Tried a different dish today. it was not a home run. So next time back to tried and true. the salad was lettuce tomato only and my stomach acid is not crazy about tomatoes so i just had lettuce with dressing. roll was excellent. chicken fried chicken with gravy tasted very good although i was expecting a real chicken breast and not a commercial chicken patty. nevertheless it was tiny but it tasted good. i could not eat that mashed potatoes. don't know what happened there. tasted like dish liquid. read more

We drive past this place often and rarely go inside because the food just isn't what I like to eat. But last week my husband wanted to go to Cafe USA. Cafe USA is full of Knickknacks and stuff on display. I kept wondering how they keep the dust from collecting on them and who's got time to clean them. Anyway, we both had chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans and cornbread. Sounds good huh? Well, the chicken fried steak was pretty good. It was hot and tender. Nice and crunchy. The gravy definitely didn't taste like someone made it from scratch. Now, the mashed potatoes tasted just like my momma's. (Which means they came from a box.) I liked them ok because that's what I grew up on. But they needed more water because they kept falling apart. I only ate a bite of cornbread because it was cold. I've heard breakfast is great here. My friend and I visited this place for the first time on July 16th, we are from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. From the moment we walked in, we were so impressed with all the photographs, flags and memorabilia of our military heros. Our waitress Kelley was so nice and attentive and the food was great. This place is a definite repeat. Upon arriving I was greeted by friendly staff and given coffee right away! It was hot and they had sweetener and creamer within reach so I didn't have to ask. One waitress was a tad rude when I showed that yelp offered a 10% discount on my order, but once she verified with the owner she was okay (I get it, I would have done the same thing), the scrambled egg with cheese and mushrooms was cooked perfectly and the waffle I ordered was hot and fresh! They have been very attentive of me and other customers who seem to be regulars here. I love the patriotic vibe I see here. Also being that it's close to the base I can see why military would frequent this spot. I like going here for breakfast, mostly. I think they have the best biscuits in town. They have a lot of regulars, but everybody is welcome.

For some reason this place reminds me of 'I FRY' restaurant, they REALLY know how to fry and everything they fry is just perfect! Not mushy, oily, soggy, or greasy, but crispy and crunchy! I loved the fried catfish the most; however, you can also try fried chicken and chicken fried steak. You will not regret it! ^_~ I took one star off because some items were burnt and some were a little bit too salty for me. But most of fried items are really good!!! Service is good and the restaurant is clean. Prices are reasonable. This is really a nice place to go for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. lol read more

Cafe USA is a simple home cooked meal type of place. The workers are always so friendly and the food is consistently good.

Stopped by there for breakfast this morning. They don't open until 6am. I go there around 545am and some of the regulars were already there. I opened the door and asked if it was ok to come on in and was greeted with a big hello and yes it was fine to come in. The lady waiting the counter took my drink order and told me they were still getting everything started in the kitchen and it'd be a few minutes. I ordered pancakes, two scrambled eggs and pan sausage. Even though they were just getting everything up and running I still didn't have to wait long on my order. Pancakes were really hot, fresh off the griddle. They were decent sized and pretty good. Eggs were very good. How can scrambled eggs be bad huh? I guess it's just the flat top at a restaurant that makes them taste better. They were cooked just right. This place is always packed. My bill came to just over $13 with a tip so that's about the same you'd pay at any of the chain places. The food was good. Service was fast and super friendly. I'll be back to try something for lunch soon. read more

Cafe USA is all Americana decor but may not be for everyone. It's for people who love America even with flaws. Some people may be offended by some of the decor. I'm proud to be an American and wouldn't live anywhere else so I was fine with the decor. We had breakfast. The prices were better than anywhere we have been in a while and the food was great as well. The place was packed so the time it took to get the meal was understandable. I would eat there regularly if I lived close by. read more

This place seemed nice but then I came in and got two mugs of coffee with lipstick still on it. It seemed like all they did was bring it back from a customer, filled it up with coffee and handed the cup to another. Not only my cup, but also my husband's cup had nice red lipstick imprinted from the previous drinker. Just gross. The picture was mine after I had sipped on it without realizing. I visited this place yesterday morning for breakfast. The staff was friendly and the cafe seemed pretty homey. I ordered the Western omelet (ham and onions, but I got it without the peppers), hashbrowns, and bisquits and gravy. The omelet was absolutely delicious; I was really impressed with it. The biscuits and gravy were also very good. I had no complaints for these. The only reason I give this reataurant 4 stars is because the hashbrowns weren't that great. When I received them, the hashbrowns were a little cool. They also tasted harder than they should have been like a very slight stale taste. I was a little disappointed with the hashbrowns, but everything else was wonderful. I also had their coffee and it was good. I would recommend this restaurant and who knows? Maybe the hashbrowns are usually better than that. read more

In town over night and wanted fried fish...bad decision to choose this place. The fish tasted like fried cardboard...absolutely no flavor. The mashed potatoes and gravy was stiff and the gravy was tart. Never had tart gravy! The coleslaw looked like mayonnaise soup with cabbage floating. She is not the one providing the review.....so 5 stars. If you did not like the way your food was made, be more specific on your food next time. My daughter likes the eggs runny, bacon one step away from food poisoning, and hash browns to the point of the old-school, canned, potato sticks that have ruined my generation's arteries. I had high hopes for this place, but it left a lot to be desired. The first time we went, it was a pick up order. Food was ok, but they made my daughter's hamburger wrong, and forgot to give me the fries on my order. Although frustrating, we know that things happen, and let it go. The second time, we ate there for breakfast. I ordered French toast, but the egg was raw from the French toast not being cooked long enough, so I got a plate full of doughy French toast that looked like just mixed pancake batter on my fork.
