They may not have everything I want in terms of upscale groceries, clothing, and media, but they do a pretty good job and prices are fair. Also, my previous experiences with Wal-Marts have been in cities, where you get the dirtiest, nastiest, drug addicted, half-naked crazy people who come in and make you want to not shop there. This Wal-Mart, on the other hand, has a very respectable clientele.

Today was no exception, except I spoke to management today. So I place my order about midnight and it was ready before noon. I order 2 cases of water and some other items. They substituted my water for water that was about 40 cents more, also I canceled some substitution. Anyway I went in and found everything they said they didn't have. This is what upset me. I spoke to management and they said they ran out of the water from midnight to noon. But had 4 pallets that had half or more water on them around noon. I think I am done with Walmart. I know that it doesn't matter if I stop shopping there that they will make their money. But at least consider filing a complaint so things can get fixed. I doubt I am the only one that has problems with this store. So please file a complaint and let's change this Walmart.

They fubbed my order, canceled my first service appointment because they didn't think they had my tires (they did) and then wouldn't install them when I showed up for my second service appointment, having come from 80 miles away, because they said they weren't paid for. I showed them the credit card statement showing their charge, paid in full, from 2 days ago! Still wouldn't do it because they said the order was canceled? Who canceled it? I didn't cancel it. Why was it canceled? Was it really canceled? I'm not trying to scam anybody, I just want to buy some tires. Hey, I'm not going to force these guys to take my business and my money- clearly they don't deserve it. The store manager offered no help. Bottom line- this has been a total waste of my time and the incompetency of the Walmart staff prevents them solving even the smallest problem or providing any sort of accommodating customer service. I learned my lesson and made a mistake that won't be repeated. I went to a local shop and was taken care of with no issue. I should have done that the first time around.

Of the two, my choice is the employee-owned United Supermarket. The place is laid out pretty well -- better than the HEBs we have in Texas. The prices are comparable to any other grocery store, so no definitely no complaints to be had there. The selection is decent for a small northwest Oklahoma grocery store, and a lot of items in their $1/discounted section aren't just generic/store brand, so I get to stock up on hot sauces, disposable salt and pepper shakers, lint removers, and other odds and ends. There's a deli on one end, with hot service, and a seating area for folks who come in and grab breakfast or lunch, so I like the sense of community that fosters. There is a pretty good selection of meat and fish, all appearing fresh and affordable. The produce selection is fresh and reasonably-priced. There's also a pharmacy, where folks can come in and get their prescriptions filled while they shop. So, if you have to shop for groceries in Woodward, from a consumer point of view, between Wal Mart and United, go United. Any price differential is balanced by not having to shop at Wal Mart. And of the two Uniteds in town, I prefer this one to the one on Oklahoma Avenue.
