Came here for a live performance for Beatles covers. The tables are a little bit too close to each other and it's extremely hard to even get in your seat I felt suffocated. There's also a 2 item order minimum per person which I think is too much since we already paid for the performance. I got the peach mocktail and it was too sour and I didn't like it. The cocktails like aperol spritz come in very small glasses as well. The French fries were good and crispy though.

Cafe Wha? never disappoints. Every time I step into that legendary basement in Greenwich Village, I leave feeling more alive than when I walked in. The energy, the history, the sound -- it's electric. But what truly takes it over the top is Robin Andre. His stage presence, vocals, and connection with the crowd are next level. When Robin's on the mic, you're not just watching a show -- you're part of it. If you haven't experienced a live set at Cafe Wha? (especially with Robin in the lineup), add it to your NYC bucket list. It's more than music -- it's magic.

The cover charge was reasonable on Sunday night, @$10pp. The House Band was great and very talented. Everyone seemed to gave a great time. Highly recommended.

Came here to observe a performance by The tall Black guy & Zo. The place was really small & if you are looking for space away from others this is not for you . There is a 2 order minimum per person . I ordered a fruit punch juice & Nachos. The Nachos I will say was the worst I've had . The vibe overall was good & the performance was amazing .

Great food (nachos are bomb), and great music. We had a res and they did have us sit outside for 20 min past it, but when we got in they had a table near the stage saved for us and the food/drinks service came quick, so that made up for it. Vibes are 10/10, loved the band so much we followed them to their next gig that night. Most people end up getting up like it's a concert, so just do that early if you're short.

I had been eagerly looking forward to visiting this legendary spot since our plans to visit NYC for NYE were finalized several months ago. I was not disappointed at all. We were able to witness one of the best house bands we've ever seen; an incredibly versatile and talented collection of musicians. Shout out to management and the waitstaff for making our night special. The top highlight of a great winter trip (even more fun than watching The Ball Drop!).

This cafe is ok. It's a popular music venue, but unfortunately both the layout and practices are really disappointing. First of all, seating here is terrible. They cram you into small tables with no view of the stage. We were lucky to get a good view, but many others are not lucky. Second, they have no phone service or WiFi down here. It's really disappointing that they don't provide WiFi for patrons, especially knowing that being in a basement kills phone service from all providers. Last, they have a minimum food and drink purchase per person even if you buy a show ticket. They make you purchase 2 items per person, sodas and water not included. Every food item is $12+, and drinks start at $9 and go up to $20. You can easily double what you spent on the concert in just following this, in my opinion, terrible rule the venue sets. I will say that their French fries are awesome and served with a sauce I can only compare to an unsweetened Chick-Gil-a sauce. Overall, this venue could use many improvements and changes to their "rules" to make this a better experience overall.

Didn't know what I was expecting but left having so much fun, listening and bopping along to such talented musicians!

As seems to be the theme in New York City, I loved the look and feel of this place. I was also hyped up by the bouncer for my outfit which made me feel really cool and fresh. But our waitress was not very patient or friendly. Very pushy and frustrated because I couldn't hear over the music. This always makes me feel badly as someone with hearing problems; despite letting her know she was still condescending and rude. This was definitely a disappointment. I love music, I love history, and combining the two was something I was really looking forward to enjoying. Unfortunately the waitress kept making us feel uncomfortable, coming over way more than necessary despite ordering a good amount of food and drinks, so we ended up leaving a bit earlier than we initially planned. I hope our next visit to Cafe Wha? will be better. I just wish my first experience was. Otherwise great drinks, great live music & great hype man.

The downside is that it is tough to get reservations but if you aren't in a rush, you can put your name down, get a drink while waiting and stalk the bar. This method has worked out both times. So far I have tried the following dishes which I love equally and honestly cannot bring myself to rank in an order: - truffle monkey bread - shrimp pasta - lobster pasta - lemon meringue - chocolate cake (not pictured, demolished before I got a chance) I look forward to many more visits here, especially to try the burger and the martinis!

The Thick Cut Bacon (8.5/10) was sweet, crunchy, and cooked perfectly. The Wagyu Cheeseburger (7.5/10) tasted good, but the bun was too dry, dense, and oversized for the burger. The King Crab Rangoon (8/10) was packed with crab, almost too much for my taste, but the sweet chili and hot mustard sauces balanced it out nicely. The Espresso Martini (6/10) was a pretty standard espresso martini. The Long Island Cold Brew (3/10) tasted like cold brew mixed with vodka, which just wasn't for me. Service was fine overall (7/10). The highlight was the complimentary sorbet they brought out for my friend's birthday. The vibes were classic Hogsalt with dim lighting, old-school jazz, and a cozy atmosphere (7/10).

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

Appetizers: the octopus carpaccio was the best and I'd order again. The tuna tartare was a little too heavy on the sauce flavor, and the golden beets were unmemorable. The yellowtail was good I think, but didn't stand out either. Mains: the duck borek has more of a sausage like meat texture. I thought it was decent but the meat being duck didn't do much and I've had better boreks in Astoria. It comes with a vegetable side that is a nice offset. I tried a friend's lamb chops and this was really good with the cooked cherries.
