We are extremely disappointed and exhausted after dealing with this company.
We hired Caledonian Homes, working with Amanda Froehlich Chow, to build a fireplace and four shelves. The project was supposed to start on December 4th, and as of January 9th, 35 days later, the work is still not completed.
Throughout this entire period, we have had to constantly follow up just to find out if and when someone would show up. And every single time they came, what was supposed to be done was not completed. Worse than that, each visit resulted in new damage to our home.
Service times have been extremely inconvenient and unprofessional - including weekends with no prior notice and even late at night (1 AM!!). They do not prepare or protect the work area at all: no floor protection, no furniture covering, and they even walked into our home wearing snowy, muddy boots with rocks, all over our brand-new floors. Lovely.
You hire what you believe is a serious and responsible company to build a fireplace, and instead you end up with a dirty house, potential floor damage, multiple issues to fix - and possibly needing a prescription for anti-anxiety medication.
At some point, I may go into detail about what these 35 days of frustration and stress have really been like. I resisted writing this review for a long time, but not doing so would be a disservice to Saskatoon and surrounding areas . I don't know how many people will read this, but if even one reasonable person reads it and decides to choose another company, that will already be enough.
Do not hire this company under any circumstances. read more
