It's no place you'd necessarily expect in Blankenese with its reputation for whitewashed villas,…read moreriver vistas and unfair share of German-made SUVs: even after a change in ownership, Stern ("star") has remained the cheap local football sports bar. Its simple interior and thoughtless lighting gives it that definite 'Kneipe' feel. Beers are cheaper than elsewhere around, and smoking is explicitly allowed after 6pm (which means they aren't allowed to serve their cakes thereafter). I'd give it 4**** but dislike coming home smelling like an ashtray as if it was 1999. Consider yourself warned, I expect them to stick with the niche they found: At Café Stern you'll always have smoking and drinking company when watching the Bundesliga.
