Popped into this restaurant for my brother's graduation lunch. We got there early Tuesday and had the restaurant to ourselves. The service was great and the restaurant was very clean. The bathroom is also very clean just a tad bit small, but that is okay! We got several appetizers but I only tried the conch fritters and they were tasty! I was encouraged to try the sorrel juice and I'm glad I did! The taste is a perfect balance and the ginger really is refreshing! My main entree was the herb salmon and it was truly delicious. I truly savored every bite along with the spinach and mashed potatoes that came with it. I also ordered a side of plantain because I could not resist and it was perfectly made. Lastly I got to try the bread pudding and molten cake which were both very rich and tasty. I preferred the molten cake but everyone on the table truly loved both. the food did take a little while to come out but everything was made fresh and to perfection! Everyone ordered either oxtail, jerk wings, or chicken stew and truly loved their meal. If you are looking for a filling Jamaican dish that is full of flavor this is the place to go.

8/11/24; 8/13/24 & 8/16/24 We found Cafe Mo Bay through Grubhub. We don't like going out on Sundays hehehe Our order was Ackee and Fish and Jerk Chicken and a side of Cornbread with Mango Butter. Everything was delicious!! Of course we had to go out and try in person. We got Mango Punch, Snapper Roll, Oxtail with Rice and Peas and Jerk Pork with Rice and Peas and a side of Collard Greens. Mango Punch has a hint of ginger which gives it a super refreshing taste. Snapper Roll, is genius, we've never seen fish inside a roll that wasn't sushi and it was sooooooo good lol. We wish it was more than just 2 rolls. Oxtail was tender and flavorful and Jerk Pork was delicious. The Collard Greens were good but something was missing... I didn't see any meat pieces so probably not made with ham hock or turkey so it was plain. We went back again by chance, we saw another restaurant on our way the 1st time so we wanted to try it but they were close so since we were already in the area we stopped in again :) Cod Fritter, Curry Goat with Coconut Rice and Snapper with Callao Rice and Spinach. Cod Fritter needed more fish but it was delicious and the sauce was perfect. Curry Goat was tender and so good, and I don't like goat because it can be gamey but this was not gamey. Snapper in brown stew sauce, this was different but worked! I just picked up the fish with my fingers lol Patrick the owner/chef was pleasant and a pleasure to chat with. Food does take a bit to come out but you know it is super fresh and totally worth the wait. Luckily we were there during weekdays where there are less people. I think we just found our favorite Jamaican restaurant.

Went for live music on a rainy Saturday night. White meat jerk chicken dinners. I like spicy but the sauce was very mild. Jerk shrimp great amount of spice. My plantains were dry tonight. Order cornbread with your dish. The complimentary piece will have you craving more. The staff is attentive. The food is coming out at island speed and worth it.

Stopped here around mid-afternoon on a Sunday. The restaurant sits on a busy street in Bloomfield where other eateries are. Parking in the street only but not too hard to find. I was the only customer but the young lady was very friendly and sweet., honoring when I needed time and even suggesting some dishes. The atmosphere is a chill vibe. Nice jazz music playing, place is clean and nicely decorated. I ordered the jerk chicken wrap (to dine in) and the jerk chicken spring rolls to go. Now onto the food. The jerk chicken wrap and salad was nicely presented, however lacked flavor. There was a small hint of jerk flavor that I detected but other than that, nothing. I am quite used to Caribbean food and flavor as I grew up on it, so I know what to look for. There were only 3 spring rolls and they were small. Most especially for $12. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed especially since they got great reviews. I guess the food is better in the evening when they have more customers? I was the only customer the entire time I sat there.

Food , service, Ambiance... EXCELLENT. This place never ever misses. We even got catering from here for our baby shower and the food disappeared in minutes! Small mom/pops restaurants. Always great Caribbean jams. The food and the flavors are always consistent. Literally the best Caribbean restaurant iv ever had, and around the area. A must! . All different visits.

