    Sacramento Midtown Farmer's Market
    Arnel E.

Chanced upon their unlabeled booth at the Sacramento Midtown Farmer's Market this Saturday morning. Saw a line of customers and was curious about this bakery. Sourdough loaves of bread were on display as well as breakfast pastries. Bought the Morning Bun, Chocolate Croissant, and Raisin Snail without any expectations. The Morning Bun was beyond delicious. Buttery with just the right amount of sweetness for that breakfast kick Haven't tasted the other two baked goodies yet, but we're pretty sure they're also good.

Five Stars! Not many businesses get such a high rating. Why? It's what your taste buds tell you about any food placed within your mouth. At that point,it's all about you. You are the critic by what and how you process taste. You can take pictures. You can talk about it. Nothing says something like what your senses tell you about the food you eat. Food, the last frontier left to soothe our not so guilty pleasures. Hey,I like food, good food, great food. Food that people invest their time baking, to please you. Camina Bakery can be found in Butte County at the Saturday Farmer's Market in Chico, CA. 8AM- until the market closes. You might want to search them out early. They tend to get a line of people standing patiently to order one or multiple baked goods offered for public consumption. I like what they have to offer. Something about the taste they sell goes well, wrapped around what you eat. Try for yourself. https://caminabakery.com So there you go.

Sourdough with Walnuts, dark coating, but nice enough. Next day much better!

The best sour dough you can buy in Chico. Find them at the Saturday farmers market or Bapas market.

Best sourdough I have ever had. Crusty crust, light and airy texture inside and balanced sour flavor are perfect!

I tried the Mousse brownie - airy, moist, delicious Peach cobbler bar - fresh, creamy and delightful The menu I feel like they are trying too hard to pull the artisanal aspect into the food. Artisanal is not toss a bunch of random things together and attach a hefty price tag. That's for sure. I had the black bean soup. I loved the cilantro pesto. The soup was well seasoned, a little spicy. It was vegetarian but it was still missing something and I couldn't put my finger on it. This grilled cheese... that I ordered with turkey but it was prepared without costs $20. Made with foccia, three cheese (stingy portions might I add) and tomato. For $20 this cheese/ bread combo needs to have an impressive cheese pull. It did not. No pull at all. The bread was herbed and flavorful. Not worth $18-20 without sides and a beverage. The menu was too all over the place for me so I wouldn't eat the food again. But the dessert I would gladly come back for. I'm interested in a beverage as well.

Well, this cake did not disappoint! It was a stunning 3-layer 6" cake, with simple yet elegant decoration. The cream cheese frosting was divine, and best of all -- there were no raisins! He said it was the best he's ever had... so Heirloom helped make me girlfriend of the year! The day I placed my order, I also picked up a Cobb salad to-go, and that was also one of the best Cobbs I've ever had. There was a generous amount of seasoned, roasted chicken and a side of chunky blue cheese dressing. Perhaps my favorite discovery? Salads (maybe all bistro items?) come with a complimentary brownie bite! I learned this on my first visit after they ran after me to my car -- "You forgot your brownie!" I hadn't ordered one, so I was understandably confused... but I gladly accepted, and enjoyed, a bite of happiness in brownie form. I've since returned for another Cobb salad + brownie lunch treat, and I can't wait for my next excuse to order a cake. I only wish their charcuterie boards came in smaller portions for weekend winery excursions. Charcuterie is my favorite food group, but I just haven't had a reason or event to order for 4-6 people. Thank you, Heirloom, for keeping Chico sweet!
