I (by the books) am Catholic, however, I find the Catholic Church anything but informational, spiritual, and open to diversity. My husband and I started going to non-denominational churches as we have made our way moving across the country. We have found that the style of these churches (rock band, inspiring/in-depth sermons) have really hit home to us. When we first moved to Agoura Hills we tried several of these churches, but the best (we've ever been to) is Gateway Church. I will never forget the first day (first 3 minutes) we were at Gateway. As we were entering the church, we were greeted with a VERY pleasant and Genuine smile from Joseph. He then introduced us to 5 or so more people, all who acted similarly. While I understand many people are turned off by this, I have never been so welcomed into a community so quickly, so un judged, so happily. Now, because of certain circumstances in my life, I am unfortunately not able to attend every week, sometimes several weeks of church. However, despite only having been a few times, they always recognize us and are able to recall our story and check in on our lives. Today, was the best day when it comes to the community. After church, we stood speaking with the pastor Brian for a few minutes, and was then approached by Kelly. She reached out to us asking (no judgment) if we would like to attend Bible Study. It was so wonderful, as I had during church been thinking I would like to get to know the people in the church even better, become a little more involved, and learn just a bit more, and there she was. The community in this church is mind-blowing. If you are looking to create a family out in the community, look no further. Please visit Gateway Church. The next best thing from the community are the sermons. The quality, time, and effort put into each weeks sermons are just incredibly educational and moving. Week after week, I leave church with a new message in my hands hoping to carry it on. I, also, really like at the very beginning of most sermons they have a video that discusses a section of the Bible through drawings (making it fun!). As I was looking on their website today, I noticed that they have their sermons posted online to listen to. So, if for whatever reason you couldn't attend church for that Sunday, but would like to still hear God's message, you can listen in for 30 minutes or so. Spectacular. Finally, the music. While it might be a little loud, (just a little), It is so uplifting. Everyone in the room is singing, slightly dancing, clapping their hands, and are speaking to The Lord. If any of what I have said interests you, I strongly encourage you to check this church out. I'm never going to want to leave Agoura Hills.

They have a cute band of players and some excellent reverends that they host, many are traveling although they do also feature a more regular attending pastor who is a Angeleno. It's nice crowd- salt of the earth people and a far cry from the flashiness you can find at other LA churches. They sing for the first half hour & pause for a coffee clutch while the stragglers head in. They have fascinating photos in the back of old LA & Topanga Canyon. I love viewing those. Some may say this is a"born again" church. Perhaps but being raised within another denomination myself, I find my soul finds the nourishment it's looking for here all the same. They are very welcoming and open to anyone who attends a service. All are welcome. I'm very grateful for the country church

The worship band plays wonderful modern, as well as classic music-- and is chock full of talented Topangan musicians. The messages from the pastors are motivating, and the fellowship with other Topangans and people who actually come from miles around, to this special little place, is the highlight of my week. The church has a special ambience and is a historic building. When you step inside you know you are in a wonderful home for your spirit!

He is authentic, enthusiastic, and genuinely interested in inspiring every person who attends. The church has services and events that appeal to people who are moved by modern, innovative spiritual experiences as well as to those who like a traditional service. I enjoy the music in both types of services. The congregation is very friendly, warm, and welcoming. Becoming a part of this church community has been a true blessing for my family. I couldn't recommend attending WHPC more.

Since approximately 6 months prior to Covid, I became a regular attending visitor. During all that time I have always had nothing but the most wonderful of in-person interactions with it's staff and members. When interacting with them as a 12 step representative, the staff have always gone out of their way to provide my group with anything and everything that we need to make the meeting go forward and succeed. As just a visitor, they (Staff and Members) always make be feel welcome and as part of the family. Never once have I heard any negativity within the wall of this wonderful Church. As a member of my 12 step group, I speak for the meeting, by saying that we (the meeting) are extremely appreciative of everything that Woodland Hills Presbyterian Church has done for us. Without having this Church as our meeting location, I, many time wonder where some of my friends would be today if they didn't have our meeting to attend for sobriety and support. I send Much Love to All the Staff and Members of this wonderful Church.
