Came here for lunch. They have a decent lunch menu with prices under $10. I ordered the Beef Kabob with rice. Prices are good but the portions are small for lunch. Only one kabob with about 4-5 small pieces of meat, one grilled tomato and some rice. Beef was tender and flavorful and the rice was a bit overcooked. We also ordered sides of hummus which was standard tasting. The decor was nothing spectacular and was kind of lacking. All in all, a decent spot for lunch, however, I would probably recommend going to Zankou down the street. read more

Wow! Best kebab in the area. Cornish hen Amazing, eggplant starter-Exceptional, soltani was fabulous but go for the Luleh kebab, their specialty didn't disappoint. And don't forget the rice with the barberries; my weakness, could have had it tor my main course. Yes that good. Finish it with the Persian ice cream and you'll find yourself in a heavenly state of diner's bliss. We just moved to Burbank and have been looking for walking distance restaurants and found this little gem. It's in a little strip mall and on our visit was totally empty. However the server quickly transformed the entire mood of the place with the lighting and music. We ordered the Barg Kabob and the Baghali Polo with chicken thighs. Wow! The chicken was super moist and perfectly seasoned and the Barg....it was EXCELLENT! The Baghali polo was good but even better with a pat of butter. If your looking to have some Iranian kebab this is the best place. Great food, great service. The place was super clean. I was greeted politely .First of all, the lady who was on the cashier was so sweet. She was patient while I was choosing my dish. She was very friendly and helpful with her recommendations of plates on the menu. I ordered lule kabab and vegetable kabab. I've never been a huge fan of the ground beef kebabs but Cafe Elegante makes them juicy and tasty. I'm a fan now. The meat and vegetables were so fresh. I was given free " Egplant dip" which was the best. The prices also are ao reasonable .Definitely going back. read more

This is a lovely surprise. Happened upon it because was in the neighborhood. Everything is delicious, plus there is so much pride in the food by the staff and owner. Totally old school place with the nice and dated charm to go with. They play great standards. Apparently business is better during lunch time as we were the only family in the entire restaurant all night--totally made the experience even better given our conversations and the quality of food and service. Went here for a lunch meeting since there's not many restaurants in the vicinity. Had the thigh kabob, cherry rice, and a side of hummus. Everything was really tasty and they served very fast. The decor is nothing to write home about, but this may be a good option for future meetings or take-out. I do wish there were another piece of two or chicken. If you like Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food served by a friendly waitress in a down-to-earth restaurant, Café Elegante is the place for you. I had had this on my list of Restaurants to Try for at least a year and finally got around to eating here a couple of years ago. Since then, I've been back many times. All the food at Café Elegante is consistently delicious, but I find it a challenge not to keep ordering the same vegetarian sampler and lamb kebob. (We often order an extra Eggplant Dip, just because it is so tasty.) Among the three of us who find this a convenient place to meet for dinner, we have likely tried most of the dishes on the menu. The meat is always perfectly cooked, as are the vegetables. To top this off, they offer a scrumptious chocolate mousse cake, rich enough for three to share. Actually everything on the menu is great. I love this place for its service and of course their food. Indeed the place does need a little revamping to bring it up to 2015 but if delicious food is what you're looking for, this should be your destination spot. Give it a try! The hummus is delicious and the lunch special is a GREAT value ($6-$7 for kabobs and rice). Here's something wild: combine their balsamic dressing with the yogurt dip and it's HEAVENLY (discovered it by mistake). I took a vegetarian coworker there last year and the restaurant has an appetizer sampler that was so big it became her entree. The owner often gives personal attention to patrons. i just had lunch here with my dad and the food was excellent. They brought us a basket of fresh pita. It was hot and there was more than enough for two people to share. We ordered the vegetarian appetizer. It included several items (tabbouleh, eggplant, tomato/cucumber, hummus, dolmas, and zatziki). It was pricey at $12 but totally worth it. My dad got the salmon kabob with a side salad and I got the chicken kabob with steamed veggies. Dad liked his salmon and although I really liked my chicken, I could tell that the steamed veggies came from a frozen mix (like something you could buy in bulk at Costco). Next time, I'll get the side salad (even though it was basically chopped Romaine lettuce) with the house dressing. This wasn't a cheap lunch. It was about $33 for our two meals, the veggie appetizer, and my iced tea. This probably isn't the place to go to if you eat out for lunch every day. The staff was very friendly and the played Sinatra while we ate (huge plus for me). Parking is a small lot, but there were a few spaces available when we got there, so no big deal. I'll definitely be coming back her for lunch and if I am in the neighborhood, for dinner as well. read more

We went to Cafe Elegante with friends who raved about it....and they were right. This is a small neighborhood restaurant tucked into a mini-mall. The main dishes are mostly variations of kebob---and they get it just right. The beef luleh is excellent and my husband recommends the lamb. The appetizer platter is a wonderful way to sample middle eastern staples. All of the food is high quality and prepared in a healthy manner--no greasy dishes here. The staff/owners are welcoming and friendly and are truly happy to see you and the prices are very reasonable.
