It is kind of hidden and you could miss it if you are not paying attention but I found Cafe Cafico and it not disappoint! The owner Fico short for Federico is also the barista and roast the different beans from the state of Chiapas. He also made me an espresso with milk that was absolutely wonderful! Prices are reasonable and he only takes cash. I bought the house blend and I'm anxious to try it tomorrow for breakfast. Best place in town to have a great cup of coffee. Don't expect to find a fancy coffee shop, this is a coffee roaster and you can order an espresso, a cafe arabe or a cortado. There is one smal table with four chairs. You finish your coffee and go.

Great espresso and other classical coffee drinks (no froufrouchinos here). Excellent baked goods -- pastries, muffins, cookies. Fresh fruit and avocado toasts. Paninis and Italian-style sandwiches served in a pleasant, light-washed space with really good wifi and a very friendly staff. Italy or Merida? Hard to tell, but a great find in either location. And especially welcome here where there are a lot fewer options for great coffee than in Rome or Naples.
