This review is specifically for the one on Washington Street across from the court. This was a great little library. Centrally located with easy parking and in a very cute part of town. Staff was relatively helpful. I had some issues reserving a room, but the librarian on duty was very accommodating when the system wasn't quite working right. The wifi works well and there are a number of cozy places to sit and read or do work. While there was only one conference room you could realistically have a call or meeting in, there is also a nice study corner (pictured with the glass) that was a very productive place for me to work. All in all the library is well laid out, with a separate children's section away from the more quiet study and work areas. Note that the study/conference room is right next to the children's area. But the door is relatively insulated and the fact that children might be noisy nearby makes one less likely to feel bad about having an animated phone call or meeting.

Online has a huge selection of ebooks and audiobooks you can download through Kindle, Ipad, and Adobe. The wifi can be spotty, but it's free so I never complain. The computers usually get taken quickly as do the study booths. The bathrooms are clean and the conference rooms are nice. Also, there's a good selection of music. The first floor children's area has more games than you can imagine along with a lizard!! Parking can be painful. The garage under the library is not recommended if you have a large SUV or truck. It gets really tight. Sometimes, it's just easier to pay for street parking.

Sure, why not?…read more Here's what matters: - No, we would never dream of coming here on a certain day in February - Parking was super easy at the rear lot for the library/police station/fire department/hair care/tire center - Apparently when it snows and gets icy, the locals don't believe in salting their sidewalks - We saw Phil in his burrow from the outside window. Downside is that Phil's burrow looked a little philthy. Looked like some combo of gnats/flies/ants/bugs in and around Phil's food dish which is kind of disgusting. Is their a need to come here? Of course not. But I guess what the hell, just to say that you've been to a place that is semi-relevant in this country's consciousness for a brief time in the morning once a year.

The library is home to Phil's Burrow. Yes, that Phil. Punxsutawney Phil. You know who I'm talking about. That loveable dude that we all either want to hug or hate on February 2nd. Groundhog Day. I do have to be an aside here, and it has to do with the movie. If you saw the movie and you think you know, you don't. The movie wasn't even taped in Punxsy, it was taped in some town in Illinois. For the longest time I had no idea where this was located and I have been to the festivals at least twice in my life. I thought it was some mystical place that would be glamorous, but it isn't. Well, it is a bit mystical as it is a library. You can view Phil one of two ways. You can view from outside and see into his burrow. Or, or maybe and, you can go inside the library and view him on the platform in the children's literature section of the library. You will get to see Phil in his habitat. But you know what is really cool, Phil has a spouse. You will never guess what his spouse's name is...Phyllis. I was impressed by that. Give this a stop while in the area.

You literally can just feel the history in the walls of this place…read more The Miller House (which also houses the Washington County Historical Society) was built in 1825 and may just look like an ordinary brick building from the front, but you would never guess this structure has over 20 rooms and 4 staircases. Ms. Linda, the Executive Director of the historical society, gave my classmates and I a tour of the house and it was amazing (and a workout). If you're looking for a place with a lot of Civil War history, this is it! Stop by in Hagerstown and check this place out, then find an awesome place to eat down the street! The Monroeville Library very much is a hub of activity for the community! There is always…read moresomething going on for people of all ages and interests! Take a look at the calendar and you will find crafting classes (I've made jewelry, painted, made a scarecrow wreath), attended talks on local and national political issues, heard from Holocaust survivors and been entertained by magicians and musicians. They have foreign language classes, game nights and even karaoke! The upper floor is the "adult" section where they have all the books and media geared towards adults. It also houses event rooms, computers and the maker space. I think one of my favorite and unique things about this library is all the unique things you can take out. They have everything from cake decorating kits to power tools! Even outdoor games. They also have a fabric "library" where you can grab fabric, threads and patterns for free for your sewing or other project needs. The downstairs level has an events space and the children's room. The children's room is always a buzz with activity and in addition to a lot of books, they also have a puppet theater and tons of educational toys to keep your little ones occuped. The only down side to the library is that the parking lot is at the side of the building. If you have acceccibility needs, there are a few spaces close to the entrance, but otherwise you have a short walk down the sidewalk to get into the main entrance. I love our local library and hope everyone knows about and takes advantage of all of its amazing materials and services.

They have different areas for kids, books, computers, for sale books, for rent items such as tools or cricut, rooms, and even offered food pantry items if needed. The bathrooms were dirty and small. There was a long line due to the lack of stalls. Customer service was OK. I'd come back though!
