Stopped by Cake de Partie for the fusion Thai pasta. Orders are taken and paid at the front before you're given a number to take to your seat. Ordered the Tom Yum shrimp, Spicy Basil crab, and Green Curry chicken pasta. The most unique of the three was the tom yum shrimp pasta as it ended on a tangy sweet note. I thought the green curry chicken was very reminiscent of Alfredo due to its creamy texture. All three of the dishes were not spicy at all. Overall, I enjoyed the fushion Thai dishes and would come back to try the dessert.
AMAZING. These soufflé pancakes are so delicate and satisfying. We came here the first time for date night and it didn't disappoint. I got the creme brûlée pancake and my husband got the blueberry cobbler style inspired one. We both loved ours, and I really wanna come back and try the Thai tea made in house toast! Everything looks to die for. They do warn it takes 30 to 45 minutes to hand make the pancakes to order which i totally understand so be prepared for a longer wait :) the place was very clean and service was great. Thank you guys!
Located on Convoy St, Cake De Partie is undoubtedly one of the best Asian Fusion and Dessert places in San Diego. This was the last place we visited during our latest trip to San Diego. We came to this place to have brunch on our way back to home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is trendy and always very busy with people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Luckily, we were the first customers of the day and the place just opened the time we got in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside of this place was clean and the decor was very festive and inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered Chicken Wing Zapp, Tom Kha Chicken Pasta, Caramel Macchiato, Salt Caramel Banana Pancake Soufflé, and Hibiscus Pomegranate Soda. Their Soufflé Pancakes usually take 30-45 minutes to prepare, so it's better to order when you arrive. However, as I mentioned earlier that, we were the first customers, so they were able to serve Soufflé Pancake within 20 minutes. Their food and drinks were literally so good! The Salt Caramel Banana Pancake Soufflé and the Tom Kha Chicken Pasta were the best breakfast items among all the dishes. The prices were a bit high, but still reasonable considering the quality of their food. People who work here are friendly, humble, and cooperative. We enjoyed our brunch very much and we'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu in the future!
I've been here a few times, usually for their awesome crepe cakes, but this time su tried their pasta! I got the green curry pasta and it was soooo good! I was expecting noodles even though the menu clearly states pasta, so I was confused at first, but still very yummy! The portion is a good size, so I ate half for lunch and the other half for dinner. I also ordered a strawberry matcha that was pretty good!! The crepe cakes are my favorite, though. Make sure you try the Thai tea flavored one-and add the sauce!!!
This was my second time visiting. I had tried to come a few times before, but the shop was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. This time I ordered the crepe, toast, and popcorn chicken. I really enjoyed all three. The pastries were not too sweet, which made them perfect. The popcorn chicken was crispy and very juicy. The staff were very sweet, friendly, and attentive to customers. It's easy to overlook this restaurant when driving on convoy, as it blends in with other businesses. In other words, this is a diamond in the rough for delectable fare. Zapp chicken wings: seasoning that you can see on the crispy batter that goes well with the tender and juicy chicken. The food is cooked to order; therefore, these wings will be piping hot in temperature but also has a spicy bite, 5/5 stars! Tom yum noodles: a well-executed dish! The layers of flavor that cover every micrometer of tender but chewy noodles. The pasta sauce is unique as it is a broth that is savory with a hint of spice, sweetness, and tang. The grape tomatoes, mushrooms, and red onions were tender and slightly caramelized. The chicken was also tender and this is a 5/5 stars dish! Crepe cake: this was a refreshing dessert, as portions of the layers were both flaky and soft. The cake itself was mildly flavored, but went well with the fresh strawberries and sweet strawberry sauce, 4/5 stars. Tiramisu soufflé pancake: this fluffy and airy pancake is light in flavor and the cocoa powder adds bitterness, but is balanced with the sweet chocolate sauce that is intended for drizzling over the cake. The vanilla ice cream and sliced strawberries on the side adds more depth, 4/5 stars. I've been enjoying the food here for over a decade which is a testament to their consistency to excellence and my reluctance to share this restaurant on-line until now :)

