This is my new favorite spot to go to! I am just getting into self-care and going to salons, and i've been using the trim pod and it is excellent. I have really been enjoying red light therapy. The services they provide are amazing, and worth the membership. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. Trisity went above and beyond,. when I went in recently I had a lot of questions and she answered every one of them. She offered essential oils in the trimpod which was new for me, and I really enjoyed them. She also explained all the products that would be helpful for certain services, and I bought my new favorite product the 'Triple Threat' which I ended up loving. I really enjoy this spot and will keep coming back, I just wish it was closer to me. read more

If I didn't have a multi-tanning package I would not go back to this location. I went in at 1015 for a spray tan and the room that I was escorted too was in shambles. Carpet was just thrown in the room and the girls running the place simply threw it into place. The door would not close because she didn't place it properly so it took me having to move the trash can out of the room and rearranging things to make everything fit so the door would close. Next, and worst bay FAR was how DISGUSTING the spray tan booth was--had I not asked for booties (which in other Cal Tans you don't have to do), I wouldn't have stepped in that thing!!! Filthy!! People's hair, dried up tan chunks or some sort of nastiness all over the floor. I can tell you it hadn't been cleaned in days if not longer!! Truthfully, they should provide me a refund just for putting me in such a germ ridden, unsanitary environment! This place just keeps getting worse and worse! Absolutely, positively a wonderful experience. Smiling happy faces greet you ( even when they are busy they are pleasant) I love that they explained everything to me. No hard sale. Just good advice. I did purchase the plan with access to everything! Worth every penny!!! One hour of my time to receive red light therapy, the pod for true relaxation, a gravity massage ( the little balls rolling over the bottom of your foot is heavily) and finished off with a spray tan. I look forward to going again. I was happy to give them my business especially Since they made me feel so welcomed. She took the time to go through like 10 of the sample packets of lotion to find the $4 one for me as I always buy my stuff from Amazon because I'm mindful about my spending. The female at the front desk was by herself and there was a line she was checking someone new in come to find out in the end however in the 15 minutes I was standing there she never once said I will be right with you. She continued to help the customer that was new but in the mean time put a mint in her mouth and starting chewing it and talking at the same time and it sounded like her teeth were breaking. I just felt that the customer service was not there but I don't know her name because she was not wearing a name tag. read more

I hate to do this but clients please beware. I've been going to California sun for years and recently was charged an absurd fee for a late charge. Okay, I have no problem paying a late fee if it was my fault. My debit card expired and I was unaware that I would need to contact this business to update the new card info. Instead of contacting me to let me know my card was no longer going through, California sun continued to increase the amount that was due despite the fact they had my email and cell phone info. Had I not gone in to tan which I do not do too frequently, they would have never contacted me and continued to add to the fee due. Imo this is not good Customer service and seems like a way for this business to increase revenue to the company. Well lost my business is all I can say. read more

You, nor your staff, care about your existing customers, UNLESS they are spending MORE money (on lotions or upgrades). They're not that dumb as to believe your blanket responses to your bad a Yelp reviews. And No, the bulbs are Not changed regularly, or when they Need to be. I ask about every bed I use, every time I go... and I am told and see the on the monitor how old and used they are... And for an entire year the bulbs were not changed. And you think that 9 people waiting for So long that they actually get upset and leave is ok? "Because there is only two computers, so the other person on duty can't help", even tho the other two are knee-deep in lotion bottles and small talk? Not professional. Not convenient. Stressful! I haven't been here in probably a year. I go to California tan now. The beds here are newer than California tan, but It is nearly impossible to cancel your contract. Nothing related to money with this place is easy. Constantly up selling you charging you for everything and they make it a huge pain to cancel your contract. Not worth the hassle. read more

It's many locations is convenient. The staff is way to hit or miss. Some are great, others are the exact opposite! Discouraging that they keep up selling the memberships but add simple things to charge for. I pay $62 a month but now it's an extra $2 every visit so I do not "turn orange" from the sunless tan. The only reason I am not giving this location 5 stars is because I've been to the other locations, which are better (nicer). This location is very "Auburn" but the beds are nice enough and the workers are friendly and helpful. The gal that helped me was horrible. I told her it was my wedding and she barely told me what to do. She added this ph spray which I did probably like a year ago and so I went in there assuming I did my Normal 4 poses as she didn't tell me differently. So I used the ph spray for my front side and half of my body and then it said it was done and would go to my next course. Naturally I freaked because I just did 1 1/2 parts of my body. She never apologized once for not clearly explaining the process. She said it wouldn't make a difference that I didn't do my entire body....which makes me wonder what is the purpose of buying the add on if it doesn't really do anything. read more

