I love this place. The proprietor is friendly and adorable and plays kick ass music. He also has an amazing collection of bandanas. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and presented with care and charm. Hot beverages are served with a Hershey's kiss :) and my hot chocolate had real chocolate shavings (oh so much chocolate arghrlllllllll drool). The decor is mostly unfinished wood which adds to the simple and clean atmosphere. It isn't a very big which makes me think this would be a great date spot, but I've only been for lunch. There is an expansive menu through and I look forward to working my way through it.

Much prefer the setup in their Richmond joint. Quality is consistent but needed to do a double take…read moreon the kim chi sides.. first time at they're original venue and when asked about the sides the student waitress pointed to the small jars on the table. Not too appetising as the immediate thought was who else has been in the same jar? Are they the same ones left from previous patron? Was only game enough to try after seeing waitress clear tables and replenishing with new one. anyways... this place is all about sit ur ass down order eat FAAAAST pay get out!!!! Next!! Why 3 stars? Quality of meat is still good. Service is typical asian. Fast! Eat and pay. For a quick meal great. If you want to relax and enjoy the bbq and meat and drink... as is the experience I was hoping for given it was a Friday night after work... I wanted to REAALLY eat and drink.. well bit more of the latter! But .... anyhoooo

My new favourite local!…read more The most hipster restaurant on Koornang Road. Loved the food, wine list and ambience. Korean BBQ fusion menu with the usual suspects of chicken, beef, pork or lamb as sets, or other choices of individual serves of brisket, steak, etc. A refreshing twist was the non traditional options of side dishes sides, like salsa, corn on the cob, roasted potato, and shredded greens. Hopefully the addition of this trendy new spot to the Koornang Road strip will see others like it pop up too.

Miss Korea Kitchen - The interior, quite modern!

A quiet, charming, and modern restaurant located in Camberwell, Miss Korea offers up a variety of…read moreclassic Korean comfort foods. I stopped by for lunch on a weekday and saw that the interior was rather empty in comparison to other neighboring restaurants along the street. Parking, also, was somewhat of a pain - potential street parking, if you are lucky. A vast menu with options such as grilling your own meats, bibimbap, yet not really any tofu soups, sad... Though the menu is extensive, they only offer less than half the menu during lunch hours! So please, do yourself a favor and check with the waitress before you set your beady eyes on that delicious pajeon (pancake) because, alas, it's only available for dinner. I ordered the Stone Bowl Bibimbap with Beef ($14). Portion size was tiny, but the ingredients were excellent. The beef and vegetables were fresh and flavorful. It also came with 2 sauces, the spicy and soy sauce, per your palate's choosing. Also had the Korean Fried Chicken ($16) as an appetizer. Flavors were yum but the breading was a a bit too thick and hard...had to give it a good chew. Overall, meh...can't say I'm impressed.

Not the best I've ever had but certainly enjoyable none the less. It could do with a bit more kick - even with the 'chili' sauce it doesn't offer much of a punch. I like it regardless as a healthy-ish option in the area. The dumplings are amazing. I love them. I might even get some on my way home tonight. hhmmm... I even like the tofu starter and i usually avoid tofu like the plague. Don't travel to Camberwell for it, but visit if you are in the area for sure. The staff are friendly and glasses of (decent) wine are less than a tenner - always a good thing in my book!

My first visit to Light Years was for breakfast; a delicious and unforgettable meal it was…read more The location was off the beaten path, it took me about 15-20 minutes walk from the nearest metro. I was wondering why such a popular spot would be so isolated? But all is well worth the effort to get here. The venue is brimming with natural lighting, classic charm and warmth. For my breakfast, I ordered the Pixelated avocado (on a sourdough toast) because it just looked so darn intriguing. I didn't expect anything else to be honest, and turned out this was GOOD!! Every single element in this dish has complex flavors that compliments each other. The chili dried air kale, diced pixelated avocado and the soft shell crab was especially stunning. The dish certainly performs to its Instagram ability. For my drink, I ordered their matcha latte; it was strong tasting yet smooth. I could drink this all day! The Light Years is certainly not disappointing in any way, from the beautiful venue to the outstanding food, supported with service and ambiance for days. Easily, my favorite brunch spot in town at the moment and much to recommend you :).

Recently opened at the bottom of a new apartment block just along from the Camberwell tram depot, it should not be confused with Lights in the Attic cafe which is a bit further down Camberwell Road. The fit out is the now common scandi/minimalist affair with a smattering of potted greenery. Coffee is from Dukes, but the star of the show here is the food. All the dishes I saw coming out looked great and were good sized portions. I had the bircher and it was a generous serve, looked pretty and tasted even better. Overall a good value and tasty option for brunch/lunch in the leafy inner east.
