    Salmon salad

Found this very hipster cafe through Yelp and Google reviews, and decided to give it a try! The prices are quite expensive compared to Toronto, but the portions are large, and comparatively speaking, the prices are quite standard in the smaller town of Riviere du Loup. I ordered the salmon salad, my sister got the poutine, Mom ordered the ham wrap, and Dad got the burger. Dad seemed to enjoy his burger for the most part, and cleared most of his fries. My Mom adored the smoked ham wrap - she loved the gooey melted cheese and was delighted to find that the ham was actually some high quality smoked ham - not like the deli types, but the Schwartz type. Though she appreciated the cheese curds on her poutine, my sister didn't like the fact that the seasoned fries (with oregano and whatnot) were used as the poutine base. I also would have preferred if plain fried were used instead; the herb mixture with the gravy and cheese curds were just slightly odd. My salad was definitely overpriced. It had about the same amount of grilled vegetables as all the other lunch options, and there was just a tiny piece of salmon placed on top of some lettuce base. The dressing was slightly oily, but decent! Overall, wonderful portion sizes, but nothing too different that you can't find anywhere else. I will say, however, that the cafe is quite quaint inside with some wonderful decor!

We passed by riviere du loup on a Monday on our way to Gaspesie. For some reason most restaurants are closed on Monday! We were happy to find this open. It was nice had kids meal options and we got some pasta for us. Nothing fancy nice service and good food . I also ordered a latte to go which was very good....

Surprisingly fantastic! A warm and casual ambience coupled with friendly, speedy service and stellar cuisine - what else could you ask for? Our party of mine was seated and served most graciously by the staff. The menu offers an eclectic and tempting variety of fusion and traditional cuisine with options for everyone including vegan choices. The stir fried coconut rice, buckwheat crepes, and falafel dishes were all fresh, wonderfully seasoned, and tasty. Trois-Rivieres is fortunate to have such a lovely restaurant.

Great hipster place in RDL. I was introduced to this place from a work colleague. You get the feel as if you are on Polk street in San Francisco or the Haight - Ashbury neighbourhood. It's a century old building where they have creatively and uniquely decorated to make a charming and eclectic restaurant. I ended up ordering the fried rice with tofu, honey curried vegetable nuts and feta dish. Really you'd think this is not a combo that works however it is a wonderful medley. The rice is a bit crunchy and the curry plus sweet honey with saltiness of the feta is decadent. One of the better vegetarian dishes I've had in quite some time! Service was attentive and pleasant. Definitely a good experience and worth it to come back when in RDL.

Absolutely marvelous. Simply amazing. Incredible. Set your GPS, find a parking space, navigate the hill and the steps and enter a world where you choose from three shredded meats...ham, lamb or pork, and several treatments...crepes, fried rice, potatoes, noodles, or salades. Worth the trip.

There also wasn't a whole lot of mushroom, but the brie cheese was oozing so that was good. - Crepe with Shrimp: The crepe itself was super crispy and a bit tough to cut, which was disappointing. The shrimp filling was tasty. - Chocllste Crepe: Soooo much chocolate, which I loved. Unfortunately, they added a cheese sauce into the crepe which didn't really go with the chocolate and made it taste weird. - Choco Maya: Thick and tasty hot chocolate. Yum! Good location, friendly service albeit a bit slow. Not as deal breaker though. The main disappointment was really with the crepes - was hoping for more and didn't quite get it.

Attention!! Restaurant only open Saturday and Sunday from July to end of October from 9am to 3pm…read more The boutique is always open though. I've spent roughly a month and a half on the farm working as a volunteer. The farm is beautiful and the restaurant is super cute. However, I think it's really important to note the quality of the food. (Almost) everything they use in the restaurant comes from the garden. The caramel, the ice creams, the rhubarb lemondage, etc are all made from scratch. Crazy! I helped plant and deweed the garden, so I can personally attest to the fact that no pesticides whatsoever were used and they use a completely sustainable method of agriculture. The staff consists of the family and a couple of friends. Everyone is very kind and passionate about what they do here. The meals are pretty cheap for the amount and the quality of food you get (see picture with menu). The table d'hôte (20$) consists of - A soup (usually different every week depending on what's in the garden, but all delicious) - A salad that comes with a homemade vinaigrette - A "galette" with is a super thin buckwheat crepe with fillings (ham, cheese and spinach | apple, pâté végé, leeks | other options available, but I forgot!) - A dessert: half a homemade waffle or a crepe (I STRONGLY recommend trying crepe with sugar and butter with some lemon. Its to die for!) They have a small boutique where they sell their jams, jellies, confits, cakes, frozen waffles, etc. As well as a couple of products from neighboring farms. After (or before) the meal, you can walk around the farm, see the animals, see the garden and the greenhouse and take some time to unleash your inner child and jump on the trampoline. All in all, it's just wonderful!
