It does take a bit like 20/30mins but the food and dessert come out great. Service wise pretty chill, they mostly leave ya a long but happy to help. Big space and theres usually space to sit inside. Located on Convoy St, Cake De Partie is undoubtedly one of the best Asian Fusion and Dessert places in San Diego. This was the last place we visited during our latest trip to San Diego. We came to this place to have brunch on our way back to home. This place is trendy and always very busy with people. Luckily, we were the first customers of the day and the place just opened the time we got in. The inside of this place was clean and the decor was very festive and inviting. We ordered Chicken Wing Zapp, Tom Kha Chicken Pasta, Caramel Macchiato, Salt Caramel Banana Pancake Soufflé, and Hibiscus Pomegranate Soda. Their Soufflé Pancakes usually take 30-45 minutes to prepare, so it's better to order when you arrive. However, as I mentioned earlier that, we were the first customers, so they were able to serve Soufflé Pancake within 20 minutes. Their food and drinks were literally so good! The Salt Caramel Banana Pancake Soufflé and the Tom Kha Chicken Pasta were the best breakfast items among all the dishes. The prices were a bit high, but still reasonable considering the quality of their food. People who work here are friendly, humble, and cooperative. I've been here a few times, usually for their awesome crepe cakes, but this time su tried their pasta! I got the green curry pasta and it was soooo good! I was expecting noodles even though the menu clearly states pasta, so I was confused at first, but still very yummy! The portion is a good size, so I ate half for lunch and the other half for dinner. A hidden gem in San Diego/ convoy area!! Really wanted to gatekeep this place, but I honestly love this place soooo much and the food and service deserves all the recognition. This place is very roomy! They have a small patio area in the back great for dogs! I came here to try their zap chicken wings recommended by one of the workers from The Friendly. Hard disappointment, with the odd hours it was hard to find a time to finally come and eat here! I was really excited about the pancakes. They were not good, I got plain I'm sure if you get the crazy toppings you wouldn't be able to taste how plain these pancakes are. Service was horrible, so wild that the screen directs you to 15% tip when you order at the kiosk. We got multiple dishes besides the pancakes and the best were the wings but not good enough to come back for. The noodles were bland and the chicken satay bowl was good. The restaurant is located in a small building with very limited spaces (20 min free then $3 per hour. Some people suggested to park on J&J Plaza behind the building on the weekends). Inside it has a gen Z vibe décor with painted art wall, and a mixture of regular table and round sofa seating arrangements, large enough to accommodate 50+ people. A warning and FYI: The average waiting time for the pancake is 50 minutes. So, make sure you are not in a hurry when coming in for the pancakes. We ordered the following dishes: Miso Salmon Pasta (No Cheese): The pasta was cooked to perfection and slightly al dente. The bits of salmon were very tender. The sauce was light, with only a hint of miso, and quite savory. Tom Yum Shrimp Pasta: The noodles also had a very nice firmness. The sauce was exquisitely flavorful: savory, spicy, not too sour and slightly sweet. The shrimps were fresh and had good texture. Carbonara Pasta: The sauce was not as heavy as traditional carbonara and it was quite delightful and savory. Th blend of bacon bits, masago roe, egg and mushroom went very well with the perfectly cooked pasta. Ube Pancake Souffle: We got the freshly prepared cake after 55 minutes of wait. It was airily fluffy, wiggly, not too sweet, and quite delicious. We finished the whole cake in a snap and probably could eat couple more if we didn't need to wait for another 55 min. Fun little dessert cafe that looks very casual like ordering at the counter but actually has some pretty fancy looking pasta. I got the Basil Crab pasta and that tasted like the Cantonese style basil lobster - lots of umami and fresh basil and black pepper. Pasta was cooked well and aldente but just didn't have the bite like some other places. The other stand out for me was the Tom Kha pasta which had bright and bold flavors, highlighting the Thai fusion flavors. The carbonara and miso salmon were very good but didn't have that wow factor. What a way to start the New Year! Searching for "souffle pancakes" and decided to make the drive from Vista on a Thursday, early afternoon. We did try them at "Morning Glory" in Hillcrest a few years back, and they were noteworthy, but when you see the pictures of options here, we were determined to give it a try. It took about 45m to arrive to our table, and so we took that time to try their CDP Spicy French Fries - wow, what a tasty treat! The French Fries were crispy and hot upon arrival! Also, tried a delicious Biscoff Banana Cloud Signature cold Drink for the first time and enjoyed the combination of flavors - not too sweet, and the robust taste of coffee hit the spot! What took us by surprise were the many asian inspired dishes they serve, so we decided to take home for later the Pad Thai with Chicken and Drunken Noodle - both flavorful with a hint of spice! My husband prefers thicker noodles, but these were perfect for me! I tend to be a bit picky when it comes to asian cuisine and so inspired by the options here, with good portion sizes and average prices compared to high-end places we have tried in the past. The female employee who helped us was patient, helpful and kind! Do expect a wait time for the souffle pancakes, otherwise, the service and food was exceptional!
