My daughter loves to grab lunch here and I can see why. It's really quick as you order at the register and the good comes out fast. They have a mixed menu of quality soups, sandwiches and hot items. I will always go for their soups especially their French onion. They will also split a salad for you if you would like to share. Hint: save some room for desert. This was a special place that I always went to with my daughter when she was growing up and now every time she comes home from college. But today was my last day going there with my husband. I knew they were changing the format, but didn't know how much they were going to change the menu. Gone are the herb fries which were amazing. Now they have a salt and pepper fry, but there was no pepper. Gone is the shaved chicken sun-dried tomato and cheese sandwich. We would share that and the French onion soup every single time. Today they had French onion soup on the menu as a special so I ordered it. It tasted nothing like the previous version. It was sweet, not salty, and the cheese was burnt, which meant that it tasted burnt throughout the soup because little black flex must've gotten in the soup as we dug through the cheese,. Normally it is a dark golden brown, but never burnt. It was very offputting. We tried the Santa Fe chicken sandwich. Of course it fell apart because it's a huge piece of butter lettuce with a breast of chicken on it very difficult to eat and pretty tasteless. The fries still had olive tapenade, but there was no black pepper on the fries and they were undercooked. This experience was really disappointing and they shouldn't have changed the menu this drastically. I texted my daughter about it and she also said that is very sad because now we have to come up with a new place to go regularly when we are together. This review has been way overdue. I Love going to Café Bistro whenever I am at the Los Cerritos Mall. The ambiance is nice and cozy. Perfect place to eat and hang out. My girlfriends and I had the following recently: * Portabella Mushroom Ravioli - The creamy parmesan sauce was so yummy! It had tomatoes and basil also. A very filling. * Roma Tomato Bisque Soup - One of their classic soups. Tasty and creamy as usual! * Margherita Pizza - Delicious! One of my favorites. * Roasted Turkey & Avocado Club - Ours was served with a side salad. You also have an option of french fries as well. This was both healthy and yummy. * Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts - I do not like brussel sprouts but this was an exception! It had chicken sausage, peanuts, chile de arbol with sweet soy. I love Nordstrom and even better that they have this cafe. The service is always great and the food is good. I always enjoy whatever I order with each visit. I took off one star because the cafe requires the hard Nordstrom card to use. Although to shop, we can text request the QR code. However to eat, the actual card is required. These days, having the actual card is unnecessary. We have Apple Pay and all cards digital on our phone. This was an inconvenience. Other than that, no other complaints and I will continue to enjoy this cafe. read more

Every saturday i would go here. They changed the menu and the way they cooked the food that stayed and honestly if you've been going here for a while then you will know how much it downgraded. I'm very disappointed with how they changed it. Before you were able to order and pay at the register,choose where you sat, and leave without having to pay the check after. Now it's the opposite. The ambiance is the same just a bit sad how things have changed. This is a hidden gem! It's so delicious!! The staff is exceptional and really goes above and beyond. The food quality is stellar. Nordstrom's only problem is they don't market this place and so many don't know about it. Today I had a steak salad and glass of wine. I was so sad when I took my last bite as it melted in my mouth. Raquel took my order and was so pleasant to be around and really listened to all of my dietary restrictions and made sure the kitchen knew. With holiday season having just passed we frequented mall in particular Nordstrom. Luckily for me as my wife shopped I usually tagged along I knew she would get hungry with all that shopping and she would suggest eating here. Really enjoyed the chill vibe, excellent service a the star of the show the food. Everything we have tried has been excellent however with our last visit I tried the seasonal special birria pizza and it was delicious. I would also recommend the burger and the lobster bisque. I usually order my child the Mac and cheese it is also really good. I have tried several dishes here really enjoyed all of them I like how simple and easy to understand menu is not a lot of items but can't go wrong with anything you order. It was a bit busy, but Kanani greeted us with her amazing personality and great customer service. Im not sure if she was the manager or not, but she genuinely cared for the guests at the Bistro. I love cafes inside Nordstrom. Haven't been to this location yet so thought to give it a try. Upon checking in they have you order your food and pay for it first. Thought was very different because you also tip your server before hand. How would you know if service is worth what you tip? After payment you have a choice to sit anywhere you pleased. Luckily, my server Susie was kind and fast with my order. She was worth the tip I gave her. Always checked on me to see everything is good. Really appreciate the manager who also did the same. I'm in love with their Roma tomato basil soup. I was craving it for a while so had to order. It's the best and a must every time I make a visit to a Nordstrom Cafe. With it I was sipping on a glass of Prosecco. Very refreshing and light. Didn't try any other items on the menu because I was getting ready to attend a birthday party so didn't want to overstuffed myself. Next time, will definitely check out other options. read more

