The staff here are very attentive and hark back to the Oddbins I used to shop at in the early 90's. These guys are seriously into their wine and love to talk about it. There is always a bustle about the place as they run a large wholesale operation so people whizz about with trolleys loaded with boxes, but will always find time to help you with your wine buys if they can. If you want good wine and decent advice this is the plce to go in leeds. The selection is really excellent and the advice to go with it is always available with special offers always on.

Wines, spirits and soft drinks are similarly in great supply, meaning that Simply Drinks delivers everything it promises. The prices are standard for an independent off-licence, but there should perhaps be more multi-buy deals on offer. I'm not very informed about wines so when wanting to purchase a good wine I have not got a clue, I have asked in supermarkets in the past but realise the majority of the time their staff are as clueless as me , whereas when I go to Alwoodley Wines I get a good honest description whatever the price range I ask for. It's not been open that long, and it's not in the most favourable location for an off license/corner shop, but it still does a good business because of the friendly, unpretentious service and nature of the products. If you're driving past and in need of a snack or a stock of booze/smokes, it's definitely worth calling in...just make sure you don't take more than two kids in with you at any one time.!

ChezVin undoubtedly fits in to that category of specialist and interesting. They stock a range of hundreds of wines from over ten different countries, ensuring that they have enough to suit any taste and any budget. The owner of the store has a wealth of knowledge on the subject of wine, and so will almost certainly send you away with something that you'll be delighted with, and can find you the perfect wine for any occasion. Not content with providing the people of Otley and Leeds the perfect bottle of vino, ChezVin also stocks a myriad of different whiskies (to suit even the more discerning whisky fanatic) and a range of liqueurs and spirits that you might have trouble finding in your standard Bargain Booze. If there were only more ChezVins in the country than Bargain Boozes I imagine that our binge drinking culture might cease and people's attitude towards alcohol might become more refined.
