Pastor Jonathan is amazing, the song and worship service is top notch and the church is involved in so many community affairs that it is just good to know that I am a part of something that is a part of the community. The church has such an incredible history that I am sure most people reading this are well aware of it. Coming from California though, it is pleasant to finally meet the Falwell's and to see their ministry in action. When I was in my early 20s I was a radio DJ at a Christian radio station in Santa Maria California and I remember playing Jerry Falwell Sr.'s messages every week. It was a very emotional experience to attend my first service and to go to the Falwell Memorial on the campus for the first time. If you are in Lynchburg, there really is no other place that you should attend church, especially if you only have one Sunday to experience Lynchburg at it's finest. I guess old women don't care for hate and death threats. Easy to condemn a preacher that for years did bible studies and prayer with other preachers in community, including those of color, when you know nothing about the church of people or pastor. Would get up in middle of night to see the sick of families of bereaved. Even would see members from other churches because the preacher there wouldn't, or they were too good to see a member that was in jail. Yelp doesn't seem to care for false reports on their site it seems, I tend to take recommendation sites likely for the reason that people can't be trusted to give an honest opinion.
