Till now we have no idea what happened, they said teacher was serving food and he put his hand in the pasta ( how come serving super hot lunch for toddlers????) and then they mentioned their food not supposed to serve hot, just keep ignoring and avoiding to explain how this accident happened especially they did not contact us immediately and let us know, instead they waited 6 hours until I came to pick him up, my son seems he cried lots his eyes were red and teary he was in pain and nobody helped him they did not even do first aid (just cold water) when I arrived he had blister and his hand was red. I took him to a doctor and she said that's unusual happened in a daycare its very bad burns and they had to put a silver based antibiotics as a first aid. By law they must have a properly trained personnel and proper first aid kits. We have lots of suspicions around what really happened. I had to quit my job and stay home with my son. We lost our trust of any daycare. I do not recommend this place at all. BTW they locked Google reviews so people now not able to write anything....

Kepler Academy is focused on exploratory education from an early start. They've developed a curriculum focused on your child's cognitive, emotional, mental and physical development through exploration, creativity and play. This really shows when you walk into the facility and see the work that has gone into furnishing the place (with sustainable furniture from Natural Pod) to the interactive, tech-enabled & educational toys selected based on STEM. The care providers are hand selected and trained well on the Kepler vision and I've heard wonderful things about the care since. My child does not go to this facility (yet) but I know it's important to be able to keep tabs on the child so Kepler even has their own app where parents can track their child's progress, communicate with staff and see updates about their child through the day. Also of note, Kepler will be opening two new facilities this summer - one in College Plaza near the University of Alberta and another downtown in the Standard Life Building. We first noticed his whining stopped, his listening improved, he started communicating his feelings, sharing actively and energeticly about his day. We attribute these positive changes to the teachers, their control of the classroom, the scheduled learning, and focused independent attention he has been receiving. In addition with the very healthy meal plan that is freshly cooked daily and offered to our son his willingness to try new foods has increased exponentially. We have seen our son engage in his learning toys at home, creating and building, writing and drawing and wanting to learn more and asking inquisitive questions. His mood at pick up is positive and on the ride home he chats my ear off, which is a big change from his cranky and request for quite in the car when I would pick him up from the old child care facility. The staff is amazing, they definitely enjoy what they do and care about your child's development. They communicate daily with you on your child's progress and have a posted monthly lesson plan that is updated as completed. If you are not happy with your current care facility or want your child to receive fresh health homemade food like smoothies and tuna with avacodo sandwiches, oatmeal cookie etc or you want your child to grow interpersonal kepler is the place for you! Our son has been attending for over a year and we could not be happier with the staff and the owner. Every day when I pick my son up he talks about how much fun he had at "school", he loves the food, and he is always very happy when we drop him off. Most of the staff have been there since he started and having a low turnover in a daycare is a hard thing to do these days. Part of my job is interviewing and hiring educational assistants to work with special needs students in schools so you better believe that I did a very thorough job in researching a place to send my own child. I asked all the right questions and I know what to look for in people who care about early education. Aleksandra, the owner, is a constant presence and has very high standards for her staff. She is an early education professional with a teaching background and we love that she and her staff bring real learning and fun into the daily routine. The daycare and all the toys are extremely clean, the food is amazing (my son loves Serbian donut day), the daycare itself changes every month with a new theme, decorations and fun activities, Aleksandra is always taking pictures and documenting the learning and activities, and there are multiple opportunities for the parents and kids to get together and celebrate different things throughout the year. Anyone who is looking for a quality daycare for their child should seriously consider St. Albert Montessori School.
