I have been to the Breton Village location a few times now. I have enjoyed everything that I have ordered so far. My favorite is the açaí bowl. It had açaí, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, peanut butter and granola. It was fresh and delicious. It was a decent size for the price. Also, I enjoyed the Chicken Gyro and it came with a side salad. This is a small intimate setting with limited seating. The staff are friendly! I have only done take out but I never had to wait a long time. I have my eye on trying the Avocado Toast next time. I love the location and available parking. I went to the Breton Village location after wanting to try this place for a while. I ordered online, and my order was ready on time. I tried the green omelette and added a side of the beef sausage. It also came with a piece of sourdough bread. The inside of the café is very cute and calming. I also ordered a hot latte with oat milk and sugar-free pistachio chocolate; that was probably the best part of my order. The food was pretty tasty, and the eggs were a large serving. The side of sausage was an extra $4, which in the future is probably not worth it. The side of bread was also unusually thin and hard to bite/chew - just not what I was expecting from sourdough. Ordered at 2:10 when they close at 3, the girl who served us told us that we would have to have our food to go since they "closed in 30 minutes". according to their website and the same girl later, they close at 3... we were given our food wrapped to go and given dirty looks by staff despite there being several other customers eating and plenty of time before they closed. The food was okay, nothing special and over priced. Design of the cafe was cute. We were on our way out by 2:35 pm and I overheard the staff telling a customer who had just walked in that their kitchen was closed and they were only doing drinks. If you claim to not close until 3, everything should still be available. It's a cute place with a unique menu and decent food, but the service was such a turnoff. being from nyc and having worked in dozens of restaurants, this simply would not fly. Food was not good enough to excuse bad service and being rude to customers. I would get fired from any restaurant I've worked in with that service. This restaurant wouldn't last a day nyc. So much potential to be a cute place with good food, but poorly executed... CUTE interior! Very peaceful inside, with one table conducting a business meeting and another table a group full of friends catching up. There was only one person working but she was incredibly friendly and quick with our order! I liked the different options for seating- large tables, small tables, and tables with both a booth and chair option. Taking a small bit of each item on the plate and putting it on the pita made for little bites of heaven. The Armenian Beef Sausage was a delight! I got the avo toast with two eggs and a fresh side salad, while my friend ordered the Feta Omelette... both were delicious. One of the best, if not THE best, avo toast I've ever had... the eggs were cooked perfectly. The man at the counter had a good sense of humor and was very helpful. This is a nice, clean restaurant, but the prices are high and the food was not that great. $17 for a gyro or panini. $9 for "dips" with a small bit of pita. The $9 beet yogurt salad (dip) was not appetizing. The $9 Baba Ghanoush (dip) was fizzy, like it was old. The $17 Sujok Panini ("Armenian sujok - cured beef sausage with spices - and havarti cheese pressed inside sourdough slices") was very tasty, but it was tiny with very little sausage on it. The $17 Athens Gyro ("BEEF & LAMB GYRO - Lettuce | Parsley Onions | Tomatoes | Feta Cheese | Tzatziki") is basically hamburger style ground meat fried up in a pita. This was quite tasty actually when it was hot but when it cooled down after a few bites it was not great, and it was also quite small for $17. They do have a nice sunny outdoor eating area, but I don't think we'll be returning. read more

It's a cafe where you order and pay at the front and then can sit and eat, and they serve you the food and drinks. You also clear your own table. Cafe de Miro is one of my best go-to places on a nice sunny day, rainy or a cloudy day, for a little break. I'd take anyone who hasn't been to this place to have brunch, study, or a nice coffee date. It's got the best panini and toasts to fill you up nicely and in a healthy manner. Cozy, a little pact around noon with many customers, but has a very nice vibe to it. We saw the [other 5 star] reviews and thought it was a safe bet, but it turns out to be way more than that. Authentic Turkish/Kurdish food and drink, clean and fresh, prepared and served quickly and well. We ate inside but they have tables outside too. Paninis hit the spot, and we also had the homemade hummus, muhammura spread, and beet/yogurt salad. Great flavors, all. Turkish coffee and homemade tiramisu for dessert. And if you're lucky, like we were, you will meet the owners, who are the most kind and gracious people you may meet in your day. Seriously. The food is fantastic but the experience was priceless. Cafe de Miro was