They have a small patio area in the back great for dogs![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came here to try their zap chicken wings recommended by one of the workers from The Friendly. Cake de Partie serves some awesome looking desserts! They also serve pasta dishes with asian themes and other flavors. The chicken wings came in 6 pieces for about 10$. It has a very lemon pepper flavor. This wasnt screaming "great" chicken but it was battered and fried perfectly. I enjoyed the chicken. Next time, I will for sure try the pasta!
We ordered: * Spaghetti Tom Yum with shrimp * Miso Carbonara * Satay Chicken Salad * Fried tofu * Pandan brick toast Everything was good. We wish there were more vegetarian options. We asked if we can have the fried tofu instead of the chicken for the salad but that was not an option so we had to order that separately. If you want a soufflé pancakes, order that right away because it will take 20+ minutes to make. I previously had it and it's really good. This time, we got the pandan brick toast. It came with ice cream on top. I thought the pandan was a little bit too sweet but overall, it's not bad. Parking isn't the best around there. If you can find a parking in the back then expect to pay. There's only 20 minutes complimentary parking for the complex. On the weekends, they are open til 10 pm.
New Mango Japanese Souffle Pancake: This is a must-try! It is terribly good. The texture is cloud-like, incredibly light, and fluffy. The new mango flavor provides the perfect balance of refreshing, vibrant sweetness.Chicken Fried Chicken with Rice: On the savory side, this dish is flawlessly executed. The chicken is perfectly cooked--unbelievably crunchy on the outside, while remaining incredibly moist and tender on the inside. Paled with rice, it makes for the ultimate comfort meal.
A hidden gem in San Diego/ convoy area!! Really wanted to gatekeep this place, but I honestly love this place soooo much and the food and service deserves all the recognition. If you've been craving or wanting to try deliciously fluffy Japanese soufflé pancakes, definitely go here! Also order the zapp popcorn chicken and carbonara udon too! Sooo flavorful! Prices are very good for the portion sizes and they have other tasty desserts and drinks you can try. I've always tried something new and loved it! Went here with a group of friends as it has been on the list for some time to try. Parking can definitely a challenge, so be prepared for that, it's much easier if you come early in the day. The souffle is definitely more of a sweet, dessert type of breakfast, so great of you have a sweet tooth. They take about 20 to 30 minutes depending how many people ordered, so it pays to get your order in early. They have several different flavors, so there are a variety to choose from. We tried the blueberry cheesecake one, which was very good, and i think my favorite of the 2. The other was a banana fosters type one, which was also good even though I'm not a huge banana person. They are big portions so I'd recommend maybe sharing. The seating is a bit weird, if you have a larger party they have these circular tables with a fabric type curved bench for seating. It was a bit awkward getting in and out of the seat.

Love love love the ube pancake not too sweet and their popcorn chicken is always so crispy. Come early since it takes 40 mins to make pancake. Only downside is 20 min comp parking which is so inconvenient but it seems they don't have control over it (landlord problem maybe?) read more
One of the few places in san diego that does a food soufle pancake. They also serve crepe cake but I think their souffle pancakes hit the best. At first I thought the place was a dessert place but their pastas are also super flavorful and creative. Both pastas I got were extremely good! The souffle was equally as good and very jiggly. It does take a bit like 20/30mins but the food and dessert come out great. Service wise pretty chill, they mostly leave ya a long but happy to help. Had dinner and dessert here. The drunken noodles were good. A bit spicier than I thought it would be. The description made no mention of spice. Good flavor though. If you want a pancake soufflé order it as the same time as your food. It takes 40 mins to make the soufflé. They can only do one batch at a time. If that batch is full, it'll take up to an hour. The tables and chairs can use an update. Our table was cracked down the middle. read more

The food was absolutely delicious, with rich and bold flavors. Everything was well-seasoned and packed with flavor, especially the Tom Yum Spaghetti, which was outstanding. read more

People on Yelp have been raving about its pancake souffles, so we decided to stop by the restaurant and try them while visiting San Diego. The restaurant is located in a small building with very limited spaces (20 min free then $3 per hour. Some people suggested to park on J&J Plaza behind the building on the weekends). Inside it has a gen Z vibe décor with painted art wall, and a mixture of regular table and round sofa seating arrangements, large enough to accommodate 50+ people. A warning and FYI: The average waiting time for the pancake is 50 minutes. So, make sure you are not in a hurry when coming in for the pancakes. We ordered the following dishes: Miso Salmon Pasta (No Cheese): The pasta was cooked to perfection and slightly al dente. The bits of salmon were very tender. The sauce was light, with only a hint of miso, and quite savory. Tom Yum Shrimp Pasta: The noodles also had a very nice firmness. The sauce was exquisitely flavorful: savory, spicy, not too sour and slightly sweet. The shrimps were fresh and had good texture. Carbonara Pasta: The sauce was not as heavy as traditional carbonara and it was quite delightful and savory. Th blend of bacon bits, masago roe, egg and mushroom went very well with the perfectly cooked pasta. Ube Pancake Souffle: We got the freshly prepared cake after 55 minutes of wait. It was airily fluffy, wiggly, not too sweet, and quite delicious. We finished the whole cake in a snap and probably could eat couple more if we didn't need to wait for another 55 min. It was worth the wait and definitely will stop by the restaurant again. read more

Hard disappointment, with the odd hours it was hard to find a time to finally come and eat here! I was really excited about the pancakes. They were not good, I got plain I'm sure if you get the crazy toppings you wouldn't be able to taste how plain these pancakes are. Service was horrible, so wild that the screen directs you to 15% tip when you order at the kiosk. We got multiple dishes besides the pancakes and the best were the wings but not good enough to come back for. The noodles were bland and the chicken satay bowl was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance has really cool seating, you have to pay for parking if you park in their lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would not recommend unfortunately. read more
As you can tell, I'm addicted!! I love the food, drinks, and dessert. I've taken friends and family here. They all love it!!! My favorite is the carbonara with Zap chicken wings. The tom yum pasta is also the perfect balance of slightly sweet, salty, and sour. It's better with shrimp . The drinks is also delicious. I tried the tiramisu cloud signature and it is delicious!! I highly recommend! We got the green tea pancake which I think it's good, but need more matcha. The tiramisu toast is excellent though. Service is also amazing!! We sat outside since my doggo also is a foodie. The food is always come out so delicious!! I got everyone hooked on the carbonara and wings. The place is chill, but more people has discover this place so it's getting crowded!! I'm glad that means I get to enjoy their food forever. read more

