This review is about our visit in the afternoon, after an apparent change of management and staff earlier in the year.
We were unable to pay by credit card. There were no signs to in view that payment is by cash only. Cafeklein can be approached fro. two sides. The sign about "cash only" was only visible from one side - sadly, not the one we were sitting and approached. We were not about this when we ordered, and there were no signs on the table or mentioned in the menu. We had to go next door to get cash in the cold, which we found unacceptable in 2022.
Food was OK but service is not up to standard. You (the manager) blame the German bureaucracy that it takes 3 months to apply for a merchant agreement with credit card companies. You are either making this up or you are blaming someone else but yourself for this unfortunate and customer-unfriendly environment. You also told me, that you loose 10 customers a day because of this, and you seriously think I'm going to believe you?
If you do not want to accept credit cards, that is OK. Failing to inform your customers will only make them unable to pay the bill straight away and make them unhappy or angry. We live in 2022 and post-pandemic, customers expect to pay by card.
If I were you, I would better train your staff in customer service. The way your youngest staff (of also Turkish origin) behaved (beligerante and cheeky) in a conflict, made the whole situation more difficult and unbearable. Coming across as 'bitchy' is highly unprofessional.
Provide better service to keep your customers happy. Food was just ok but service is more than just serving food: It is the entire package from start to the end.
Do not blame others for something you can deal with. read more