underwhelming to say the least. I ordered the Miro Skillet, which is scrambled eggs with sautéed ground beef, onions, and parsley. It had a strange odor and I had to hold my breath when eating the meal, which is not a good sign. I kept having to eat the toast to make it more palatable. I'll admit that the toast was quite good. But something about this skillet was off. It was just very watery and bland. I felt like it was a breakfast I could've made myself at home in that this was really nothing special at all for going out to eat. I was surprised at the small portion size and was left feeling very hungry afterwards. For $11, I was left wanting. The restaurant is located in a nice area. The seating is quite limited. The seating is so comfy and just love everything they've done with the design! It's very different from most places in GR, very unique! There is quite a bit to choose from and we were able to get a table right away without a wait. The staff is very friendly and has a family feel! Cafe de Miro is the kind of place where you want to hangout all afternoon and catch up with a friend. The vibe is both casual and sophisticated with black and white Moorish-like tiles coupled with cigar brown leather seats. The menu includes Mediterranean/Middle Eastern dishes from various cultures - Turkish, Kurdish, Armenian. The dishes are fresh, healthy, and quite delicious. I've now been to Cafe de Miro several times, and I've never had a bad bite. Here are my favorites so far: - Lentil soup: This version blends up the lentils, and is not as thick as other lentil soups I've had. It comes off as a lighter feeling soup, made a bit heartier with the shredded chicken that's included. It's so good. - Miro Skillet: The spices in this breakfast scramble make the dish. Must try! - Beef Burek: The fillo dough stuffed with seasoned beef makes it a grown up hot pocket of sorts. It's delicious. Super cute, and delicious! I got the shakshuka and a Turkish coffee, and my friend got the avocado toast w/ Spanish cheese and an americano! Everything was absolutely delicious (as you can tell by the fact that I didn't remember to take a photo until allllll of our food was already in our stomachs, haha) The only reason I didn't give five stars is because the online menu listed wayyyy more food options than were actually available in-house. There were only 3 breakfast options, instead of the 6 listed online, and some items (like the açaí bowl and French toast) didn't appear to be anywhere on their chalkboard menu. They've got a small but excellent menu offering mediterranean fare for both breakfast and lunch. They also offer sweet treats which are beautifully displayed in a nice case. The space is very pretty and extremely well thought out. It's a great place to hang out in for an hour for a chat and a coffee. Their coffee is wonderful and their service is stellar. I saw some photos and reviews pop up for Cafe de Miro and knew I wanted to stop in ASAP because I loved the look of the furnishings and decor. I had to run an errand nearby, so I stopped in for a quick lunch. Cafe de Miro is tucked away in the Breton Village mall complex, just north of Omelette Shop. There is no visible signage for the cafe, so be on the lookout! It's right next door to Scout & Molly's. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that it is very tiny! I think I counted about 35 seats. The furnishings are so beautiful and the vibe is very European. The tile floors and wood and metal accents give it a warm, cozy feel that is pretty unique for Grand Rapids. I think it's similar to the vibe at Marcona on Lyon. When I arrived a little after noon, there were only about two seats open and only three people working. The menu at Cafe de Miro is pretty varied for such a small place. They have a few sandwiches, salads, Kurdish specialties, soups, toasts, smoothies, and a couple breakfast items. I ordered the beef borek and a bowl of the lentil chicken soup. My food came out pretty quickly as the place had cleared out quite a bit. The beef borek is a pastry with spices and ground beef inside, and it came with a side of muhammara, which was described to me as a tomato paste made with walnuts. The borek's pastry was light and tasty, with the perfect amount of meat. The bottom of the pastry was a little soggy, but it still tasted delicious. The muhammara was amazing! Super savory and concentrated tomato flavor with bits of walnuts, and a little spicy kick (I think it may be Aleppo pepper). It was unlike anything I've had before and I ended up eating it straight out of the little crock it came in. I also spread it on the borek as well as on the bread that came with my soup. I would eat that every day! The soup was hot and had a great velvety texture; no chunks of lentils which I love. The chicken was pretty much indiscernible but the flavor was great. I spoke with the owner's son, Botan, who told me they were short-staffed but asked how everything was and we chatted about his family and their recipes. They're from Turkey and I'm so glad they decided to open this little cafe! I hope it does well as it's quite different from anything else in this area but don't overlook it.
