Clark's is obviously a well known and long established shoe brand, and is known for good quality shoes. I'm pretty sure that when I was a child, all my shoes came from here! They offer a professional foot measuring system, so you can ensure you are definitely getting the right fit. The shoes are well made and come in a wide range of sizes, half sizes, and widths. This little shop has always been a well presented and run shop, with friendly staff, and is a real credit to the brand.

On Saturdays especially it is hard to find a member of staff to answer queries without having to queue forever (sometimes I just give up and go elsewhere when I can't find something). I prefer to shop online because makeup, etc isn't sealed with sticky tape which leaves a residue or you can't get off. Their points machines often don't work and I hate the way that they are positioned so that everyone in the store can read your name and details as you use them.

This reputation comes from selling for £5 what other chains would sell for about £10. The bad bit is that they don't always have the size of selection or the more high-end items that you can pick up in Boots. This particular branch is right in the heart of Castle Court which means it is easy to get to as well as very convenient if you are just popping in to pick up some stuff. This store is always well stocked and the staff are always really dead on. All in all, if you can't get to Boots you may as well call in here.

They also sell jewelry, which is also priced rather highly at some pieces costing £50 and not really looking like they should. They do stock Fit Flops which is a good find as I struggled to find them anywhere else in the town. I notice they have just bought in EMU brand boots too, which I quite like but can also be found for a cheaper price in TKMaxx (if you are lucky!) One last thing, if a pair of shoes costs £99 one day then £89 the next does that mean they deserve to no longer sit nicely in a little area of their own but have to now lay in among all the other shoes in what frankly I would refer to as a heap? Having popped in to take a peak at the sale a couple of days ago, I was delighted to discover huge discounts on nearly all shoes, and attempted to dive in and find a few bargains. Unfortunately, three ladies and a buggy were in my way and would not move. Nope, not even an inch. For a good ten minutes, I hovered, I coughed, I dodged...and still the chin-wagging continued. No movement, but plenty of chat. Grrr, frustration. No shoes bargains to be had, unfortunately, although that was quite possibly for the better. I'll be back!

Priced the dress I wanted in a few shops before I bought, Angel Star were not any more expensive, in fact cheaper than McElhiney's in Donegal. Agree with AngelDeb, there are no on site alterations which is not great but she did recommend a lady nearby who has been in the business for 30 odd years and seems very professional. It has a special bridal room, which is well lit with natural light. The staff are knowledgable and helpful. The selection of dresses is broad, without being completely overwhelming. They also have a good range of bridesmaid dresses.The two cons would be that they are quite expensive, and that they don't do alterations on site - you need to take your dresses elsewhere. I haven't received my dresses yet, so will update this when I do - but happy with the service I received to date!

I've found myself quite a few bargains in Muse, it has to be said. I picked up a necklace for £2 for my sister (which died a sudden and premature death when she decided to wear it out in the rain and it turned a funny shade of green), as well as one for myself (which has gotten plenty of compliments and is still in intact). Both necklaces were those long dangly ones too, so I think £2 was pretty sweet. Yep, when Muse do a sale, they really do a sale. The rest of the year (ie non-sale time), the jewellery and shoes are comparable in price to the likes of Accessorise and Topshop (ie fairly expensive). The type of jewellery is also very much similar to the aforementioned stores, and in fact, they even sell some Dorothy Perkins stuff. Interesting. The jewellery is generally reasonably priced, so it's pretty useful to call in if you need something to set off an outfit. They also do hair accessories and bags, but they aren't really to my taste, so I tend to avoid!
