Dating back to the 1890s this hotel was purpose built and is impressive inside and out. The views from the rooms are majestic. However as to the rooms themselves, beds very comfy. Rooms decorated okay. Facilities are definitely in need of upgrading and furniture is a bit of an odd mix and frankly a bit 1950's I think its done for period effect. However the rooms do not have conventional bathrooms, instead stepping through the door is like entering a static caravan bathroom, built of plastic with loo and shower, step on the drain hole and you can flood the bathroom. Definitely al throwback. Tv small. Lack of tray, small cups, the kind of things you would not expect in a hotel of this stature. The really good outstanding thing was the excellent service and freindlyness of the staff. read more
