After a long day of hiking on the mountain and taking a detour to Lourdes, we were all very hungry - my husband, me, and three friends from out of town (one of whom was a 5 year old). Although it was 2:30, they were able to seat us for lunch. Hooray.
Our server was extremely polite and attentive. He understood that I had several allergies and walked me through the menu. It was a simple, straightforward menu with your typical SW French fare: duck gizzard salad, duck breast, steak tartare, etc.
I had the steak tartare. The meat was fresh and had all of the accompaniments. Totally yummy. For those who could eat them (not me), the frites were amazing.
The atmosphere is lively and local. This is not a tourist joint even though Lourdes is *very* touristy. There were plenty of locals grabbing a beer and watching the football game on TV.
Overall, a good, solid place for a meal and a beer. read more
