I chose this restaurant because it was highly reviewed and was advertised as having live music. When I arrived there was a party of about 20 ppl so was worried I wouldn't be seated. There is ample from and I sat at the bar. Overall great experience, though I wish there was the live music. The food was good and the service was fast. Highly recommend this spot. read more

Seemingly a perennial place, this classical Vienna-style coffee house close to the uni's medical faculty (and consequently frequented by its students) follows an impressive heritage. If you are just here for drinks and vibes, at a popular time of the day, this is a very nice style-conscious hangout place. For food, breakfast, cakes ... I find the quality they serve a bit puzzling. It's as if no one here took notice that the world, including the quality of good café fare, has advanced over the past 25 or so years. I think it doesn't need much more than a fresh take on menu and food quality to make this a coffeehouse gem again. Currently it feels past its prime, and undeservedly so. read more

As an American visiting Germany, I needed something more than a croissant for breakfast. We found this place and decided to try it for breakfast. The waitress was super nice and spoke good English which is always a nice bonus. They had an English menu as well. The food took a little bit of time to come out but the eating area outside is a nice little place to hangout. The eggs are cooked so yummy and the rest of the breakfast is good too, I would definitely recommend this as a breakfast spot. We paid about ten euros and got two eggs, two bacons, orange juice, a muffin a piece of toast and a bowl of cereal. read more

A Date took me here. When we arrived and checked the Location from outside our First Impression was that it's maybe not the right Place for us but we gave it a try. Inside was Playing Live Piano Music and dimmed light. Seemed very dapper. Staff was nice and attentive. Great ambiance and delicious eats. We had a goulash soup and a steak salad and both were fab. I would absolutely sit here for ages catching up with friends or reading a book in one of the comfier seating options. Great central location as well (near the train station, and the theresienwiese, especially if you get tired of Oktoberfest revelry). read more

The service by the waitress was excellent!! She even spoke fantastic English. The food took over a half an hour to get and then was terrible!! The entire dish so so over salted the pork was not tender and the potato croquettes tasted like oil. So disappointing . read more

To come straight to the point: This location has an excellent breakfast with a cosy atmosphere, especially in summer. On weekends they have a piano player, food is tasty and organic, all in all it is one of my favourite Brunch and breakfast locations. Service is very friendly. BUT: For breakfast (at least on weekends) they are chronically understaffed! I feel sorry for the service team, because every time I come here they seem horribly stressed (although still nice). So - would still recommend this place, but bring some time and patience, your order might take a while. Dinner is also good and relatively calm. Typical Bavarian menu. read more

Best restaurant ever... Elegant, good service, better breakfasts, I love to go there to brunch with friends or with my partner. Fair price for high quality food. The place is huge and you always find a nice place to sit. It also has a terrace, which in summer makes your brunch time even nicer... A vienna style coffee house in Munich. The interior is genuinely old-fashioned (in a positive sense), so are the coffee variations and the food. It's often very crowded and difficult to get a seat (and if crowded, the service is a little on the slow side). Really nice atmosphere though. Wonderful atmosphere - very local and neighborhood feel a short walk from the hauptbanhof. Delicious food and the owner was wonderfully kind and helpful to us - he speaks good English and helped find a dish that wasn't on today's menu. We'll worth the trip. read more

This place is a restaurant of a rather unremarkable hotel. The cousine is Austrian, with your schnitzels and numerous coffee items. I had gnocchi and found it pretty pricey (about 20 EUR for the meal, glass of water and an espresso), average quality. The ambience resembles with a Bavarian beer joint rather than a cafe or a restaurant. I'd come here to get a "großer brauner" again, but not for food. read more

This cafe is perfect for good conversation and a delicious snack and/or drink as an accompaniment. They have an ample array of both dessert and alcoholic beverages, although I only had a weißbier. One of my friends enjoyed a chocolate dessert beverage, while another had soup that looked delectable. I hope I have another opportunity to come back here when I want to wind down. read more

My friends really like this place, so I feel sort of guilty for just liking it with three stars. I have only been there once, today for a Saturday brunch, and there were plenty of tables, though my friends tell me it's packed on Sundays. The brunch has a nice selection of complete breakfasts running from small to huge (Gerschwin). There are also individual items to add or just make your own brunch. I had the Mikis, which comes with a sheep cheese omelet, a Greek honey yoghurt, and a glass of juice. The yoghurt was nice but could have had a little but more honey on it. The omelet had lots of jalapeno peppers in it, so I could not taste the cheese. Maybe that was in the menu and I missed it. The cappuccino was all right, and there was a very cool banana jam to put on the bread. Prices were fair and service was fine. So I was a happy camper, just not four stars happy on this visit. Maybe next time? I expect to come here again. read more

Had a great breakfast here thanks to the suggestion of yelp! We were stayig at the tryp hotel just a few blocks away, so this was a nice surprise. Menu was in German, but many items recognizable and we asked a few questions. I had a great breakfast of muesli, fruit and yogurt + soft boiled egg, grapefruit, cheese and bread all for 8.40 Euro. My husband had the omelette , Greek yogurt and tomato juice. Funky old building and not touristy, which was nice. read more

On March, 9th, I celebrated my Birthday at the Café with some friends. I would have liked to enjoy a nice and relaxing atmosphere, but it turned out to be a very bad experience! The quality and prices of the food were OK, but the service was totally unfriendly! Essentially, they were persisting in asking for extra money in all the possible ways! The first time was related to the dishes they provided for the cake (I brought), with prices that changed from 1€/person (when I booked the table, 2 days before) to 2€ per person (the night of the celebration)! However, we didn't use their dishes and, after a long discussion with the waitresses, we were allowed to not pay for that. At that point, though, they started asking to be paid just because I had tasted a bit of the wine I got as a present...and, again, 1€/person! At the end, despite I was really angry and my celebration ruined, I decided to pay this extra money. What I found most annoying, however, was that they kept insisting for getting money from my guests and in a totally wrong moment (blowing of the candles). I definitively do not recommend this Café if you wish to experience a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. read more

Great ambiance , good section of drinks , interesting food a nice mix between traditional German favourites and some innovative fusions with other cuisine . Music of varying types each night ( at least every night we been there , we live around the corner). Great breakfast choices particularly Sunday when there is live music . I go back all the time . Sometimes it's gets very busy and then the service is a little slow but they are always polite . Back the ambiance the ceiling is great to look at . read more
