Cute & Conveniently located on the ground floor by 490 Post. This little Francophile coffee shop serves coffee, tea, sandwiches and nice little desserts to both Union Square tourists and locals alike. Friendly service and cozy ambiance. Located on Post and Mason.

PB Java Mocha Smoothie is what I ordered. I enjoyed it since it had a strong smooth PB taste. I couldn't taste too much of the Java. This is the most expensive drink here. $10 but it is large. The ambiance is cute because this is a small hole in the road. They sell food. Coffee and teas and cold drinks. One lady working and my drink took the longest time to make because it's complex. She was nice and answered my questions. I might come back

Excellent coffee! Nice comfy seating. Cozy shop. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. Excellent local spot for coffee, sandwich and a nice dessert. Great spot to hang out before your mezzanine show.

Cafe Encore has tasty smoothies and I would come back to try other items on their menu. My group all got smoothies consisting of PB Java mocha smoothie, fruit smoothie and a raspberry smoothie add peanut butter. The service was good, not the fastest but the team did their best to get our smoothies to us quickly. I'd suggest switching to frozen fruit for smoothies vs fresh fruit and using ice. I prefer my smoothies with a dairy free milk option and frozen fruit. Check out Cafe Encore if in the area.

Quaint Cafe with its own charm. Friendly staff and excellent croissants. Quick walk from nearby hotels and a way better breakfast experience.

Flipping love this cafe. I usually get a sando but today this Martinelli's satisfies my morning craving. Plus I only purchased it because the apple juice is in a glass bottle. Service is decent. Ambiance is chatty but relaxing especially whenever I'm just killing time before an appointment or for Union Square to open.

I came into here because I had some time to kill and wanted a pastry. The place is very small but cute. I liked the jazz music playing and they had some beautiful desserts on display. The women behind the counter weren't particularly warm or welcoming, but they weren't rude either. As others have said, this place mainly seems to cater to the grab and go audience. I ordered a blueberry muffin and found it decent. This place isn't bad, but I think I'll try the place next door next time instead.

Located right off Union Square, this gem has a very Euro vibe. We stayed at a boutique hotel steps away and in 24 hours, carried out coffees and pastries. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious. No photos. The camera didn't eat this morning. Haha! Reasonable prices for San Francisco!

This cafe is near the tour bus stop...I got a chocolate designed mousse cake for breakfast and a drink..hadn't seen this cafe on Post Street..hidden away with chairs and people..been here awhile. Tourists or locals..fun to try..

I was exploring the union square and was walking around the area. I decided to get something from this cafe and choose a Quiche. It tasted really good I had to make a review for this small Cafe. Also the staff were so nice and welcoming. With the chill music and clean place I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting the city this summer.

    Hazelnut Latte

Got the hazelnut latte, and I didn't taste any hazelnut nor coffee taste at all. Halfway through my coffee, I decided to take a peek, and the color of the coffee was really light as opposed to the natural tan color of coffee. A bit hard to tell from the photo. The place was conveniently located near the Union Square, so that part was nice.

Even so, they were refreshing that pastry case so that I was not without options. So many amazing-looking things, so I got 3 things just for myself: Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant $5.25: The classic, I had to try. And it was so good!! I thought it might be too rich, but I actually found it to be quite balanced. I loved the fresh mashed banana/banana purée inside, and it went really well with the chocolate. I didn't get a ton of almond flavor comparatively, but I appreciated the coating on the top for a heartier crunch in addition to the croissant flakiness. Like everyone else, I would definitely recommend this one! Passionfruit Bostock $4.25: The staff person helping me told me this was a good option, so I was happy about that. I would agree! It has a beautiful crisp on the outside and a moist crumb inside. The passionfruit flavor was really nice and not too strong. I believe they rotate different flavors of this one, so I'd definitely want to try more. Bostocks on the whole are underrated, and I think they have just the loveliest texture. All-in-One Cake: This is so creative. I was going to stop at the above two pastries, but when the staff person said that this cake was quite literally made up of all the other cakes seen in the case, I was already sold. How cool and creative and reduce-reuse-recycle is that!!!?? I love! And it was such a fun eat! I love how they added crust at the bottom and a gorgeous chocolate layer on top to tie everything together. And every bite was a little different: some fruity, some nutty, some crunchier. Super cool. I was able to nab a table and work a little bit, which was nice. It's a good vibe inside with a little hustle and bustle, but still cozy overall. I'll be back!

Liked this place a lot, also appreciated the extreme variety of things available (especially…read morecompared to some of my other favorite bakeries like Arsicault). Definitely go early to get everything fresh, but you probably won't run into a line if you don't. Highlight of the menu was absolutely the kouign amann - it was so buttery and flaky with this caramelized sticky sweet inside, rivaled in my eyes only by the Arsicault one. We also got the seasonal one (raspberry and guava) which was also really good. The passion fruit bostock was also interesting with this spongy cakey texture with an almond topping. The banana chocolate almond croissant was another favorite of mine, it's also such a unique item and definitely a must order. We sat inside at a table so we could eat some of the pastries right away which I highly recommend - everything lost freshness after a few hours and I probably wouldn't get anything from here again with the intention of eating it later. They have a ton of cakes too, tried the chocolate mousse cake, the berry cake, and the passionfruit orange and guava cake. The chocolate mousse was my favorite and runs on the sweeter side compared to other chocolate mousse's I've had. The other two are also amazing and have a bunch of different layers. I also tried the prosciutto burrata and cherry tomato tartine - an open faced sandwich basically - which tasted good but was kind of difficult to eat, either with hands or fork and knife. Would definitely come here again both because what I tried was so good and there are so many other things there I'd want to try.

You order before you get seated when you first walk in. Def gets busy after 12! We got the hojicha latte and strawberry latte. The hojicha was very nice and nutty. It came a little too unsweetened for my liking but they have sweetened out to adjust for your liking! I would def come back to get this! 8/10! The strawberry latte on the other hand was very overpoweringly flavored of the strawberry jam :(. I felt it tasted a bit artificial and didn't really let the matcha taste come through, I would stick to-the hojicha. 4.5/10 For food we got the fish sandwich and the pork katsu sandwich. The fish sandwich was decent, the cheese was cold but the fish was nice and flaky. I wish the fish skin was a bit more crunchy but I did like the slaw and sauce on it. 6.5/10 The pork one was soooo good and juicy. The crust was super crunchy and surrounded by the soft bread was such a nice texture. There was a sweet sauce which balanced the sandwhich nicely. Would get again! 8/10 We also saw the Japanese breakfast bento which looked realllly good and the salmon with matcha broth that others ordered and would def come back to try those! TLDR; would get the pork katsu sandwhich and hojicha. Would come back to try the bento and the salmon in matcha broth!!
