We had the volcano shrimp for an appetizer (very good) and split a catfish basket and seafood fried rice. We also ordered a side of garlic butter (very good). I ordered the Wednesday special and requested extra sauce after reading reviews that mentioned the seasoning could sometimes be light. In hindsight, the extra sauce wasn't necessary. I ordered online and entered my credit card information, only to find out that payment is required in person. Made an online order that my husband picked up for me, so I can't speak to their ambiance or hospitality. However, I can say the seafood is fresh, decent sized & well priced. What I love is that they offer a seafood boil special for every day of the week and it comes with corn, potatoes and sausage. The perfect portion size for $34 not including tax. The only thing I was not a fan of is their garlic butter seasoning. I assume they sauté the 30 cloves of minced garlic that you get in order to release the essence/flavor, because some bites tasted a bit burnt and bitter so I had to add some seasoning to mask the aftertaste. This was my initial, but certainly not my final, DoorDash order from this establishment. I placed an order for the catfish basket, which includes four fillets and a choice of one side. I selected French fries, which also came with two hushpuppies. Upon arrival, my food was exceptionally hot, and the Dasher arrived seven minutes ahead of the estimated delivery time. The fish was well-seasoned and flaky, while the fries were crispy. I have no complaints about the quality of the food. The packaging was also noteworthy. The food arrived in an attractive red and black shopping bag, and the container holding the food resembled a takeout container for Japanese cuisine. I have been to Cajun bay many times and everytime it's the same amazing service. Waiters are nice and quick, food it always hot and fully cooked. Near to my house; went kinda nuts ordering to-go maybe 4 times in the past 2 months because hey! Forney does NOT have many seafood options. Tried the steamed oysters for the first time with the "house" blend (the same one I always get with my choose-your-own boil in a bag) lotttsss of gahlic, mild kick of spice, great "cajun" flavor. Sadly the door dash menu needs to be FIXED because it forces you to choose the 12 piece (dozen oysters) option but theres an error in pricing. It charged you DOUBLE the price- so if I want half-dozen it should be $12 or so I forget exactly, but the radial button you would choose to select forces you to choose 12 and it shows as the price of what 24 oysters would actually be. The only way around this is a phone call pick up order. So I have been meaning to call them and inform them but I AM HOPING they simply read this and fix it. Anyhoo; love the sweet potato waffle fries; when I order my boil its usually 1lb shrimp (head on! IYKYK) with .5 lb clams, or black mussles (for some reason green mussels are more dry). Comes with come red potatoes and a half cob of corn. Sometimes I add an egg, sometimes extra corn. Always so good! Potato We also got the scallop ramen, Crab fried rice and shrimp fried rice and the calamari and broccoli. Even though they did mess up on our order, our server was very kind to make things right like when they mixed up the sausage in the meat and they gave us extra as my brother's family does not eat red meat. Food overall was good and enjoyed the sauce as they do load it up quite a bit. They appeared pretty quickly and were hot and appetizing. The Gumbo was fantastic. The roux was dark and there was plenty of meat in the bowl. The bowl was enough for a meal. The Fried Mushrooms were also extreme tasty. My wife got the Shrimp PoBoy and she enjoyed it. There was lots of shrimp and the bread was fresh and toasty. I got the Shrimp Basket with Cajun Gries. I was craving for something similar to a restaurant back in California called Boiling Crab. Pretty much the same concept as this place. I was hesitant to try it, but since that's pretty much all we have here- we ordered shrimp with head on drenched in their special sauce. It was alright. 1 lb of shrimp was about 10 pieces (good in size) 1 corn and 2 random red potatoes thrown in the bag. The flavor was alright. It had some type of milky taste to it along with the garlic and Cajun. I don't know how I feel about the milky taste to it. The service was ok since I ordered over the phone for a togo order. Also ordered a boil bag with the house seasoning and it was great! Would have been a full 5 but my added lobster was missing from the original steam bag and had to be served seperate. Also love the shrimp fried rice, the fried shrimp, Cajun fries, snow crab in lemon pepper with the potatoes and corn. I didn't appreciate the auto gratuity with a party of 7, especially when the service on this second visit was lacking. I'll be back. The owners of the famous Tokyo Harbor restaurant have now opened Cajun Bay Seafood & Bar! Also located in the same Mustang Crossing shopping center, in Forney, Texas. A big bright & colorful open interior, with mostly comfortable booth seating. Nautical & seafood decor hanging down from the ceiling, and across the walls set the mood nicely. Good job on the visual appeal. A mixture of easy listening music plays overhead, all types. The sportsbar is along the far wall. With bright, clean look, mirrored wall display of premium liquor bottles. The bigscreens were muted, even though NBA Dallas Mavericks were in a playoff game, and winning. Only 14 bar chairs, but they are very comfortable. I hope Cajun Bay will add more bigscreens, and booth seating where the tiny tables are now. Staff is pleasant & helpful, and very busy. I chatted with the bartender about the menu here, she helped me build a seafood pasta dish. From the pasta options, I chose fettucine over spaghetti. I chose shrimp from the seafood list. From the list of sauces, I chose Garlic-butter. Now, I had to set the Spice Level... I chose Level 2. This was a very good dish, but I wish it had more than just shrimp & fettucine noodles. The garlic-butter had minced pieces of garlic. "Spice" was the crayfish boil mix. It was decent, but just decent. Add some zucchini slices, some slices of garlic bulb in the butter sauce... Let The Good Times Roll. The Mavericks won! But, the crowd here hardly noticed. No cheering? Well, it was Mother's Day, about 85% capacity by 5PM. A lot of drinks were flying from the bar out to those tables, I know Mom wasn't driving back home. A day off is a good thing! Cajun Bay Seafood is going to do great in Forney! As someone who drives 40 minutes to the nearest Cajun spot, I am ecstatic to have found this place. I originally found out about this spot via door dash. The reviews are a lot better on door dash but even so they did a great job on my door dash order so we decided to give them a try. My kids got gumbo, husband a po boy and I got the shrimp and cat basket. It was soooooooooo good. Everyone is satisfied. I also had a frozen pina colada.
