It's very "Louisiana" in here and very much so giving "Cheers" vibes. The hubs and I loved our first visit, and one of first few dinners in Lake Charles spent trying out this local gem. Upon looking at the mixed reviews, I admittedly had mixed feelings. But, the movers recommended that we stop by so that's exactly what we did. We cozied up to the bar, met a few regulars, and had an amazing night of laughs and great food at Cajun's Wharf. The plan was to check it out and go unnoticed, but that was not the case. It appears that you can't go inside and not make friends here. Hence, the earlier Cheers reference. TK is a stone-faced sweetheart (but, shhh... I don't think she wants anyone to know), took excellent care of us, and gave perfect recommendations. Sidebar: We were so close to trying "backstrap" as noted and seconded by everyone in earshot, but they were out. Next time, for sure. (Because... when in Rome, you clearly eat backstrap! lol) But, back to what we did try. The duck tenders, the eggs rolls (boudin version), the fried catfish and shrimp were all delish, seasoned well of course, and came out quickly. Stumbled upon this little gem, the fried fish is amazing!!! This place is great!! Red headed Taylor the bartender was incredible!!

Drinks are at a great price. Ambiance is definitely a bar vibe. Service was awesome. Didn't get any Cajun vibe. I would definitely come back for the drink's and bar food after I get drunk. Lol read more

Very disappointed! The pictures are deceiving, everything looked good but I'm here to do a favor to those checking on reviews. Don't go! The pizza is worst than frozen pizza and nothing is fresh. Trust me looks can be deceiving. They could have took the cardboard box and put off brand tomato paste with cheese on it. read more

Great drink prices, great pizza, and burgers. New menu items that I have not tried yet, but I've heard are very good.

Walked in with a tasteful pair of jeans and a sleeveless shirt. Immediately encountered a man dancing around distracting customers. I patiently watched until he was no longer obstructing my path to the bar to order some sustenance (I had worked up an appetite at the gym). Before I could proceed, the doorman approached me and said that sleeveless tops were not acceptable attire. I looked incredulously at him and said that someone could gyrate around suggestively and aproaching patrons that had not solicited his focus or attention was permitted to behave without question, but because I was wearing attire not according to policy, I was ostricized, even though I have been to visit there reguuarly. read more

I found this place out when I turned 21. I was one of the few people that would go in, but I loved it. The setting is nice and they started to play live music. I can't give it 5 starts based on that the last time I was back in town, this place was too full to even breathe. Everyone seemed to be having fun though. Now that it's a hot spot, I don't know if I'll ever go back, but it's still a good place if you aren't concerned about a packed out house. read more

I wasn't expecting much from this hole in the wall, but the food easily ranks among Lake Charles' best. The menu isn't very large or varied, but pretty much anything here tastes good, and they have a nice selection of appetizers. The fries are like checkers fries and the Cajun chip things also taste like checkers seasoning, but are really good, especially when accompanied with their ranch dipping sauce. The service is fair at best, since the servers are basically the bar tenders as well, but hit this place up any time during the day and you won't be disappointed. read more

I have never had a bad time here. Yes it is small and the smoke can get horrible, but the atmosphere is unbeatable if you love to people watch like I do. There is no telling what you will see. People from all walks of life come in here and abandon their dignity! I have seen drunk guy's in their 50's in business attire trying their hardest to appeal to the young ladies on the dance floor, drunk guys making poor "mate selection" choices, drunk guy dance-offs, and even the occasional flash! The best part, I have NEVER seen a fight! Everyone just seems to be in a great mood! read more
