Slow turn out last weekend. A few toys like this lambo ... sweet

Cool show for motor heads and car buffs. Took 12 teenagers last weekend in the mist and rain, not many people there but still fun. All types of classics, exotics, unique cars and trucks. Funnest today were the burn outs leaving until the cops came, but some amazing speed off the line for many. Heading back in good weather to better enjoy the road trip here from Gainesville. The boys had their cars there- rookies here, but they had a ball. Great way to get 17 yr olds anxious to trick out their $2000 cars!! At perimeter mall, next to McDonalds , the parking lot is chorded off starting early am to 11. Can't wait to go back when it's sunny

Certainly one of the better car shows in the Atlanta area and in Georgia as a whole. Hundreds of cars of all flavors were on display. While most car shows feature one theme or another - the most common being American muscle cars - Caffeine & Octane seems to attract the new and the old, with probably a higher proportion of new cars than you find find at other shows. Lots of new Mustangs, Challengers, 370Zs, parked alongside, well, everything. I was particularly pleased to see a couple of nice Datsun Z cars. Cars tend to start leaving at 10 AM, so get here early if you want to see them all. I did note that a few cars showed up late including a couple of new McLarens.

Free to attend and free to display your car, Caffeine and Octane is a great way to spend time with family and friends checking out the 2500 cars that typically show up on the first Sunday morning each month. https://vimeo.com/392811507

Getting way too crowded. Needs to be relocated to Gwinnett Mall. More room, easier to get to.

They seem to run about every 15 minutes, so it is easy to be picked up and dropped off. Like the majority of all festivals in Atlanta, this one sells the typical candles, wood work, paintings, clothing, etc. We discovered a few vendors selling unique metal work that we have not seen at the other festivals. This is a smaller festival, but still fun for the family. They have about 100 or so vendors. [Review #378] (24th Review of 2016)

ROSWELL ARTS IN THE PARK…read more Arts in the park is an annual event that takes place in September. It is held at Town Center in Roswell. Although I have attended other art event, (Mother's Day weekend), at this location, I somehow expected this event to be different but it wasn't. This venue is so small and so crowded, that there was simply not enough room for me to even take out my wallet. We lasted about 20 minutes before it just got to be too much. This is probably the perfect venue for someone who just wants to go in, purchase a piece of art and go home. I like to tend events to actually purchase, jewelry, home decor and clothing items and so I tend to frequent very large festivals that involves the entire town, (Moonshine, Duluth Fall Festival, Gold Rush). I love having tons of artists using various mediums and I really like being able to find interesting and unique foods to eat. With the larger events, we enjoy spending the entire day listening to music and watching performers. After 49 years, I would think that this event would be much bigger and have a more suitable space. Although we did not make a purchase today, we can say that there were some beautiful displays of art: phenomenal water colors, pottery, hand carved items, and so much more. I really felt that the vendors are at a disadvantage when they are crowded into such tight quarters because some people just need space, (physical and mental) to shop. I know I do! The great news is that you don't have to fight with parking. Simply park at City Hall and ride the festival shuttle. The drivers are always on time and very polite.

Careful, it gets VERY hot on a June day in Atlanta. I recommend coming in the morning if you're afraid of it getting super hot. My friends and I had tents selling crafts here and it can get miserable so make sure you bring lots of water. This festival had crafts on the far right end of the street with soaps, art, carvings, and all kinds of things. THere are some local businesses of course handing out info and free giveaways such as chiropractic, roof cleaning, and other services. I thought the free food giveaways were a bomb. There was a local peach stand which was awesome, free bags of local organic quinoa chips, and other fun give aways. The local P'tree corners stand will hand out tote bags, I love P'tree corner banners, and free hand paddle fans which you definitely need. There is a giant guy about 7'2 walking around in a peach costume and another guy on stilts as a tree so make sure you see those two. There is live music and I honestly thought for a small festival, the entertainment was VERY good. GOod voices and very good talent. Definitely worth listening to and crucial to keeping everyone happy in such a warm day. Check out the stands that have hot dogs and funnel cakes! There are portable bathrooms at the end and there are cars at the end with some fancy car show going on for car enthusiasts!

FESTIVAL TIME, (Peachtree Corners)…read more I attended this festival a couple of years ago with my family and we all had a very nice time. The parking is great and there are shuttle carts that take you from your car to the venue or you can easily walk. It was a hot day and we were lucky enough to have the mayor as our driver. The festival is great for families because they have activities for everyone. The little ones will love the bounce house, face painting and other activities, everyone will enjoy wandering from table to table checking out the arts and crafts and who doesn't LOVE classic cars! It is just the perfect opportunity to get out, listen to live music, get some fresh air and just meet people. This year the festival will be marked by a pre-festival concert on Friday night, (June 12th) and the actual festival begins on Sat at 10am and continues until Sunday evening. Clear your calendar and save the date!

Parking in the daily area at the Brookhaven Marta Station is permissible and free and easy, but expect a 15 min walk to the festival entrance. Seriously, it is a HIKE up Apple Valley just to get there. Tickets are reasonably priced: $5 if you paid in advance, $10 at the door and this entitles you to a wristband to prove that you are a paying attendee and you get a spoon for all of the little sample cups of chili you would like to try. You can enter the festival without paying and if you are not really a chili person, but are attending with others who will be more likely to get their money's worth, I say, don't pay and just walk in and explore. The festival has very LONG hours - from 11 am to 7 pm, so one would expect that you could go most anytime in the afternoon and be able to try a variety of the chili cookoff entries, but nope, almost everything was completely gone by 1:30 or 2 pm, so go early! Beer lines were very long early in the day, perhaps as many as 40 people in line, so that was a slow process. These did clear up later and the price for a 16 oz beer was fair at $5. There were 3 live bands who performed and the caliber of music was good, so an enjoyable backdrop to the festival. Overall, a fun fall event for a short while if you are in the area, or really like chili!

For just $5 you got unlimited tastings of restaurant and home-prepared chilis, and after three trips through the various lines I definitely feel I got my money's worth. They plan on having more eating areas set up in the shade for next year and trying to expand to offer more things to do before and after the chili tasting hours, but there was a good turnout for a first time event, especially considering it was competing against Music Midtown. I do plan on coming back next year!
