Let me tell you About some experiences I've had with this place. I went in for horrible pain in my back and weakness in my legs. They did know test told me to use ibuprofen and ice on my back and sent me on my way. I had to have someone wheelchair me to my car because I still couldn't walk. I have to go back in a few hours later because I can't stand the pain and can't walk still. They do a X-ray tell me the same thing and wheelchair me to my car. I go back in A 3rd time. They do a CT scan and within 10 minutes I'm on a stretcher headed to the cities to a different hospital because my Aorta had dissected and I was in extreme danger of it rupturing and me bleeding out internally and dying in less than 3 minutes. I spent 10 days in the hospital that time. The reason they kept sending me away is they thought I was trying to get pain meds, because I'm a former addict of methamphetamine. So instead of giving me proper care like any other person they treated me as if I was disposable and not like a equal human being at all. Next experience I was having attacks where I couldn't breathe, sweating, passing out, rapid heartbeat, feeling like my heart was being crushed, severe shortness of breath, they ruled it as panic attacks several times during several visits over 2 years. I mean 10- 15 visits a year minimum. First thing before any test are done they would ask me "do you have anxiety?" I said yes but these are not panic attacks. They ignored me and when I would have a attack while at the emergency room nobody would come to my screaming help or they would slowly stroll in and just look at me and do nothing. Turn's out my Aorta has a anyerism that would fill up with blood instead of going to my lungs and other organs causing me to literally suffocate due to lack of oxygen rich blood not getting to where it was needed. So for 3 years I suffered and mostly remained on my couch because of fear of having one of those attacks, because nobody cared enough to look further into the problem because they thought they were too smart to be wrong. They ruined my life for almost 3 years because of their lazy, arrogant, holier than thou attitudes. Last experience that stands out is recently I went in for back pain headache and nausea after having Aorta surgery I was worried about sepsis or infection due to the graph they put in me. The emergency room doctor gives me a shot of dopenerole which online specifically says not to give to people with congestive heart failure, who are on anti depressants, or have high blood pressure. I have all so the reaction was profuse sweating, extremely restless legs to the point I wanted to be shot in the head, irritability. That lasted for 14 hours. My legs had tremors and were literally kicking in the air when I was trying to sleep when I first got the injection. It was really horrible. Finally after begging for something for my legs I was given ropinerole which I also have at home. It helped but they continued to dance and shake and jump for 14 hours. So that's my experience with Allina Cambridge medical center. Hopefully this history will guide you into the right direction of getting help somewhere else. Thank you, Rich Williams. read more

My review is a lot different from the others below LOLy two visits must've been on good days. I'm from the cities and ER wait time in Saint Paul can usually lead to 1-6 hour wait, not sure why it's called an emergency. So I'm tickled pink that the 2 times we've been to CMC We've been seen in 20 min or less. When I was a patient the nurses and docs were actually friendly and attentive, I didn't feel like an inconvenience or as If they were rushing me out of their at all. The second time we were in my fiancé amputated the tip of his finger, same thing everyone was nice and attentive I do wish they would've been a little more accommodating and offer pain medication or something at the time, but other than that the experience was fine. read more

My 5 year old son was brought in tonight because his breathing was off. They took his o2 levels when he got there and it was at 91%. They waited 3 hours and a phone call from an extremely angry mother to put him on o2 and get him into a room. The emergency room is awful and has been for years. Straight quack trash. Booked a virtual appointment for psychiatry with Dr. Michelle Schultz over a month in advance. One day before my appointment they called to say I would have to come in, no virtual appointments available! Yeah, Cambridge is BFE I wouldn't even know it on a map and I am not driving 80 miles for something EVERYBODY ELSE does virtually still because hello, pandemic. The Dr. Lied, He told my wife to come in for a procedure in the emergency room and when she got there they said we don't do those procedures here, stay here for 3 nights and we will transfer you to a better Hospital. Dirty emergency rooms and bad nurses because they refused to clean up the toilets with feces on them. If you are a Allina member, go directly to Mercy Hospital, much better care. ZERO stars!!!!! Negative 10 stars! Switched hospitals personally years ago due to sub-standard care. ER is a joke! Son in law has a heart issue and blood clots. We checked in and sent him to wait in the covid waiting room for an hour. I had to ask when he was going to be seen before a triage person actually showed up. read more

I am so impressed with the quick and efficient care we received. We were away from home and needed emergency care due to chemo complications. We were in the Allina system, and received immediate care. the Hospital stay was great with very professional care. read more

This hospital isn't the greatest. Every time I've been to this hospital it always seems like they're trying to rush you out of the door. My daughter had a fall after she learned how to walk and had to get her face glued shut. That was about the only experience where they did something. Otherwise they like to write scripts for you and send you on your way. They don't care about you as much as they should. Sucks that this is the only hospital in Cambridge. I'd rather go to Maple Grove Hospital. read more

I can't speak to the ER check-in experience as I was brought by ambulance, but having been hospitalized here for the better part of a week, I felt very fortunate to be somewhere that offered such great care. When I first arrived I was very scared, in a lot of pain, and emotionally in shock. I could barely even move on my own due to pain. The staff there were all so gentle and reassuring with me, and walked me through everything that was happening and going to happen. Everyone was really patient and seemed understanding of my anxiety, and they were flexible about accommodating my difficulty swallowing pills. Even the food there was good, at least the food for patients. I needed help with some embarrassingly basic things and everyone was really nice and made it as non-awkward as possible for me. As time went on and the emotional impact of what had happened began to catch up with me, and I often ended up crying in front of the nurses. All of them were so kind and nonjudgmental about it, and even offered some words of comfort. When I was in a better mood, I was able to chat positively and even joke a bit with the nurses while they did my vitals and whatnot. I saw two PTs there during my stay and they were both so compassionate and encouraging, in addition to being knowledgeable. read more

ER is terrible. Brought my 12 year old in and no one even bothered to check on us for over an hour. He's in pain and I page the nurse and she's annoyed I'm asking what the wait time will be. DO NOT come to the ER here unless you absolutely need to. You'd probably be served faster going to a nearby hospital even if it's 20 minutes away. I would have given them zero stars but their maternity area here is decent. By the way I'm still waiting for a doctor and the nurse never even bothered to get back to me. Horrible Patient care! The only hospital I've ever seen where there are 3 available check in people, but only one is registering people, and the other two are on their computers directing everyone into the single line. I started to tell you about all the problems I've had over the years with the Cambridge Medical Center and it's clinic but I ran out of character space. To put it as short as possible, I came to the mindset that I would rather die than go back there again. I moved out of Cambridge and will NEVER go back to that hospital or clinic again. If I could give it less than one star, I would. I'd give it a "nothing", which would quite accurately reflect the help I received from them, and at great time and expense too, I might add. read more

Amazing place! I met my life time doctor there, and never before have I had such a helpful and kind doctor. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. There is even some very sweet volunteers that work there and wheel around a cart of water and snacks and ask if you need anything. read more
