Don't go there, misleading and unhelpful I solved the computer problem myself by plugging in another lead. Making a saving of £500 which is what he recommended I buy a new laptop. Where's the honesty gone with shop owners today? I reported them to the trading standards. read more

Ok, I didn't want to write a negative review, as I believed we had come to an agreement, though this appears not to be the case. I sent my girlfriends laptop here to get a screen repaired - I went through the process, and they told me the laptop screen would be £125 ish, so i decided to go ahead, and pay £35 deposit. They picked up the laptop, and once received, gave me a crazy quote of around £700 to replace, of course I declined, I mean, I'd already gone through the process and they told me it was £125, why the huge jump? My girlfriend spoke to the person at the office, whom informed her she would get refunded her £35, as we paid that on the premise it would cost £135 to fix, but at £700 obviously we're not going to continue. We were then told later that she would not be receiving any money back. So basically they said they could fix it for £125, got us to pay a £35 deposit, then priced it up to £700 and refused to refund the deposit. I wasn't happy , so spoke to a gentleman named Dawid Golec, we came to an agreement where he would give me £20 discount for any further work required. I wasn't overly happy with that, but it seemed it was the best I was going to get. He ased me to email him directly and he would apply the discount and get it sorted. Now, myself and my girlfriend both have broken IPhone screens (It's like they're made of ice!) and I have attempted on a number of occasions to contact Dawid, and he has never replied. Basically, they stole £35 from us, that is how I'm seeing it. I just want to warn others that these people don't do ethical business, and it certainly seems like they did it just to get some money for nothing, and now we're left out of pocket. I'm sure some people have had an OK experience, but personally, I would STRONGLY advise prospective customers to look else where, for a more professional company. read more

I am very disappointed with my experience when my laptop came out of repair in worse condition than when I checked it in. I spilled some liquid on my laptop, but luckily only the trackpad was affected. I called Cambridge Laptop Repair and was given a quote of £40 for a keyboard cleanup (and at most £80 for a replacement keyboard). So I brought it in to have it cleaned, only then be told that there is another £35 non-refundable assessment fee. Fine, I already took the trouble of getting there, fine. I got a call two days later quoting me a price for a replacement keyboard that would take 2 weeks to install for a price of £80. Due to the nature of my work, I can't spend two weeks laptop-less. So I went to pick it up, thinking I would just buy a wireless keyboard/mouse set and work from there. So far, not too bad. When I got it back, I noticed that there are damages on the frame of my laptop. It seems as if the technician tried to pry open the keyboard with brute force and that dug a hole of about 0.5cm into the frame. There are also problems such as deletion of account password protection, disabling system restore, etc. I called to complain, and was told that sometimes the keyboard fits really tight and need some extra help to lift it out. I then questioned their experiences in dealing with my laptop model (Lenovo Thinkpad) and was reassured that they have plenty of experience. I beg to differ. Someone like me (with absolutely no background in laptop mechanics) was able to follow the online instructions and successfully remove the keyboard without any damages. I imagine a more experienced professional wouldn't have caused the damage that happened. It's either the lack of expertise, or carelessness, and neither is a good qualify to have in a laptop repair technician. Overall, negative experience. read more

I spilt something on my laptop and found this company on the internet & they say they specialise in spillages. I thought they sounded reasonable, £106 pounds to collect the laptop, repair it and send it back. After a couple of days I received an email saying that they had looked at it and would I give the authorisation to repair it. I did this and looked forward to receiving my laptop back. A couple of days later I received a further email stating that they had found a further fault and would send me a new estimate. I then received this which said the motherboard needed replacing and the charge for all of this would be £499:00 ( minus £35:00 I had paid up front). Obviously I wasn't going to pay this for a 4 year old laptop. Then I was told that I had to make arrangements to collect the laptop myself! I don't feel that this was made clear in the beginning and I'm surprised that they couldn't see the extent of the damage in the first place. A tad misleading all round. read more

Hardware is cheaper elsewhere, especially online, and this shop will ABSOLUTELY NOT accept returns, or even offer a credit note for goods returned IN PERFECT RESALEABLE CONDITION. A very poor attitude. Even PC World will accept returns (or offer a credit note), and certainly online retailers, by law. Repairs are subject to a non-refundable minimum charge. Their dour attitude is: "We'll look at it for £35 but won't offer any prospect of success." My family, including a senior engineer for Aston Martin software management, will not be using this store again. read more

I have had laptop and iPhone repairs handled well over the past year. Each time the service has been friendly, efficient, and effective, at what I judge to be very reasonable prices. If I am unlucky enough to need laptop or phone repairs in future I will certainly use this company again read more

Tried to contact them over getting a motherboard repaired, no reply after 2 days. Their live chat said to resend it to x email, and still didn't get a reply even from that address. Decided to take my business elsewhere. read more
