Unacceptable Customer Service Experience I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the service I received from one of your employees, Ronit (C/16511404), during today visit to your branch. My father, who lives in Algeria where cash is the only method of transaction, visited me in Canada for the first time in 24 years. I went to your location to convert euro to Canadian currency on his behalf, to help him manage his stay here. I fully understand that for transactions of $3,000 and above, customer identification and additional questions are required as per government regulations. I have a background in finance, having worked in banks, and I am currently a financial officer responsible for managing government loans and grants. I know these protocols well--and I also know they can and should be handled with professionalism and respect. Unfortunately, the service I received from Ronit was neither professional nor respectful. She was dismissive, unhelpful, and made an inappropriate remark: "You don't have to come to us," which is simply unacceptable. Her tone and demeanor made it clear that she had no interest in assisting me as a customer making a significant transaction. This was a deeply disappointing experience. As someone assisting a family member from a country with a very different financial system, I expected a basic level of understanding and courtesy. Instead, I was made to feel as though I was an inconvenience. It came across very clearly that she does not enjoy her job, and her demeanor made the entire interaction unpleasant. This is unacceptable from someone in a customer-facing role, especially in a financial setting where trust, clarity, and respect are crucial. I urge your company to address this internally and ensure your staff receive proper training in customer service, cultural sensitivity, and professionalism. I can't imagine many people take their time to review a Forex place unless they have a bad experience so don't get too scared off by the reviews. Just my experience but came here at about 4pm on a Tuesday and there was no line, they were quick and polite and overall can't complain. read more

I WILL NEVER GO BACK!! It took me 15 minutes of walking around on the phone with these guys, trying to find out where they were. She didn't even know any of the shops or restaurants next to her or the name of the building they were in and her accent made it near impossible to understand her! Instead of just transferring my call to someone who knows the area better, she just talks over you and rambles on! Terrible customer service! Then the fee they charge makes it the same amount as the banks! WHAT A JOKE!!! When I finally find them, no thanks to the unhelpful lady on the phone but thanks to a security guard across the street in a completely different building, these guys have a full glass enclosure where you can't hear a word they say (no speakers, no microphones!) and you end up yelling at them just so they hear you! They will also ask you 500 questions like you a thief and waste your time. They asked me what I was spending my cash on when I get it like I'm a 15 year old student! I understand the government is concerned about crime but it's really none of their business!! The stress of parking downtown and dealing with people who I'm not sure how they made it to work that day, is not worth it!!! after all that stress I popped over to my bank and for 0.01% more (which added up to less than their BS fee), I got my other cash with no stress! Took a while to set things up but once I got it done, it seems better than TD Bank.

Calforex is a horrible business if you want a wire transfer. Yes, their staff acts nicely but they are poorly informed. I informed them on the phone, before I came, that I was changing over $10,000 into US funds and transferring to an overseas brokerage account for investment purposes. I phoned them because I wanted to make sure I had all my ducks in a row when I arrived. They said to bring in either my drivers or my passport, the money order ( for exchange to US funds), and the wire transfer information. I got there and brought the money order from my bank, my drivers license plus my passport, and the wire transfer information. I showed my drivers license and they converted the money fine enough then started to enter the wire transfer and the fun began. They entered the information then started to ask questions like what stocks am I investing in? Should that matter? They spent a lot of time talking on the phone with their compliance department and typing. They asked whether I had an invoice for the stocks I was purchasing? What? Generally you have a brokerage account then you purchase stocks. They were wondering why don't you invest here? Perhaps because I saw opportunities in the Asian market for certain companies not listed on exchanges here. THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE. I had to move my car because I was in a 30 minute zone and repay again for parking elsewhere. I came back and stared at the glass for another 20 minutes while they talked on the phone and typed. They asked me where I got the money and how I obtained it? Money I earned and saved up and was now trying to invest I told them? They stated their compliance office had to check all this for FINTrac regulations. I asked them what FINTrac was and they said it was regulations they had to follow. I looked it up FINTrac is an organization in Canada that tries to stop terrorism funding and money laundering. I guess investing your own hard earned money is money laundering or terrorism. They refused to do my wire transfer and I was left stunned. They said do I want a bank draft in my name? They said I should deposit it in my US dollar bank account and do the wire transfer from there. THEY COMPLETELY WASTED MY TIME. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN and unless you want the same run around you should not either. read more

Very professional, always quick, and they have huge variety of exotic currencies on hand, as well as doing other types of financial transactions like wire transfers. Rates are okay, a bit more than you'd pay at an ATM in a foreign country (incl. foreign ABM charge), but then again finding an ATM that works in another country is not always straightforward. read more
