The lady at the reception was understanding and great but she couldn't do much about it. The manager said they would refund us so we left. I woke up this morning to a message from Booking.com about my refund being denied. I had read comments about the owner's being scammers, and I can't disagree with that now. This was an experience from Hell. Avoid this place at all costs.

Kind of like a fancier thumbprint cookie. Wish I bought more to take home!! Also bought a package of Prussiens which are also very tasty! You may also know these as palmiers, a nice French flaky puff pastry that is great with a cup of coffee or tea. Doesn't travel well though as they are very delicate and crumble very easily but most made it home in one piece.
