Solid wood table with space to make art or meet new friends

Cafe Zing is proof positive that Cambridge loves lingering...as long as you don't have your car in the parking lot for more than two hours! Walk, cycle, MBTA, pogo stick or coast your way for a leisurely time with good food, books to browse/buy, and artists/wise wanderers of all ages. Rotating events make this space cozy and caring for all

Great bookstore w great coffee. What else do you need? Good scones n other baked goods. I was staying at a hotel nearby n was in need of good coffee.

Was very excited to try this bookstore coffee shop but left disappointed. The only thing I appreciated were the vibes. My bagel was cold and hard even after being toasted. I think they forgot about it because it was sitting there for a few minutes hence why it was cold. I couldn't even finish it, it was so hard. I did not like the lavender latte at all but thats just my personal taste. They also have many tables but they were all full so I had to sit at the crowded counter and it was very uncomfortable. Would be back here for the books but not the cafe.

    Tofu summer rolls

Bookstore cafe with lots of seating available, my favorite spots are at the windows. Was there on a Sunday and they had live music as well as a pop up thrift market. I ordered the tofu summer rolls which were served in an instant (as they were already prepared) and came with delicious peanut sauce on the side. The baristas were attentive when I asked them to fill up the communal water pitcher. Great place to study, read, or catch up with friends

Dirty chair with crumbs and hair
    Anabelle K.

9am on 12/18/2024: the place was dirty. Look at this chair. There's crumbs, there's hair, and it was empty for a while before i sat close to it. The girl at the cashier was particularly unfriendly.

Great, friendly vibes! Stopped by for some coffee, sweets and books - was not disappointed. Was able to find a seat with a nice view while enjoying my Matcha Latte and Scone. The barista was very respectful and friendly as I was clearly out of my element when ordering a drink (I usually get a medium black coffee). They were able to recommend something to my liking and ended up with the Matcha Latte. The latte was nice but not as sweet as I expected. Still good. The scone was a bit harder on the outside but had a nice moist interior. Nothing to write home about but did do us good after a long morning. After all this we were able to explore the bookstore with their plethora of genres and Knick knacks.

Cute bookstore cafe with a modest drink selection. The coconut mocha was very yummy. Seating and outlet access are limited, fyi. Overall a great spot to curl up and read or get light work done.

Pretty mediocre service. Placing my order was like pulling teeth and they were very slow.

The coffee is just okay, seating is limited, and why the heck does any place keep the front doors wide open on a cold day in late November?

The chai was delicious and the atmosphere was fun. I love bookstores and having a snack there was enjoyable...then I went shopping.

Is this a good place for small group meet ups?

This is finally showing its character as a great place to meet up or relax solo. I wish It could expand into a store with popup exhibits and maintain itself as a cafe and reading too. Cambridge Naturals as a partner doesn't thrill me, and I hope…

I can honestly say it's one of the best little cafes we've ever visited. I had never tried ube before, and for anyone unfamiliar like I was, it's a purple yam. I ordered the Banana brulee Cold Foam, and it was incredibly refreshing and packed with the perfect blend of flavors, topped with fresh bananas. It was absolutely delicious! The bread completely surprised me. It was evenly baked, incredibly moist, and somehow crafted to pure perfection. The ice cream was a treat as well, but honestly, everything we tried was phenomenal. We can't wait until our next trip to Massachusetts just so we can enjoy a few more bites. I also loved the purple theme throughout the cafe, although maybe I'm a little biased since purple happens to be my birthstone! One of my favorite touches was the owners' book, where you can see pictures and learn more about their story. It really adds a personal touch to the experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we would definitely recommend this place for a quick snack, dessert, or beverage. There is some temporary street parking available as well. If you're in the area, Kuya Jay's Ube Cafe is absolutely worth a visit!

The wait wasn't too bad and the menu had a good selection of ube flavored drinks and treats. The spot is located in this public space with nice lighting and some seating. The area also does cooking classes and has some areas to study. I actually got two drinks to try both and they were tasty - not amazing, but not bad given the price. Overall, I didn't mind the experience, but I have seen some troubling things online regarding permits that deter me from coming back unfortunately. Drinks tasted fine though!

The people are always smiling and although dogs are not allowed but they do let you in with your buddy for picking up orders. I've even popped into the photobooth on a quiet day, which was a fun experience. Today I ordered ahead and found a seat near the back. I went up to the pickup counter a few minutes before the estimated pickup time and watched as people got their orders. A few minutes after my pickup time when the rush died down a little (order status was still pending), I still didn't hear my name or see my strawberry lemonade and bagel sandwich on the counter so I checked in with an employee. I gave them my name and the employee gestured to a hot latte. It obviously wasn't my order so I asked again if there was an order for Deborah and again, the employee rather impatiently insisted that the latte was mine. I had to clarify my name again before they finally took a look at a bagel that had been sitting right in front of them. They didn't even apologize and said something about someone else taking my strawberry lemonade before finally making me my drink. My drink was good but my sandwich was lukewarm. Weird interaction that left a bad taste. I've never had a strong reason to come back to Diesel but I now have a reason to stay away.
