*Note: This is a 4.5 Star review…read more Since the past weeks have been very, very hot and humid, I've been craving for cold desserts. My new favorite dessert at the moment is Bingsu! While I was down South, my friends and I decided that it would be great to end the night with something icy to cool down. We actually weren't sure where to get Bingsu but, thankfully, we found this hidden gem at Molito. Bingsu is basically the Korean version of shaved ice or halo halo. Imagine soft, icy snow with condensed milk poured on top then add any toppings of your liking: from mochi to fresh fruit to brownies! We arrived almost to closing time but they still allowed us to order. We decided to try the regular size of the Injeolmi, Mix Berry Yogurt, and Mango (of course!). There was a bit of wait since we were the last order and they ran out of ingredients and had to prep for more. So, we waited for about 15-20 minutes. While we were waiting, we decided to hangout in their "Snow Room"! Yes, they have a small room in the café where "snow" falls from the ceiling. Pretty cool making snowballs! :) After hanging out in the snow, our bingsu orders arrived. Among the 3 that we ordered, the best was actually the Injeolmi! It's was the most traditional one and it was also the most flavorful. It had the right amount of sweetness and it was packed with ingredients. The Mix Berry Yogurt was tart and had dried fruit which added the sweetness. The Mango Bingsu was a winner. But, I always ended up going back for more spoonfuls of the Injeolmi! The one common factor for all the Bingsu we ate though is that the ice was sooo fine, fluffy and creamy. One of the best quality bingsu I've tried so far! I will definitely come back when I'm in the South again. I hope I'll be able to try their Cheese Bingsu next time! :)

The snow room in the cafe was a pretty fun touch. The desserts they serve were certainly fun and just the goodness we needed. We ordered the chocolate snow ice, the small one, certainly, it was enough for two to share as a dessert. I'm used to the Taiwanese snow ice and this is certainly something new. Reminded me of the snow ice, but the ice was really flakey and soft, super fun for the palette. The chocolate wasn't overly sweet and was just plain enjoyable. We were already eyeballing the menu for our next visit and scoping out the other tables. It all looks so good!! If you need a cool pick me up... This should certainly do the trick! Delicious and surprisingly, affordable. They serve their classic churros fresh and hot, and the hot chocolate dip dark and rich. Everything about it makes me think of #rainydaygoals hahaha. Their chocolate-covered churros are served cold, which can be paired perfectly with their latte. We had those big order of classic churros (around 12?), a couple of flavored ones (Dulce de Leche for the win!) and some choco-coated churros for a little over 500 pesos. Not bad, eh? For those of you that don't know what it is, kesong puti is our answer to the highly-coveted dairy products around the world. It's white cheese similar to cottage cheese made from unskimmed carabao's milk. It has a soft texture and a slightly salty taste. I place kesong puti on almost everything I eat; on toast, on baked tomatoes or in my salad. It adds zing to my meals, especially the kesong puti from Mr. Moo's. They have other things too like fresh carabao's milk and organic soaps but the best thing they sell here is their kesong puti. Tips: 1. Buy a baguette from the French Baker (it's on the right side of Mr. Moo's) slather kesong puti on it, drizzle with herbs then toast until golden brown.

The classics compose of favorites that will never go away. It's food that you will always remember, a staple that will remain indefinitely. It will never require revisions or any additions for it is already seen as close to perfection. Take for example the classic butter cake from Vargas Kitchen. It's been around for many years now and it has withstood the test of time and magnitude of our trendy food scene- and all within reason. Nothing out there comes close to perfection except perhaps the most buttery cake in all of Manila. Tips: 1. First-timers? Start off with the Vargas butter cake then proceed with their brazo de mercedes. 2. You can also buy food good for a party. I highly recommend their bacalao and Illongo pork chicken adobo.

When you order a halo-halo at Razon's, your glass will be filled with sweet macapuno, slices of matamis na saging na saba, finely crushed ice, drizzled with milk and topped with slivers of Leche Flan. The Razon's halo-halo has that wow factor in that when people get one for themselves, they look like they hit the jackpot. Well, it's true for me and the rest of my family. There are still a lot to love from Razon's of Guagua aside from their ever famous halo-halo. Their Pancit Luglug is so worth the wait. It's the best luglug that I have tasted so far! There are plenty of places out there to get cake, but few are as great in terms of value as Banapple Pies and Cheescakes. I got introduced to this by my sisters who are so sweet. They come home sometimes carrying desert with them. That one time they came home they had this simple looking chocolate cake. I ended up eating a slice more than I should. They told me that the cake was from Banapple and that you could only get it from the North. I am so happy that they decided to open a Banapple Pies and Cheescakes here in the south, at Alabang Town Center no less. This place always gets my vote when we go out for dinner and start asking each other what we'll have for dessert.

Loved the interiors of the place and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Happy to know that they offer soy milk too! I got a soy milk latte that was prepared well and they didn't rush preparing the coffee. Coffee itself was roasted well and not too acidic. Will go back again when I'm in town.
