The Swede was longing for a cup of coffee since he never got a proper fika in Copenhagen and I was hungry after the "road trip". This cafe has a nice review on yelp, albeit only one and it's located on the side street of the main shopping street, so there's a chance that it's not a tourist trap. Service: Super friendly - I guess that's how people are outside of Copenhagen *ahem* Unlike many cafes in Copenhagen where you're supposed to get your own food, we only need to secure our own table first. Food and drink were delivered to our table with a smile. Location: A quiet side street with a nice backyard when the sun is out. It's a cozy little cafe that is absolutely great for fika stop. Food: We were looking for more solid lunch and they only had sandwiches and salads so we ended up ordering something called "flad mad". I initially thought that it would be some sort of panini, but nope, it's just a piece of bread with selection of topping. I ended up getting tuna mousse that was good but that's just about it and the bread is only one piece. Granted that it cost only 35kr I guess it's fair enough, but the mousse was plenty and I wish they could've given us one more bread (surely rye bread is not costly?). I didn't taste the coffee but the boyfriend said it was good enough - so there you go, good enough it is. Three stars. The cakes looked amazing tho' - not those fancy schmancy cakes but just ordinary homemade cakes, but they looked and smelled amazing. Maybe someday I'd be destined to taste the cake.

The staff is friendly and there is open seating (as well as TWO stalls in the clean bathroom). We both had sandwiches which were open faced, but came with extra bread (soft and hearty) and a side salad with cucumbers, pumpkin seeds, radishes, cabbage, etc. I had the mozzarella and Serrano ham with sundried tomatoes and olive tapenade. The tapenade was extremely generous (I couldn't finish it) and the flavors were very harmonious. However, I wish the tomatoes were a little more sundried - they were kind of mushy and too juicy. I would definitely recommend stopping in here. If you don't do lunch definitely get some of the delicious classic cakes (apple, etc.) on display. Yum!

Many different colours, different types of furniture from different eras and paintings all mixed (and not matched) throughout the room. When I got visitors I usually take them here to grab some breakfast. We have tried the breakfast buffé and were not huge fans, but they have a menu where you can choose between a couple of sandwiches and some salads. It can be really crowded at times which makes it hard to find a place to sit and it also makes the noise level very high. They do have a back area where the breakfast buffé is served with some extra (not as cozy) tables, but this is also the childrens area, so the sound level is, as you probably can imagine, not much lower here. ;) It can be crowded not only where you sit down to enjoy your food, but also when you stand in line to order. And since they don't take orders at the table this often results in a long queue squeezed in between the front window and the cashiers desk. Not only is it a tight fit when trying to get your order through but escaping that queue in the other direction can be a nightmare which makes it all a bit stressful. On top of that, the prices are quite high. I mean, they do have quality products, but for the hassle mentioned above it does take away from the overall experience as well. All in all, it is a place where I bring guests once to check out the nice interior and enjoy a good sandwich and some coffee out of old granny style cups. If you want to go somewhere to work / chill out there are better places.

It's a bit expensive compared to other places, but it's worth it. The have amazing cakes! Try going there for a brunch on Sundays but remember to book a table in advance - and not just three days before. This year they won the award for the best gløgg (similar to gluhwein) and it's good and it hits you hard! Don't plan on going home by car afterwards.
