Imagine a French café with zero conversation, no laughter, no sociability. Granted, the coffee is ok, but there are many more cafés in Toulouse with coffee just as good, and better ambiance. So if your idea of an amusing café is to remain isolated in the lonely silence of your own little electronic world, welcome! But me, I'll never go there again.

The place is actually decently large, with many tables and chairs so you're not fighting for space, and the ambiance is very cozy and homey. I love being surrounded by 2 long walls of books, and the decor is also lovely with different chairs, tables, etc. so that it's not all homogenous. They have WiFi, and other people are on their laptops working here, so it's a great place to come and get some work done. There are a lot of people just chatting here too, so it's not super quiet in here if you need a lot of silence to get work done (or just bring a pair of headphones). They serve salads and tartines here (but I have yet to try the savory food) and they are reasonably priced. I tried the leopard gateau and it was delicious - I had a similar pastry in Paris at Cyril Lignac and loved it -- I was looking for it all over in Toulouse and I've finally found it. If you love almond and chocolate, it's the perfect dessert/snack, and not too expensive at 2€. They have a wide selection of teas as well, and 4-5 choices of little cakes/sweets. I spent a week in Toulouse, and this was one my favorite places that I ate at. They only open…read moreMondays to Fridays, until about 6 pm, so it's great for lunch, or a coffee and a snack. They have a pretty small menu that changes every week depending on what they have in season, which is great because there's variety and the things are fresh. They seem to have 2 pastas, a salad, 2 sandwich choices, and a few desserts that they bake in house. You can get just a sandwich, a salad, or a plate of pasta. Or you can get a sandwich + dessert, salad + dessert, or if you want coffee or tea, they have that too. The sandwiches are pre-made so they are the fastest to grab and go. The salads take a little more time to prepare so you may have to wait 10-15 min. The salad I got had soba noodles, basil, carrots, and some lettuce with a soy-ginger vinaigrette. It was delicious and refreshing; slightly on the smaller side but that meant more room for dessert. The desserts made in house are also delicious. I had an almond apricot cake; they also had cookies, and ice cream / sorbet. The place is really cute but small, so if you have more than 4 people you may want to go elsewhere. They have only a few tables and 2 armchairs. There is no air conditioning but they have free WiFi, so I was able to do a little work on my laptop there.
