Being a thin steak the cook ranged from medium well to medium rare in parts. Not like steak back in the states. I would say beef flavor came through but not enough seasoning. The patrons were all on the other side of middle-age, seemed to all know each other and were exchanging playful banter among themselves and with the bartender. There was a cozy, crackling fire - real wood, not gas, mind you, and just a general air of comfortable companionship there. I almost felt like I was intruding while quietly drinking my pint, but the occasional friendly smile from a regular kept there from being any sense that we were unwanted. It seems that the only food available is crisps and nuts, so don't go in looking for a meal, but if you're out that way on a cold, rainy night, you'd do well to stop in for a drink before you get back on your way.
