Denise, the "Queen of cakes", has been baking cakes for years. She originally opened up the bakery next door making cakes to order for special occasions, and has recently taken over the adjoining cafe so we all have a chance to sample her delicious wears! As well as cakes, the cafe offers homemade savoury snacks such as sausage rolls and quiches, as well as light lunches and cream teas. The coffee is high quality and reasonably priced, and the tea and hot chocolate are fab too. And the cake is heavenly... succulent, sweet, cheap: a deliciously naughty treat! Combine it with a smoothie to feel slightly better about it, as they too are delightful. I recommend trying something you haven't had before: there are some really excellent surprises! I won't spoil them here, but get out of your comfort zone. So, another cafe in the North Laines...
