This company is Absolutely terrible to deal with. DO NOT do business with them, I was promised my…read moreshutters in 6 to 8 weeks it took them nearly 17 weeks, the installer came out alone and I had to spend half a day up on a ladder helping the installer FIT the shutters as he needed a second set of hands to hold them. After all this they provided me with the WRONG color (wasn't out by a huge amount was still grey, but the wrong grey) after all this I tried to come to a compromise with them as obviously I wished to have the shutters either re done in the right color to match everything else or some sort of discount for the much around, they offered a few hundred dollars off a $17,000 job. When I said that wasn't acceptable I wanted them to do something better they assumed I was trying to dodge the bill, were extremely rude and unprofessional, emailed me back and said they are removing the good will discount of a few hundred and if I didn't pay in 24 hours they would add a near $1800 late fee, I responded to them and said that wasn't acceptable I'm waiting for the general manager to come up with a fair middle ground instead I got send a new invoice with the $1800 fee added and the next morning was forwarded to E Collect a debt collection agency they use. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from what looks to be a good company. I will be pursuing this further, but in my honest opinion I would steer clear of these people. I have had shutters done on my two other houses and never had any issues like this before. I have also worked in the sales and building industry for well over a decade and have never seen a company treat its customers like this. They took $5400 deposit so they have some of the money and they will not come to a fair arrangement. To put it into perspective from memory I was only asking for approx another $1000 off the price of the total job to make it fair and Instead this is how I get treated. We also had to follow up as we were not contacted for installation by due date. From the initial quote to installation I found the whole process to be friendly efficient and top quality. Now 2 years later and our outdoor blinds still look sensational. I did get the best price from Scott as well but that was not the only reason we chose this company. Other companies told us we couldn't install blinds as we wanted for various reasons and tried to get us to install differently. Scott came and had a look, said it would be difficult but could be done. He worked so hard and got the job done with obvious pride and skill in his work. I decided to take my artwork down in person because it was a bit of money to spend and I wanted to touch base with them to get a feel for the business. Straight away it was clear they are customer service oriented. Murray made a change in his schedule to accommodate the time I went in. Once there, it was like walking to a family business in that it was welcoming and the atmosphere was happy. It's a hard combination to find these days with some businesses. Mel was very helpful with the artwork as it had to be tweaked a bit to fit in the design as well as my preferences. All was done very professionally. We ended up contacting a few companies for a quote (to compare) and EWF was the only company who turned up on time (we had soo many problems trying to get one of the other companies out). I found the sales rep to be very friendly and knowledgeable - they obviously cared about what I wanted and sought to find solutions that met this. Once we placed our order the blinds were ready, the same rep came out to install them. We thought this was great, as he knew exactly what we were going for and the whole thing was done very quickly. Very happy with our roman blinds and our overall experience.
