Their selection of wrapped chocolate bars includes white, milk and dark chocolate in flavors not found in your average chocolate shop. Cologne was our last stop in Germany before heading back to the US. So glad we found this place!

They graciously spoke English, made delicious recommendations, and chatted us up as we sat and drank our lattes. So many choices, I wish I lived closer so I could spend the rest of the year trying each flavor and enjoying the owners wit and kindness. Highly recommend. As tasty as it is for Düsseldorf it falls short of great hot chocolates found in Paris such as Angelina which arguably is the best hot chocolate I tried in my life. That said I never had a frappe of this quality in Europe. with grade a chocolate. It was certainly a refresher on a hot day without air conditioning in Germany. I bought fruit chocolates such as mango raspberry and blueberry from the shop attached to this. I had one sampling and was floored by how great the mango chocolates were. Each chocolate was a euro a piece so it wasn't too expensive for the grade. I'm looking forward to having a few of these when I return. If anything at all this place is located in the heart of altstadt so it's definitely worth a trip - at least to look at the cute design.

This is a great shop/small museum located in the middle of the historical city center and also offers a glimpse into the history of senf (mustard) making. They have a wide selection of mustards and offer complementary samples. The only downside is that, after purchasing several jars, we walked to the near Christmas market and found the exact same products we had just bought at a much lower price.

Düsseldorfer Senfladen - Löwensenf was on our list of places to visit while exploring the area…read more It's a specialty shop that sells one thing: mustard. We dropped in on a Monday (around noon). The inside has a small tasting in the back where you can try all their flavours. There's even an option to bring your own jar and they will fill it for €0,70/100g. Most of their mustard jars ranged in the €1,70 to €1,95 price range. A lot of interesting flavours to choose from. There was also a few bottled sauce options (BBQ, cold brew coffee BBQ, hot chili sriracha, honey and sour cream) for €2,49. - Radschläger senf (€1,70) - this was my favourite. Apparently, it's one of two traditional Düsseldorf mustard brands (the other brand which they also have is ABB). - Löwensenf knoblauch (€1,95) - garlic flavoured mustard. This was our favourite from the Löwensenf lineup. If you like mustard, definitely worth a visit. Reasonably priced too.