I am so frustrated with this business! I live in Colfax so it's about a 25-minute drive to get to the salon and tonight will be the third time I have gotten here at 9 o'clock on the dot and they refuse service to me saying that I have shown up later than 9. Not only did I drive all the way here for absolutely nothing yet again-about a week ago I made the 25-minute drive yet again just for them to tell me my account had been terminated for some unknown reason that none of the employees would tell me( I didn't catch this employee's name but she was extremely rude). When I finally got a response from the manager via telephone after many failed attempted calls to corporate he explained to me that they had found drugs in the room that I had been tanning in one of the previous nights when I was there and that they assumed it was mine which to me is outrageous that they could even make such an accusation with no proof.. this means I lost a week of tanning because of some ridiculous accusation that had nothing to do with me! Don't get me wrong though, the manager (Mike) was extremely kind and once we talked and I explained myself he assured me that he would take the hold off of my membership so as soon as I heard this I sped over to the salon and to make matters worse my windshield wipers stopped working halfway there so I was speeding to get there on time with no windshield wipers in the pouring rain just to get there at 9:01 p.m. and have one of the rudest employees there named Kylie tell me that they were closed without even having the courtesy to open the door and hear me out so I attempted to call corporate and explain to them the situation that I had just driven a half an hour and wasted at least $10 in gas in the pouring rain so that I could tan because I am in a rush to get some color being I have a photo shoot that was scheduled for last week that I already had to reschedule the shoot due to the fact that they put a hold on my account so I didn't have the tan that I needed for the photoshoot. All together to say that this situation has been an inconvenience would be the understatement of the year. I have never had to deal with so much drama at a tanning salon in my entire life. My previous tanning salon they would let me come in and tan until they were completely done cleaning and leaving themselves. And it's not like the registers were shut down or anything because there was still another customer in there getting ready to go tan so obviously this Kylie girl had absolutely no compassion nor did corporate. I love the equipment and the tanning salon itself but the customer service I have received is astounding. Some of the day staff is very friendly and helpful but the girls that I have had to deal with at night time, which is normally the only time I can make it over, are very rude and seem to be annoyed anytime I have any questions; another words they are too lazy to adequately perform their job correctly. Unfortunately this is really the only tanning salon I can afford that is in my area. I just hope that things will improve from this point on and I will not encounter anymore rude employees like Kylie. My advice to anyone looking for a place to tan would be too check out some other places first before making a commitment at this salon if you have the option to unless you want to deal with stuck up girls that are obviously unhappy with their jobs and seem to think they are better then everyone else. Again I will say that the Price Is Right and the equipment is extremely high quality but it's just not worth it if I'm having to drive 5 times a week and waste time and gas money just to be either rejected for service or treated very unprofessionally. I will say again Mike the manager was extremely kind and understanding though I just wish I could have spoken to him directly this evening and maybe I wouldn't have had such a upsetting experience. Here's to hoping my future month of tanning with California Sun is better than this last one! geez I'm Italian and I get color extremely easy normally -however I barely even have a tan to show for it which is ridiculous because I've had this membership for almost 2 months now so that should tell you right there how often these Mix-Ups seem to be happening. I bought my friend what I thought was "unlimited" tanning for a month for her birthday. Nothing was explained to me, they charged me &47.50 and sent me on my way. When my friend tried to use her sessions, not only was it in no way unlimited, but she was asked to pay another $15 to extend the sessions to a month long period. When I called corporate office to get a refund, the so called supervisor of the company would not refund even part of my money due to store policy. What kind of business takes a customers money, won't offer services paid for, and will not offer a refund? As far as I'm concerned they stole money from me. What a scam. read more

The salons nice but only reasonably priced if you sign up for a contract. I did for a couple years. There were alway charging me late fees if my account didnt have money in it on the day it withdrew and even a couple times when it did. Corporate is of no help. The lines are long and if you get stuck behind someone making a sale your screwed. They shove that tanning lotion speal down your throught every time with their insanly expensive lotion. They obviously make commision and its apparent. Also they make you show your id and eyewear everytime you go. I would dread going through the check in process at any cal sun location. Went in to buy a month membership for my girlfriend for Christmas. The woman who helped me was one of the rudest and condescending people I've ever dealt with. She constantly tried to up sell me and after repeatedly stating what I wanted she finally sold me one month of unlimited basic level tanning for $79.00, but wasn't able to figure out how to run a credit card. She got someone on the phone to run my card and then wasn't able to provide me with any documentation of the transaction. I was given a membership for Christmas as well (the same as I purchased for my girlfriend but for some reason was cheaper). I went in to start tanning and was again treated condescendingly by a different employee, who couldn't find my account and said the only thing I could do was to purchase another membership. I called corporate who found my membership with no problem, but refused to provide me with a refund. This business has the worst customer service possible and is only interested in up selling and scamming as much money out of you as they can. I've been told the employees in their Roseville location are actually friendly and helpful. I would recommend using another location if you want to use this company. read more