My girlfriends and I absolutely loved this place and can't wait to come back when we aren't so full from after a dinner reservation! We wanted to try more than just this one dessert (Nutella Pistachio Toast)! Service was very friendly! I liked that the cashier explained to us that these lovely desserts take 15-35 minutes depending on what you order so we could be aware of that. This dessert was absolutely incredible. It didn't even need the ice cream on top because the toast, Nutella and cream itself were just to die for. 10/10 experience!!!! read more
Love their pancake soufflés here. Be ready to wait as it take 25 minutes to make BUT definitely worth the wait. The service here is awesome. It's usually one person doing most everything but she's super sweet. The soufflé pancakes are my favorite. They are so light and fluffy so you're not overly stuffed. I was craving something sweet on a Saturday night and decided to come by. I had wanted to order Togo but I understood why they don't. I ordered the tom yum pasta which is DELICIOUS. I had to come in to get my sweet treat, I enjoyed the ube soufflé pancakes and strawberry ones. They take 35 MINUTES to prepare so you will have to bring your patience :) read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is quiet. Nothing very aesthetic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is good, nothing too crazy. The food; be warned, the food takes about 30 min from when you order it because it's freshly made, so don't go if you're really hungry and want to eat here fast. Nonetheless, the pancakes are AMAZING. - Strawberry Soufflé; soft yet creamy. These pancakes don't have an eggy flavor, which I much appreciate. They are sweet and savory. The cream is like a very refined vanilla custard. 8/10 - Crème Brûlée Soufflé: immaculate, better than the strawberry in my opinion. The burnt sugar gives it a nice taste, and it's similar to what you'd expect from a top-tier tres leches cake. Spongey and soft, the pancake truly complements the crème. 9/10 - Ube Soufflé ; their best in my opinion. A soft flavor similar to a fruity pebble if it was touched by god himself. Creamy, savory, perfectly sweet. Unique taste that melts in the tongue. This is what fusion food should aim for. 10/10 read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun little dessert cafe that looks very casual like ordering at the counter but actually has some pretty fancy looking pasta.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the Basil Crab pasta and that tasted like the Cantonese style basil lobster - lots of umami and fresh basil and black pepper. Pasta was cooked well and aldente but just didn't have the bite like some other places. The other stand out for me was the Tom Kha pasta which had bright and bold flavors, highlighting the Thai fusion flavors. The carbonara and miso salmon were very good but didn't have that wow factor. Overall, highly recommend trying it and would definitely go again but not the best fusion pasta place in SoCal imo. read more
It's been a while since I last ordered from Cake de Parties. Not sure if they changed chefs, but the tom yum pasta isn't how I remember it. It used to be one of the best pastas I've had. I was craving it today, so I ordered it to go. I couldn't even wait until I got home, so I started eating it in my car. First bite... hmmm. It was just okay. My first thought was, "What happened?" I took another bite hoping it would get better, but it just wasn't like how I remembered. Overall, it was just okay. Looks like they have added more pasta to the menu. What a way to start the New Year! Searching for "souffle pancakes" and decided to make the drive from Vista on a Thursday, early afternoon. We did try them at "Morning Glory" in Hillcrest a few years back, and they were noteworthy, but when you see the pictures of options here, we were determined to give it a try. Thankfully, my husband and I enjoyed the original with butter/maple syrup and the salted caramel/banana. It took about 45m to arrive to our table, and so we took that time to try their CDP Spicy French Fries - wow, what a tasty treat! The French Fries were crispy and hot upon arrival! Also, tried a delicious Biscoff Banana Cloud Signature cold Drink for the first time and enjoyed the combination of flavors - not too sweet, and the robust taste of coffee hit the spot! What took us by surprise were the many asian inspired dishes they serve, so we decided to take home for later the Pad Thai with Chicken and Drunken Noodle - both flavorful with a hint of spice! My husband prefers thicker noodles, but these were perfect for me! I tend to be a bit picky when it comes to asian cuisine and so inspired by the options here, with good portion sizes and average prices compared to high-end places we have tried in the past. The female employee who helped us was patient, helpful and kind! Do expect a wait time for the souffle pancakes, otherwise, the service and food was exceptional! I came here with a group of friends for dessert. We tried the toast and soufflé pancakes. Personal preference, I prefer the toast. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had their salted caramel banana jiggly pancakes -- they were jiggly and good, but it took 50 minutes for them to make them (it wasn't super crowded in there) and the pancake itself was slightly dry. Green tea crepe cake was a bit bitter, but we put the little scoop of ice cream that came with our pancake- definitely helped with the flavor. You would think that this is a dessert spot, but don't underestimate their pastas and other appetizers. The inside has many tables for seating. You order at the front, and grab a number for your order to be delivered to your table. We got the different pastas, tom yum and crab. Don't skip the fluffy pancake!
