The team is made up of College and University students from across North America, and the Dawgs play in the Western Major Baseball League. The venue is very family friendly. The cost of the tickets is low - $12.50 for seats, and $5 for the berm. We've done both, and neither have disappointed. There are often activities and events for little league teams as well. You can tell the community really loves this team, and every time we go to a game we feel like we're a part of that community. The Stadium seats 3000, which is a great size for minor league play. It is new (built in 2007) and clean. The stands are never empty, which makes for a great atmosphere. You can also tell that the fans really love baseball. The parking is free as well! I can't say enough good things about the Dawgs! #GoDawgsGo!

It's not packed but plenty of fan base... If not more then most WHL teams. It feels like going to a Flames game from the professional side of things like concessions, aisle attendees, entertainment, etc. But the cost and less crowds are a big bonus. No rushing or crowd control issues. If you can't afford a flames game, you will definitely enjoy going to a Hitmen game while saving money.

This is quality hockey - at least as good as we're going to get in Calgary right now. Games this season seem a bit more busy, perhaps due to people trying to get their fill of hockey in spite of the NHL lockout. The Calgary Flames own the Hitmen now though, so it really doesn't make a big difference. One of the original founders of the Hitmen was Bret "The Hitman" Hart, and that's where the inspiration for their name came from. As far as the venue goes, there could be improvements. The saddledome is showing her age and either needs some updating or replacement (as rumored). The food isn't the greatest, and the beer selection is subpar. But I can't dock the Hitmen stars for this, because they play in the best arena that is currently available in Calgary. I have taken my niece to West ed Mall, galaxy land, skycastle, kidsgo, and so many other kid friendly parks within this last week. I'm babysitting her while her parents are gone and this is by far our favorite place to spend a day!

There are gymnasiums to work out gym to ice rinks and party rooms. Swimming is my main focus as that it is the warmer of the ones in Calgary. Wave pool and water slides. Overall nice to spend time in summer or winter.
