Excellent food, and amazing service. We arrived at 5:15 for our anniversary dinner. Got right in. Had a wonderful wine , 2012 effort Pinot Noir Rose from Edna Valley. Wonderful and well priced. I had the chicken Parmesan and my husband had linguini with clams. Both were large portions and were served very hot and fresh. We were too full for dessert but the menu looked good. Feb.22, 2014 My girls and I met in the wonderful beach-side community of Cayucos for the first time. We just happened to find Cafe Della Via. It was amazing, the service was great, food even better. Our waiter was way attentive, even though the place was packed he was always checking on us. Helped us select an excellent wine. This has become our new meet up. Stopped in for dinner on a busy Saturday night. We didn't have reservations and ended up waiting about 50 min for a table. It's a small restaurant, so I can understand the long wait. The chicken parmigiana and sausage pizza were wonderful! They are very generous with the servings! We ended up taking home half of both plates. The atmosphere is friendly & lively. Cafe Della Via is an excellent place to dine. The artichoke soup was amazing and my Chicken Marsala was fantastic. We were accommodated even without a reservation and well taken care of. This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel my husband and I stayed at while were out of town, celebrating our anniversary. The server was really good. He was very personable, accomodating, and you can tell that he enjoys people. That attitude and confidence does broadcast itself loud and clear, and is so necessary in this type of service-oriented industry that demands this. I ordered the portabello mushroom ravioli, which I enjoyed, and would order again. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, which slightly disappointed him. The sauce was a little bland for his taste. Also, it would be nice if the entrees were accompanied by a soup or salad. The garlic bread was full of flavor and we would recommend this appetizer. I took a party of seven of my girlfriend's neighbors to the restaurant on Saturday night after Thanksgiving. We ordered appetizers of Brushetta, Caprese salads and grilled Portobello mushrooms; they were all outstandingly delicious and filling. I had one of my guests order the wine for the table, two bottles were a Rjoja, but I did not try the other red. Because of the size of our party, the restaurant put square tables together, so I could not see what everyone had ordered, nor could I photo any of the dishes. I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Risotto, which was very creamy and delightful. The lady to my left ordered the pork saltimbocca; she loved the dish, and the lady to my right ordered the Chicken masala which was served over Angel hair pasta. She thought her meal was lovely. We shared a piece of the chocolate cake for dessert. My guests were very satisfied and happy with the meal. I will be back for photos and to try other dishes. read more

We have been frequenting Cayucos since 1999, and Cafe della Via is a must stop for us and always has been. Before kids: a romantic dinner spot with amazing wines and desserts too. With young kids: always accomodating and nice kids menu. In fact their mediteranian salad got my kids eatting veggies! Family dinning: we always get a pizza for the table to start. Reasonable corkage fee if you just came from Paso and want to bring your own wine. Cafe Della Via never fails to have great service, and delicious food. We have held many special family celebrations at this resutaurant over the years. And when I ask my family where they want to go for Italian they always ask for Della Via (even though it's a 3-hour drive for us!) Keep up the good work CDV - don't change a thing. read more

This was fairly good. We both ordered Caesar salad. It was good but no garlic. Classic Caesar is made with garlic. I had linguine with clams. I read that their servings were large and that it would be good to split. I had very little pasta which surprised me. The flavor was good. This dish wasn't worth splitting. It wasn't very buttery. My husband had Chicken Marsala which he enjoyed. Service was okay. Our waiter seemed very busy. I an not sure I would go again. Very pricey. read more

We were excited to try this place per the reviews. While I am sure the food is great, we were very disappointed with the customer service upon arrival. We walked in and stood in the middle of the restaurant (per the layout of the room) and were ignored for 5+ minutes. Wait staff passing by and not a word, hand or nod. Then when we were acknowledged all that was said was "Do you have a reservation? If not I can't seat you until 8:30." A disappointing first experience. read more

Delicious food! Ambience is charming and the place is always packed on weekend nights - make a reservation. The place is small and there really is no good place to sit or stand while you wait. Service is good, but the real story is the food. You have to try the risotto - super creamy and great flavor -the best I've ever had! The crab cakes were cooked to perfection and the garlic shrimp was succulent. The wedge salad is plenty for 2 people - more like a half head. Save room for dessert. The bread pudding is shear decadence. It's more rustic style and not as gooey as some like, but I loved it. Corkage is a good deal at only $10 a bottle. Awesome dinner spot in Cayucos! read more

We ran into a friend who suggested this place. That night we fell in love with this restaurant. I ended up trying a small portion from almost every plate in our group. This place is phenomenal! If you are in they Cayucos, Morro Bay area, we would highly recommend going. My wife is not fond of mushroons but the stuffed portobello appetizer is the best we have ever had. We also agree that the chicken marsala is tender, juicy and extremely flavorful with its marsala sauce. It is hard to decide what to choose for dinner because everything is just that good. Just had dinner at Cafe Della Via and oh what fun! The wait staff was attentive but not in your face. This is a small place so arrive close to opening time (5) or call and make a reservation. When we arrived (Wednesday) at 5:45 there were plenty seats available, But while we were there the place filled up and the only seating was at the bar, but the people sitting there seemed to be having a great time, so it's up to you! I had the daily special angel hair pasta with chicken and a bunch of other yummy stuff! Husband had Chicken Marsiella and really enjoyed it down to the last drop of sauce! After reading recommendations on Yelp, we gave this place a try. Having three kids under 7, we went easy on the staff and patronage and ordered take out. The staff was very friendly and the order was right on time. We had the portabello appetizier - phenomenal. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and it was the best I've had from a restaurant. My wife ordered the chicken marsalla and was quite pleased. Our 2 year old spent an entire meal glued to her chair eating her spaghetti and meatballs and fresh bread, unheard of for her. When you're in Cayucos and are sick of the alaskan-imported fish and chips sham, I highly recommend you try this gem. We look forward to ditching the kiddos and going for a "sit down" meal there soon. read more
