I suppose it makes sense that they're mainly about police so far, because that's often the only interaction with local government that many residents have. To them those officers are the "face" of their city. My own experience over the years has been decidedly positive. Usually just threatening to call the police is enough to handle someone who's disturbing the peace, but at the rare times when police have been involved I've found them to be very professional and effective. I've thought this for many years: Most cops are good, many are heroes, a few are bullies. In other words they're about the same as most other groups of human beings. Only in departments where corrupt bullies keep their jobs and get promoted do things really go south - I'm happy to live in a community where I see zero indications of that. The only complaint I've personally heard about police was from a fellow who was stranded somewhere miles from home, and he "asked a cop for a ride and he wouldn't give it to me!" Wow, tragic. And he didn't even buy you a slushie so you could keep cool during your walk home in 80s degree weather? Compounded cruelty. No doubt he filed a lawsuit and, this being California, probably won it.

I don't you know who these people work for exactly the county the community the city? however roads are poor ,trash is not included in property taxes there is no sewer system installed unless you pay for your nose, yet they are trying to get us Incorporated for the sole purpose of paying the volunteer firefighters most Hoover on professionally trained or qualified. to me raising taxes and incorporating means truly good roads a real police department sewers and trash service included, we have none of these!

2024 Carvana PPA Tour - The Masters was held at the Mission Hills Country Club which happens to be…read morelocated in the City of Rancho Mirage. My eldest daughter and I were there this past weekend to watch their Pro pickleball championship matches. It was an amazing event! Anyway, I had to drive through the City of Rancho Mirage to get to the event and out of the city to head home. What a beautiful city within the Palm Springs vicinity! Some of the communities are gated. I'm guessing they may be retirement homes for the local residents. Streets are very well maintained. Palm trees are planted all over the place. It was a very nice drive through into the city and out from it. Pleasant and quiet. This city may be a good choice for retirees. P.S. I noticed a lot of the street names are named after celebrities. Sure enough per Google, "Rancho Mirage is home to a number of celebrities past and present, including Don Sutton, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Sammy Davis Jr., Lucille Ball, Bob Hope, Billie Dove and Gerald and Betty Ford."
