom. Nothing wrong with Nordstrom, I just wasn't expecting a department store to be capable of opening such a killer restaurant. You should have no problem with finding parking near the Nordstrom entrance of Barton Creek Mall. Be aware that you should dress on the nicer side. This cafe isn't a casual cafe where you can just wear some casual jeans and t-shirt outfit. My favorite dish is the turkey club sandwich. The club sandwich is chock full of your typical parts of a sandwich: tomatoes, lettuce, turkey, etc. But it's not like you'll have a hard time taking a bite out of the sandwich without food falling out from the sandwich. The fries that come with the sandwich are just as good too. They are neither too crunchy nor too mushy, and they come with their own sauce. As for the dessert options, I always go for the bread pudding. Cafe Bistro has the best bread pudding in Austin as far as I know. The white chocolate sauce is so smooth and buttery, and the bread pudding itself is so tender. You can definitely chew on the bread pudding and realize it's bread, but nowhere is there any hard spots that they forgot to soften for serving. The bread pudding is aesthetically pleasing because the plate is covered with the white chocolate sauce, and a small swirl of raspberry sauce is added in case you like your bread pudding dipping sauce to be more fruity. The mint leaves and the couple of raspberries are a nice finishing touch.

Did heavy shopping at Nordstrom's and guess what I look forward to is the Bistro resturant they do have several menu items you have to try. One is the French onion soup amazing flavor of perfectly baked very well, has a less salty taste than most onion soups I had which I felt compelled to let everyone know it was bursting with flavors of onions with melted cheese. I also ordered the Mushroom Pepperoni Pizza so good between the two I truly loved both equally. My wine that was served to me was a Rose' a real summer type of wine light and perfect for the occasion. The waiter was very attentive and loves the fact he always made sure butter with bread was served to me after a busy day for me. The bar is also a nice touch cool decor and seemed to be busy. So many people visit this amazing place to shop and eat. Highly recommend this sweet place to everyone.

When we asked him if there was a problem he simply said they can not serve us drinks, simply because we are a loud bunch of girls, which they took as unruly? We chose to leave and when asked to speak to a manager. We were greeted by a very RACIST white lady named Osha. No personality and no clue on hospitality. If you run a restaurant that is so "popular" you need language training. Thankful we didn't give them our business. They certainly do not deserve us. This is a racist establishment.

With a point system to accrue benefits over time, and at each visit, and impressive happy hour specials for both food and drinks, it's hard not to visit more than once. Every member of service either greeted us, or supported our needs with a smile. Calvin, especially, made sure every step of our experience from walking in through ordering was special. While we didn't indulge in the beverages, we enjoyed the $10 burger special which also came with fries! We paired this with a side of a $6 Caesar Salad (really tasty and thrown together with thinly sliced cabbage, roasted chickpeas, and popcorn chicken). Next time, I'd really love to try the truffle mac and cheese (which was also on HH). We weren't aware of the upcharge for swapping out the slice of American for Cheddar (+$1.50), which would've been nice to know ahead of time, since we both got burgers and wondered about the swap...but lesson learned. Also, BIG lesson learned...the parking validation is for only two hours! We were having such a lovely time at Dish Society, but exceeded the 2 hrs (by an extra hour) and got charged a significant amount for parking. Next time, we will certainly park on the street. We tried reasoning with the parking attendant and they wanted no business in understanding we were patrons of the restaurant. It was certainly an unexpected shock, and didn't leave the best final touch of our evening (specifically in that parking garage). It's unfortunate that we got penalized for enjoying our time at dinner.

The dishes are thoughtfully composed, well seasoned, and always fresh. Avocado toast is usually a throwaway offering, but they do it right here, fully loaded with pesto, heirloom tomato, and a ton of avocado. There have been some recent changes that are a bummer though. I'm really sad that they seem to have taken the vegan chorizo and potato hash off the menu, which was simply the best brunch dish. Happy hour options are also greatly reduced, leaving very little for vegans, and I'm sorry but on what planet is $8 for pickles a good deal? I still love the place, but it's not in regular rotation.

I was really craving a great salad, so I decided to go in. At first you walk up and order, and then the clerk at the front, like all other places turns the screen around and says "One last question", and then stares at you, while you read their 3 tipping options. So you're standing there, guilted into tipping, by an individual that only pressed a couple of buttons, only to have the kitchen get your order wrong. At an establishment like this, it would be nice if you could tip at the end, after the whole experience, instead of out of obligation at the beginning, because you have an individual begging for it. Anyways. So after I ordered I waited, only to get a $20 salad that had 4 small pieces of chicken and with the Miso dressing which I didn't order. I ordered the Lemon Avocado Vinaigrette which came with no snap peas, when I ordered extra. Then when I finally was able to flag someone down and tell them what had happened, she said "Ok" and went back and got a bowl of snap peas. No "I'm sorry" or "Let us remake it" I wouldn't have had them remake it because I hate wasting food.....but what I hate more is feeling like crap, undervalued and unappreciated. Where was the customer service? If you want a great salad, go here......but don't expect to get what you ordered, after you've been strong armed into tipping, and when you bring it up, expect an eye roll like you're inconveniencing them. I think I'll be taking all my Rollingwood women's group friends, to the new spot for a try......Sweet Green in the HEB parking lot.....or I'll go into HEB and buy a whole rotisserie chicken for $6 and a bag of salad for another $4 and go enjoy two salads at home. For such a casual place, y'all sure act uppity, entitled and as if, you're serving Grey Poupn on top of a Grade A slab of Prime Rib.