Gimme'Mo Cafe MoBay!! Great choice for my brothers birthday brunch! The aroma drifting from the kitchen stirred my appetite. We were greeted and seated right away by the waitstaff of 1. He brought us glasses right away when he saw we brought a bottle of bubbly. He explained the menu and the specials and left us to decide. The appetizers came out piping hot and flavorful! The cod fish fritters were my favorite. The apps were brought out in a timely manner with more than enough time to enjoy before the main dishes arrived. I ordered the goat stew which I enjoyed very much. This highly flavored dish made my mouth water. The meat was tender, the rice was fluffy and the cabbage was very tasty. I had a bite of the chicken stew, the pork and the ox tails which were all delicious. Will definitely order the ox tails my next visit. The food was plated very nicely. I was very impressed with what seamed to be a 2 person team. Although the dining room was not packed for lunch, we were a group of 7 adults and all went well. Will definitely return for the ox tail dinner when in the area or craving Caribbean food.

So glad they were open in the middle of the winter storm! Very clean restaurant, amazing staff and exceptional customer service. The OX Tails?! OMG!!!! So good! I will definitely try them again when I am in town from Los Angeles.

First time ordering take out from this restaurant. I ordered the jerk turkey burger. I received a burnt bun. I called to inquire about why they would even serve this to a customer. The manager I spoke with a male who would not give me his name stated he saw the bun and it was not burnt. So I decided to take a picture. He was very rude and disrespectful and told me then return the bun period. Mac and cheese was dry and reheated probably for the 10th time today. Shame on you guys. I don't know how you are still in business.

My friend & I came for dinner and I have to say, we enjoyed every single bite. The place was small and cozy, and can accommodate small to large groups. The owner/chef was friendly and the service was good. The food was delicious and came out piping hot. Everything was tasty with just the right amount of spice and heat. The price is reasonable, but be aware that the prices on the menu did not reflect the prices we were charged. We will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes.

This place is great! We got the yucca puffs and the vegetarian roti. Both were amazing. The yucca puffs come with this delicious sauce. The roti is pretty large, and has a large variety of vegis, and a really good flavor. It's not the only Jamaican restaurant in Bloomfield, but the vibe/inside is much more eat-in worthy than its competitor. The inside is nicely decorated and the music is great. I would totally go back here. Oh and btw - good for vegetarians too!

By the amount of pictures taken you should' be able to tell that I completely love this restaurant. First off, the pricing was perfect and matched the quality and quantity of each plate received. There was nothing we got that was not delicious. From the hot sauce which was so hot it made me hallucinate to the oxtail, every thing we ordered was 5/5. I can' sit here snd comfortably say that my experience here was nothing short of 10/10. The cod fish fritters - fried perfectly, nice amount a dough with a crazy good flavor. The sauce it comes on top of is also marvelous I think it was honey ginger. Awesome Three cheese baked macaroni and cheese- See, Im picky about my Mac & cheese but this one delivers. The top was nice and crusty while the inside was melted, hot & steamy greatness. Will definitely be getting again. Sorrel- refreshing every time but this is the best batch I've ever had. I wish I had rum because it would've been a match made in heaven. Hot Banana bread- I was going for the peach cobbler but god told me this will be just as good and let me tell you...it was! One of the best desserts ever. The hot sauce - this hot sauce teeters on in great and absolutely amazing. The island curry island shrimp. This is hands down some of the best shrimp I've ever had. If you know New Jersey you know we do seafood very well but not every place that sells seafood has quality shrimp. Cafe mobays shrimp was like it was caught and prepared within the same hour. It was fresh, peeled well, cooked to perfection. I hate when i order shrimp and it comes back so small and less than bite sized. This was perfect and I had leftovers that were just as good. Overall I have come back here 3 times since this post and I will continue to return where great food is served and so should you.

At a Thai spot, I expect to see Thai people. At a Mexican spot, I expect to see Mexicans. You get the picture. So at this Haitian restaurant, there are always Haitians enjoying the food -- which tells you everything you need to know. If you're looking for an upscale yet still authentic Haitian restaurant, this is it. No matter what you order, they always start you off with a soup that's hot, rich, and flavorful. I usually begin with the Haitian caviar and smoked fish empanadas, then move on to either the Saveur Creole goat or the red snapper -- always with extra gravy, because I can't resist pouring it over their black rice (don't judge me). It's BYOB, so bring your drink of choice or grab something from the shop right next door. Another thing I love is that the owner, Robert, is usually there. He'll stop by your table, talk with you, and make the meal feel like a real experience. And if you admire the artwork on the walls -- he painted all of it himself. If you go, tell him I sent you... maybe then he'll finally sell me one.
