Cajun Daiquiri & Cafe on Barataria is awesome. I got the boiled seafood platter, it was delicious and plentiful, the grilled oysters were better than Acme, Drago's and the Boiling Pot. They were grilled to perfection and were NOT overpowered by spices or cheese they were wonderful. The seafood gumbo is the best I've ever had in any restaurant. Candace and Erica immediately greeted everyone who walked through the door and orders were promptly taken. Kudos to Candice who makes the best Daiquiris that I've ever tasted. Erica is very attentive and speedy handling several tables at once and Darren, he did a phenomenal job on the oysters. I highly recommend this place. read more

Haven't had the daiquiris, just the food, which is mediocre. Everything was hot, but it was just OK. I got the fish and shrimp platter with house salad and Mac n cheese. The fish comes as small strips and I prefer larger pieces with less breading, they don't devein their shrimp and that's unfortunate, the Mac was good, but the salad couldn't really be called a salad. Probably wouldn't eat their again. So, I gave them another shot and got the gyro sandwich with fries and the bread pudding dessert. The sandwich was OK, again mediocre. The bread pudding was absolutely awful! It wasn't even edible even after I tried to doctor it up, just threw it away. Staff is friendly, but definitely the last time! read more

My boyfriend's family was in town from Minnesota and we had a rather large party and the knew server had no problem keeping up with us and about there other tables! I was impressed. Not to mention the server was pregnant. I have a lot of respect for the girl for being able to handle all of that while going through the pains of pregnancy. The service is excellent and the food was fast. I ordered the seafood combo which comes with fried shrimp and fish with a side of beans and potato salad. The husband ordered the shrimp platter with coleslaw and baked Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. The portions were Texas size. Waitress yeld out across the dinning room at customers. The appetizers came out burnt on the outside and stone cold in the inside. That was enough to keep my date from ordering anything btelse. I forged ahead and ordered the"KINGS SEAFOOD PLATTER" which consisted of 4shrimp, yes 4 shrimp which were rubbery and tasted of something old and the grease they were fried in tasted old and burnt! The same could be said of the 4four oysters that were also rubbery and tasted burnt. Then there were the "FRIED CATFISH FINGERS" which were so old they were reminiscent of can tuna that had been battery and deep fried! Yuck yuck and yuck. Gave one bc the tea was half decent. My friends and I had worked up an appetite checking out the Barrataria Preserve trail and found this place on our way back in town. At first, we were concerned because we came in just as they were about to close and the cook had left before we could order. BUT the waitress was INCREDIBLY nice and went out of her way to try to make us feel welcomed and found a way to get the cook to come back. She was super friendly and helped us with our menu and drink choices. She explained the laws so we didn't accidentally get in trouble and gave us a discount. As a waitress myself, I was even impressed by her customer service! She deserves a raise, I just wish I got her name to be sure she gets it. Our food was AMAZING and the portions were fantastic- we were "fat n happy" by the end of it all and the waitress definitely won herself a fat tip. :) read more

Well where do I start ? We called a order in for delivery. The guy was there waiting never had food ready . We waited over a hour. The only way I can imagine the good ratings some others have given this place is that they must've had a few of the daiquiris before getting the food. How can you _uck up beans and rice or a salad for that matter. 3 of us went and 2ordered beans. Only one order of beans came out. Ok, I can understand a mistake but the waitress didn't even say anything about it until after waiting a while, we asked what happened. Then it was only "it's coming." no other explanation until it arrived and come on, how long does it take to scoop out a plate of beans and rice( mostly rice)? To top it off, all was served on styrofoam plates. I should have left when first thing after arrival I asked for coffee and was told, "we don't serve that here." Go there to drink maybe but don't waste you money on the food - unless of course, you have a few daiquiris first so that you won't care about the food. read more

This establishment is now boiling & serving crawfish. We decided to order & check them out since it's so close to our home. 2weeks ago got 8 pounds between my husband & I . Out of corn but we got potatoes & sausage. Received 4 potatoes, Couple potatoes undercooked & 2 links sausage came with our order. Crawfish ok some dead & of course can't eat those. Today decided to try them again. This time ordered same thing but this time corn was available. Get home NO corn or potatoes in bag & 1 link sausage WAS. Even ask before leaving if the extras were in bag answer YES. Made a phone call, young lady was told about situation & claimed that only one link sausage is all that's supposed to come with order & she ask if we were close. Of course YES!! Go back to pick up corn & potatoes & ask if another link of sausage was put in for the trouble of having to come back, her answer was a simple NO. Got back home corn was HORRIBLE!!!!! Not one drop of seasoning! Not EVEN SALT. Crawfish was not the BEST! Lot of Dead ones, very small & a couple that was literally rotten. So NO MORE CRAWFISH FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT EVVVEEERRRR!!!!! Worst experience ever. Me my wife and my 15 month old son when eat there and after we finished eating my wife and son left and I stayed behind to play the poker machines. Little did the waitress know but I could over hear her talking to another employee about my family about how my 15 month old made a mess. I can tell you the service is horrible and don't be suprised if they talk about you to after you leave.