Would order the carrot margarita again, definitely. Ordered bread service and tuna tartare. Parker house rolls were so soft and came with a really nice whipped butter. I bake bread at home but I wanted to try the rolls and they were really good restaurant rolls. The browned cheese on top creates a really nice crust. Tuna tartare had mandarin orange, avocado, sesame, and tamari, served with sepia crisps. Delicious. Shaved Brussels sprouts salad was so nice, the sweet grapes and Asian pear went really nicely with the vinaigrette and shaved aged manchego cheese. Ordered 2 more cocktails, naked in manhattan and love and lust martini (pornstar martini with a champagne sidecar) and both were good but super sweet, so if you don't like sweet cocktails I wouldn't go for either of those. For the main course we ordered the 30 day dry aged porterhouse and Mousseline potatoes. If you ask me, the potatoes were the star of the whole show, but I could eat potatoes for every meal and never be sick of them. Truffle-forward but not too funky like some truffle dishes can be. Puréed to perfection and covered in a rich, creamy sauce. Princess Mousseline potatoes, I love you. The porterhouse was so, so good. They served it with the bone standing up, which was hilarious to us, but it really wouldn't have mattered what it looked like because it was seasoned and cooked beautifully, and so juicy and tender. Got the au poivre sauce to go with it and it was delicious but the steak honestly didn't even need it. For dessert we got the burnt marshmallow gianduja tartufo, which was like a chocolate hazelnut not-quite mousse in a chocolate shell with charred marshmallow on top. The crunchy hazelnuts and chocolate shell with the cold, creamy chocolate-hazelnut mousse, and the warm marshmallow together made for a perfect bite. So rich and balanced and not cloyingly sweet. Our server's name was Tarkan, he was wonderful every step of the way. He learned our names and used them each time he came to check on us, which made it feel personal. Support staff was very attentive, clearing any dishes and glasses as soon as they noticed us slowing down, making sure water glasses were always full, announcing each dish as they dropped it off. The restaurant is dimly lit, booths are cozy, bar is beautiful. I was too busy eating to check out the bathroom. That never happens, I always check out the bathrooms when I go to a new place and I'm a little upset I forgot, but I guess I'll just have to go back. 5 stars for sure.

Service was one point. The food was presented to feed your eyes before tasting. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. My husband loved the fried bone in pork chop with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I had the special which was chipotle grilled shrimp on a bed of crisp potatoes with a chipotle seasoned sweet potatoes and avocado purée. It was delicious. I wish though that the avocado puree was drizzled on top of the dish instead of on the bottom. That way each bit would have a little of the creamy puree. Looking forward to visiting again.

They gave us a small scoop of pimiento cheese with 2 crackers. It's zesty and creamy and great to have an amuse-bouche before our appetizer came out. We loved the smashed guacamole with cotija cheese and pumpkin seeds ($11). The tortilla chips were so thin and perfectly roasted. So good! I ordered the Texas coast crispy fried shrimp ($22). It was perfectly cooked with lots of crunch. I think there were 8 shrimp. I loved the jalapeño tartar dipping sauce. I skipped the fries and for more black beans instead. What I should have done is gotten more slaw instead. That slaw a medley of red cabbage, green cabbage, carrots and cilantro - it was so well seasoned. Great food, amazing service, fun setting. Loved this spot!

Fabulous! My friend…read moreTiffany told me about Anthem on Rainy Street. Neither of us had been, and also it's been years since we've been on Rainy Street. So we thought we would make a whole night of it. Tiffany did make reservations for us for 7pm and even though this is a bar hopping neighborhood, even at 7pm it was pretty busy. Streets were full of people. Anthem had a vibe. I felt the energy as soon as I waked in. The cozy booths with the U shaped seating with plush green velvet fabric. Wait staff wore Hawaiian shirts. Sitting up behind me on a ledge was the Easter Island statue. Insert (Night At The Museum) here, dumb dumb give me gum gum. Anthem was our first stop tonight. Just drinks and a dinner. I ordered the Peach Fuzzy drink. Not too sweet, refreshing, peachy, and beautiful garnish of a flower. I ordered the Yummy Fries which looked like a salad. Gorgeous presentation. Fries were actually waffle sweet potatoes. Pickled ginger, sesame seeds, furikake, aïoli and a few other wonderful ingredients. Could not get over how beautiful everything looked. Presentation outstanding. Service delightful. Had a wonderful time at Anthem. We both did use the ladies rooms before leaving. Inside the bathroom there is a sign about safety and if you need assistants. I did take a picture of it. On our way out, Brian the manager, said good night to us and waved. We later saw Brian at another place. And I'll write about that in my review for that place as well. Brian, you're Doll, thank you for your hospitality.
