I've been to the Oh My Biche in Columbier twice for brunch, but decided to try the special lunch…read moreitems at the Mail location. It's definitely not as well known and the inside is a lot smaller (only two tables inside) than the original Columbier location, but service is and ambiance are just as great. My friend and I went on a Wednesday at 12pm, and there were only two other parties sitting outside, so we got to snag the inside table. The owner, who I've noticed works at both locations, and a server were the only two workers in the FoH, but both were super sweet and explained to us the menu in English. I got the Mommy's Dwich (€10) and their famous Snickers (€5) and my friend got the Weekly special (White fish in a coconut milk with pumpkin puree and seasonal veggies - €9,50) and the cheesecake (€4). There was a hefty portion of roasted beef on top the open faced sandwich, with a nice hearty gratin sitting between the beef and the perfectly toasted brioche bread. It came with a side of salad and tartar sauce (which I didn't use). The portion, like all plates I've had here, was a little small for the price (and as I've mentioned in my review for the original location, I never leave this place full, but I always leave satisfied with my choices haha). The roast beef didn't have much flavor which I was a little sad about, but the gratin was delicious and creamy, and the brioche was also wonderful. The Snickers was amazing, and I can see why the description underneath is "The Famous One". They really recreated the snickers, but better. The bottom layer is a brownie/chocolate cake, and very nutty peanut butter cream sits on top, encased by milk chocolate with bits of peanuts, topped with a thick whipped cream and peanuts. I tried a bite of my friends cheesecake and it was very creamy and delicious. Wonderful cafe run by wonderful people and always serving amazing food.

Tea selections were from Palais Des Thes - nicely spiced Chai, Infusion Du Louvre, black tea and tisane. Jambon and cheeses recommended to go with the tea offerings were fantastic, as were deserts. When we showed interest in the loose tea (which is not s'il there), the proprietor went through an entire box of teabags to give us samples we may like. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in Rennes, France.

Service was very friendly and I loved that there were "vegetarian" milks (almond, oat, soy) with no extra charge. The concept is cute, with fresh fruits that you can also buy, and they use wooden spoons for stirring your drinks. I got a hot cocoa (3,50 euros) and it hardly tasted like chocolate. The drink also wasn't filled to the top, in an already pretty small cup. I loved the concept and the interior, but can't recommend the drinks - hopefully the food is a lot better!

On this years Road Trip through France only two Patisseries will be in our memory forever. And this is one of them. Ingredients are wonderful, great quality. A lot of flavour, a lot of love in these products. The Praliné Tartelette was amazing, never had anything similar. The small tartelettes and the macaroons were top-notch as well. But then there is the big Raspberry Macaroon. That was divine. Never had we a macaroon of this quality. Nicely baked, still has a bite, but also soft. The perfect balance. Wonderful custard. And the raspberries: oh, so sweet. And almost no seeds. Whipped cream was very nice as well, not your average can whipped cream. If you look for perfection, look no further. This is it. This is the place. Staff was really friendly as well, let us take time browsing and choosing. Don't leave town without getting some dessert here. Highly recommended. I miss this place.

Bubble Ramen was probably the closest Asian restaurant to my hotel, so I went for a quick lunch before leaving Rennes. I was probably craving boba/bubble tea the most, so I ordered a Thai tea with boba, but it was quite disappointing. There was barely any taste to it. It was as if it had been extremely diluted. On top of that, the bobas/bubbles weren't chewy at all, rather, they seemed undercooked or was frozen and cooked improperly. As my actual lunch, I opted for udon with tofu (there was no more chicken, which was weird during lunch hours) with a shoyu base. The dish supposedly comes with fish cakes, but I only had ONE thin slice. The tofu was flavorless. The vegetables were quite mushy, and also flavorless. The bean sprouts were undercooked. And the broth/soup, which is usually the highlight of any noodle dish for me, was tasteless as well. The ONLY good thing about the dish was the ramen egg. The meal was severely underwhelming, and I left feeling like I was cheated.