For the chicken and goat cheese sandwich I got the balsamic vinaigrette on the side since I'm not a big fan of vinaigrette there was some type of mango or mango jam on the sandwich that I was not expecting, but the sandwich itself was very tasty but we warned it is a bit messy! For the kid's chicken breast the green beans were ever so slightly underdone for our liking. However, the rest of the dish was great. Restaurant itself is tucked away and makes you forget you're in a busy mall. The low lightening and spacious seating add to the relaxing experience. Horrible presentation because they cook their steaks in the oven and they serve it on the plate. It rested on, so lots of blood. Happy with my experience here and would definitely go back when I'm at the mall again. There are menus to peruse at the entrance and you order at the counter prior to being seated. I was able to use a $10 Nordy note to get a discount on my meal. I enjoyed my dijon cobb salad with shrimp; it was very filling and tasty. Seemed a little pricey at $23 but I know prices are going up everywhere nowadays. They also have a decent beer and wine selection. I had extremely poor service at the Nordstrom cafe bistro this afternoon. I had to flag down a server to tell our server that we wanted to order dessert. After we received our dessert and the check, the server never came back. I had to flag down another server again who told us she would tell our server. We waited over 20 minutes but she never came back. The other server passed our table three times while we waited and saw we hadn't been cashed out. We finally walked up to the cashier. We waited five minutes at the counter for the cashier to take a customer's order. As soon as they were done, the phone rang. Instead of putting the phone on a brief hold, the cashier proceeded to take an entire phone order. I'm a regular customer of the cafe, but after this experience today, I won't be back. read more

I went with a friend to have lunch, I haven't been here in ages. I was on a shopping diet and this place is inside nordies (temptation, lol). It wasn't too busy, we got seated right away. The host lady was all smiles and way too adorable. The place was spotless. Our waiter was Thalia, what a great lady. I've been coming here since this Nordstrom location opened. Cafe Bistro is located on the second floor of Nordstrom. You walk in, order at the register, and sit wherever you'd like. Your server comes to your table, fulfills your order, and grabs anything else you may need. I love getting the Caesar salad. It comes with a massive Parmesan crisp. The crab bisque is also pretty good. I usually grab a little bottle of Prosecco to go with my meal. Secret gem is their white chocolate bread putting. Delicious! I've never been inside this cafe before, even though I've visited Nordstrom plenty of times. My mom, who frequents this spot, recommended it, so we decided to try it out. ORDER THIS! The roasted cauliflower that is new on the menu can be a meal alone or shared by two. Chrispy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. I'm a calamari, hot wings and spinach dip kind of girl, but in this case, it stacks up to the spinach dip and I'll order it again. My favorite part of this appetizer is the flavor and seasoning. My fav place now after some long shopping. Cannot believe I just found this gem. It's secretly located on the second floor of Nordstrom. We ordered crab bisque & crispy cauliflower as starters. Crab bisque was slightly saltier than usual but the CAULIFLOWER is perfectly crispy with my fav hummus, feta cheese, and olives sprinkled on top. Then, we had flank steak (5/5) & ribs pasta (2/5). Flank steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare, as requested. The purple olive mayo sauce pairs perfectly with the fries. Located on the second floor of Nordstrom. It's a cute little bistro tucked into the store. Everyone here is extremely sweet and they make sure your dining experience is awesome. What you do is you order at the front, take your ticket down to your table where they'll take your receipt and bring the food out to you. The food was great here. What we got was the lobster bisque, tomato bisque, French dip, the crab macaroni and cheese and the house salad. The food came out promptly and was super flavorful. I loved the tomato bisque because it was jam packed of flavor. The sandwich looked so good and came with straw string fries with a garlic aioli. What I didn't really care for was the arugula salad that came with the macaroni. While the pasta was delicious the portion size was a tad bit small. So I was always curious about this place since my mom and dad ate here years ago. Since I was planning to go to Nordstrom to buy something, I thought I should try this place out. I ordered, and decided to get what I needed while they prepare my food. They accept Nordstrom credit cards as payments here, which is a plus. I got the French dip with a side of fries, soda and this blonde brownie with chocolate and butterscotch. I was hoping to get the soup as a side instead of fries, but they don't allow you to do that. :( The lady at the cashier was accommodating, especially since I didn't have my Nordstrom card and she kindly looked it up for me. I would have to say, this is the best French dip I have ever had! I've tried so many, and this topped it all. The bread was crunchy outside, soft on inside. The meat was medium rare and it was not dry. There was this purple tinted sauce that has such an amazing flavor. It was cream, tangy and had onion flavor to it. It went well with the sandwich and the crispy thin sliced fries (my favorite type of fries). It was so good. I just wasn't super impressed with the blonde brownie. It was dry, and the flavor wasn't so great. As for the French dip, I am still thinking about it. If the French dip is this good, then I definitely want to come back and try other things in the menu. read more

The food was so delicious and delicately seasoned. I ordered the steak frites again. It was cooked at the perfect medium, just the way I like it. I highly recommend it! It comes with fries, an arugula salad, and a raspberry aioli sauce. 5/5 stars for customer service. I can't wait to visit again! Previous: The food here was good but too salty. I order the iron steak frites and gruyere prosciutto grilled cheese. I also got to try the chicken pot pie soup which I liked. My steak was too rare for me.
