The prices are reasonable; cheaper than getting a packaged sandwich but more expensive than a rubbish pasty from a certain bakery chain which will remain nameless. The Pasty Place also offers a range of sweet pasties as well as cookies, crisps and drinks which are priced at the usual small shop rates. There is rarely a queue, but this is because the service is so quick, rather than a lack of customers

It does a wide selection of hot and cold food, although the best item (a pizza slice) keeps going up in price every time I visit. They also do a nice Rum Truffle, although if you get one after they have been out all week they do tend to taste a little stale. Actually the more I write the more I realise that Chatwins isn't very good after all. The bread is far more expensive than other bakers in the area, its nearly impossible to queue because the shop is so narrow and the mince pies cost nearly twice that of the ones sold by Sayers a minute's walk away.
